Leonid & Friends concert September 3, 2023, in Howard, WI, at the Howard Commons Activity Complex Grand Opening Celebration. This was a somewhat rare opportunity to see the band for free. Leonid & Friends comprises the finest musicians in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus. Their set list continues to be dominated by Chicago tunes but they sprinkle in other artists in their performances.
Chicago recorded a cover version of the Spencer Davis Group song "I'm a Man" for their 1969 debut album, The Chicago Transit Authority. When Chicago's popularity surged after their second album, "I'm a Man" was released as the B-side to a re-release of "Questions 67 and 68".
Radio stations ended up playing both sides and "I'm a Man" reached number 49 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1971.
Vasillii Akimov kicks off the vocals on this tune, followed by Mikhail Puntiov and then Danil Buranov. Igor Javad-Zade plays his drum solo in the midst of this song.
