    So pretty much it's an expanding subsonic 9mm with devastating terminal ballistic results. I might have to try a box of this. Might have to test it on a watermelon and some dry wall to simulate interior and exterior walls.

    920 fps out of a Glock 19 with a 185gr projectile? Sounds just like my sig 45 acp cartridges. Theyre 200 gr projectile moving at 916fps . Curious about lock time and battering on a 9mm frame.

      @jordanhorst6 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Mr.Ut21 Well there are modern
      .30 carbine options, sage even does a chassis for it. But the main limitation of the guns is the slow twist rate. If someone were to produce a barrel with a twist rate somewhere between 10-14 I think you could see the versatility of .30 carbine as an intermediary between 9mm and 5.56. it's overall length is shorter than 5.56. But with a faster twist rate and seismic's case/propellant design you could stabilize a heavy projectile close to the weight of 300blk and at a higher velocity. All while being within pistol cartridge length. But all that said if your limited to what is currently available, there are some replica M1s and modern alternatives.

    For some reason I never noticed that this ammo uses a 2 piece case. Due to my state laws(CT) we can't have a threaded barrel in a pistol(unless you bought it before the most recent "assault weapon" ban, and registered it with the state as an assault weapon(yes, seriously)), so I don't have a 9mm suppresor, but I'd love to shoot this through a can.
    I'm also surprised at the velocity(I think he said 970fps out of a g19 or 17?) Most 147gr defensive rounds are right at 1000fps, though I can't remember if that's normal pressures or +P.
    My only concern is how small the difference in velocities that you get expansion vs. no expansion out of are too small, at least for a handgun. I think having this for a dedicated PCC/subgun round is the better option, particularly if you want something in 9mm that's as quiet as possible.

      Well, its really high pressure rounds that cause wear and tear.
      +P and +P+ 9mm cause wear much faster than standard pressure .40.
      Over pressure ammunition has a much different POA/POI shift vs standard pressure. As well as more recoil. Which means people who carry 9mm should be practicing with ammunition that is +P/+P+ to get quality of practice rather than quantity.

      I shoot 9m in a sub compact and .45 in a 1911, no issues

    Good bye .40 cal and .45 cal, l just hope that no super secret unit start to carry it and the price shoots through the roof, like Daniel Defense and Colt.

      It appears that this ammunition is just all hype. The 185 grain seismic 9mm failed to expand properly in a 16-inch block of 10% ballistics gel out of a full size Beretta M9. th-cam.com/video/41VOBixvGQc/w-d-xo.html I would definitely feel more comfortable sticking with a company like federal or Remington Golden Saber.

      @@bridges7472 I use nothing but federal on my Glock 35. Just functions properly.

      @@jlac2box Great choice of firearm and ammunition. That's about all I use in my Glock 22 as well.

      @@bridges7472 Yup l saw the video after l posted my comment, I carry Hornady critical duty in both 9mm and 40, I look at what the FBI what they carry since they got the people to do the research.

    Good review- I don’t carry 9mm my wife does though. I am not sure if I understand how you can stuff that big of bullet in to a 9mm casing. Then still have enough room for a charge of powder.
    I have shot 185 in .45 acp. I really didn’t care for them and am shooting 230gr

    Sooo, ... sub-sonic ... -ish, and 185gr ... does that translate to defeating level III body armor like .300 blackout did?
