I was attacked by a 350 lb or bigger blackbear. Essex county ny 3 years go. 4r5 days prior to the incident i had shot a nice 8pt buck and gutted it right there ware it dropped. I Was hunting the same section . all a sudden this bear comes running down the ridge toward the gutpile. My down wind side was towards the gutpile also. Just as the bear got to the guts and started eating. All a sudden a good gust of wind blows directly at him. He instantly changed body language to predator mode movments turned and looked directly at me! He came running full speed. He had rage and hate in his eyes . Full on sprint he charges directly at me wo slowing at all. He hit into me so hard he knocked me over my rifle went flying me behind it. He was going so fast he ran over and past me . He had to stop n turn around to bite me. Well he did just as i was scrambling for my rifle. He bit onto my rear right buttock leg area so hard just as i got the rifle in my hands. I turned over slightly and let two 175gr 3006 rounds into him. He runs bout 20feet and he died right there . Crazy exp. Changed my life im now kinda skiddish in the woods. Dont stop me but im always got it in the back of my mind. 😮
Dang! One about that size killed a retired man in Arizona last year, he had bought a small piece of property and was building a cabin to retire to and was out there working on it drinking his morning coffee on the porch and it snuck up on him, he was screaming and yelling but none of the neighbors had a gun and the bear was not scared of the people yelling at it, i think it took about an hour before someone came with a rifle and killed it but by that time it was too late and the man had expired. You work 50 years to retire and get taken out by a black bear in a neighborhood smh

That's so weird that you talk about the fact that you probably should have been killed at some point, with all of the predicaments that you've been in. I say that because I'm in the same frame of mind. If I start ticking off the number of times that I nearly died, I lose count eventually. There are just so many. Near drowning, numerous serious car accidents, an industrial accident involving a cement mixer, a lightning strike, accidental overdose, gangrene, osteomyelitis, and two different heart related hospitalizations with ambulance rides while unresponsive. I actually "coded" in the ER during one of those. WHY??? What possible reason is there for coming that close, that often, yet surviving each time? If anyone has any definite suggestions, I'd appreciate any enlightening possible. This is something that has had me wondering for quite some time. I truly appreciate everyone out there who's part of the club. God bless!

The one thing that I'm trying to get as much joy and satisfaction from as possible is my only grandchild at the moment. However, our youngest daughter, who miscarried her first pregnancy last December, is with child again. Praise the Lord! She's due the first week of June. My wife and I waited and wished for grand babies for several years. So, we are more than ready to spoil them rotten! Our first grandchild is a girl named Amelia Rose. She turned one on August 23rd, 2023. She can't wait to have a cousin! So, lacking any other signposts, I'm going to spend every second that I possibly can spoiling these grand babies and protecting them from men who want to use the ladies' room! It's a very sad commentary on this world and what supposedly sane human beings have done to it.

Sawed off shot guns at my head, cancer, over dose in my very wild youth, a very close friend turned out to be a serial killer, a multiple car accident that everyone had to be removed by the jaws of life but I walk away without a scratch, cardiac tapinaud, it goes on & on. I’m not particularly talented in any way but I fiercely love my family & care for any animal that finds its way to me. Still wondering what my higher purpose is, not getting any younger.🤷♀️😂🙏❤️

I think it’s more likely your grandpa and mom watching over you rather than Sasquatch. I think they probably just know you are aware of them and it trips them out. Steve, Ontario loves your videos. I hunted moose & black bear in Northern Ontario a lot. I have never experienced anything that scary. I can see how a hiker could pass away after meeting up with one of these creatures. I'm pretty good in the woods but without my gun I would probably be one of the unexplained deaths. Never separate in the woods! Carry if you can.

Steve I am 60. Let me tell you packing a hundred pound rucksack and a 23 pound machine gun will break your body down fast! There is not one step I take that is not in pain! I walked into my orthopedist Doc about 15 years ago my knee was big around as a basketball! This was the first time I had ever seen her because my regular Doc was not available! The first out of her mouth is you was military weren't you I said yeah so what? She said because nobody else could have walked in here in that condition! She went on to say I don't know how you do it! Any normal person would break well before this point. I just told her you have to do what you have to do! She just shook her head and proceeded to drain about 70cc of fluid out of my knee! That Woman is a master with a needle. She is still the only Doctor I trust to this day! But back to the point! There is a reason the US Military retires you in your 40's! If you are a grunt not only is your mind broken but your body is also! We were not designed to carry 100-130 pound packs on our back all day. It was never done for the glory which there is none it was done for love of country and love of all people seeking freedom! So when we say we are old men now it is because we are! We wore our bodies out as young men so the rest of you can become old men! Love Ya Brother keep up the good work!

That's so weird that you talk about the fact that you probably should have been killed at some point, with all of the predicaments that you've been in. I say that because I'm in the same frame of mind.
If I start ticking off the number of times that I nearly died, I lose count eventually. There are just so many. Near drowning, numerous serious car accidents, an industrial accident involving a cement mixer, a lightning strike, accidental overdose, gangrene, osteomyelitis, and two different heart related hospitalizations with ambulance rides while unresponsive. I actually "coded" in the ER during one of those. WHY??? What possible reason is there for coming that close, that often, yet surviving each time?
If anyone has any definite suggestions, I'd appreciate any enlightening possible. This is something that has had me wondering for quite some time. I truly appreciate everyone out there who's part of the club. God bless!

It's because God has a Purpose for you to still accomplish here on this earth, and it most likely has something to do with using the things you've experienced in your life to HELP OTHERS. @gummo3873 Thank you so much! I do know that it's because God has a plan for me. I just wish He'd clue me in already. I'm getting old and progressively more broken as the days pass. The one thing that I'm trying to get as much joy and satisfaction from as possible is my only grandchild at the moment. However, our youngest daughter, who miscarried her first pregnancy last December, is with child again. Praise the Lord! She's due the first week of June.
My wife and I waited and wished for grand babies for several years. So, we are more than ready to spoil them rotten! Our first grandchild is a girl named Amelia Rose. She turned one on August 23rd, 2023. She can't wait to have a cousin!
So, lacking any other signposts, I'm going to spend every second that I possibly can spoiling these grand babies and protecting them from men who want to use the ladies' room! It's a very sad commentary on this world and what supposedly sane human beings have done to it.

I feel the same way! I’ve gone through my 9 lives twice! I’ve had crazy experiences that 💯 should have taken me, but here I am. Sawed off shot guns at my head, cancer, over dose in my very wild youth, a very close friend turned out to be a serial killer, a multiple car accident that everyone had to be removed by the jaws of life but I walk away without a scratch, cardiac tapinaud, it goes on & on. I’m not particularly talented in any way but I fiercely love my family & care for any animal that finds its way to me. Still wondering what my higher purpose is, not getting any younger.🤷♀️😂🙏❤️

I also live in Wisconsin and I seen 2 things that scared me but the 2nd one really scared me I wouldn't go out at night and wouldn't go back in the woods. I no longer go up the dirt road I seen it in.
I had an experience when I was checking my traps, I got out of there so fast I left my traps , and never been back there, that was two years ago, I sent in my story to Steve, waiting to hear it, it was quite an experience

Every single year, more than 1500 people dissappear from national parks, NEVER to be seen again. Many Of them ALSO were not scared, and were "experienced" outdoorsmen. You can keep thinking that they're harmless if you want to. As for me, I'd prefer NOT to become a statistic.....✌️

You can continue assuming what’s taking the people. I prefer to know definitively before I will live in fear of the great outdoors. Additionally, “They” have been living on our farm for at least 51 years, and never harmed us or our livestock. People put their beliefs out on the forefront as facts, without ever having any direct real life experiences.

I think it’s more likely your grandpa and mom watching over you rather than Sasquatch. I think they probably just know you are aware of them and it trips them out. I think they also probably just know your intention. Who knows though, plenty of stories of kids/families just out to enjoy nature and are completely harmless to these beings getting terrorized. Maybe just the ones in the areas you frequent know who you are. I don’t think they know anything about the internet or that you share their truths. More they can sense you respect them. Steve, Ontario loves your videos. I hunted moose & black bear in Northern Ontario a lot. I have never experienced anything that scary. I can see how a hiker could pass away after meeting up with one of these creatures. I'm pretty good in the woods but without my gun I would probably be one of the unexplained deaths. Never separate in the woods! Carry if you can.

Steve I am 60. Let me tell you packing a hundred pound rucksack and a 23 pound machine gun will break your body down fast! There is not one step I take that is not in pain! I walked into my orthopedist Doc about 15 years ago my knee was big around as a basketball! This was the first time I had ever seen her because my regular Doc was not available! The first out of her mouth is you was military weren't you I said yeah so what? She said because nobody else could have walked in here in that condition! She went on to say I don't know how you do it! Any normal person would break well before this point. I just told her you have to do what you have to do! She just shook her head and proceeded to drain about 70cc of fluid out of my knee! That Woman is a master with a needle. She is still the only Doctor I trust to this day! But back to the point! There is a reason the US Military retires you in your 40's! If you are a grunt not only is your mind broken but your body is also! We were not designed to carry 100-130 pound packs on our back all day. It was never done for the glory which there is none it was done for love of country and love of all people seeking freedom! So when we say we are old men now it is because we are! We wore our bodies out as young men so the rest of you can become old men! Love Ya Brother keep up the good work!
