The melody is from Veyiten Lcha Haelokim Mital Hashsmayim composed by R Ben Zion Shenker the greatest baal menagen of our time. It is not anyone else’s nigun. Carlebach may sung it but its BZ Shenker’s melody.
Correction. According to the information on the album "The New Modzitz Melave Malke" the niggun was composed by the Modzitzer Rebbe Rabbi Saul ztz"l, but indeed sung by Benzion Shenker, who was indeed a very "holy Yid".

According to the information that I have the tune of Modzitz was for Neilah on Yom Kippur and Reb Shlomo adapted it for Havdala to conclude the Shabbat (just as Neilah concludes Yom Kippur).
In all the recordings and videos I can find of Carlebach he uses the melody he wrote himself. If he used the Modzitzer tune, was it earlier or later in his career?

Wow never knew till now r shenker was a holy yid
I don't think Carlebach sang this. He wrote his own melody Hinei El Yeshuati which you can find on youtube sung by himself, Yehuda Green and others.

"laurent" , change ton pseudo en Rachid ça t'ira mieux
Do you have more information? Are you thinking instead of the tune Friedman wrote for the Birchot Havdalah?
