Just wanted to say for those considering/are starting this project with 0 experience, a bucket of anxiety, hope, & prayers with this video series… You CAN do this!!! I believe in you! Because I was able to struggle my way to completing my first crochet figure ever in major thanks to Crafting with Nana!!
I just received this kit as a gift and this video is helping me SO much. I’m a visual learner so this is exciting to find! Thanks for your time making this video 😊
Thank you so much! Had this kit sitting on the shelf and it looked too confusing for me to tackle. Haven’t crocheted for about 4-5 years and am so thankful to have this.
Thank you for doing this! I’ve had this kit for 4 years and couldn’t figure it out, so now you’ve helped me pull it out of the depths of the closet and get started this week! ❤️
My daughter and I like your calming voice. I’ve done chains before but had zero clue how to make a round. This tutorial is exactly what we needed to practice before tackling baby grogu. Even though we are beginners I hope we will be able to enjoy learning a new skill with your help.
Aah so happy I found this video! My husband gave me the kit for Christmas and I’ve been struggling with Yoda, almost losing hope until I found your video today.
Thanks Nana for making this! This has helped me a ton in understanding how to make rounds. As a child I would only make chains so I'm finally progressing to a round. Can't wait to finish this little guy :)
I figured with this "down time" I would try something new and way out of character. So this just arrived today and I was like "Ummmm, OK this will never get done". Thank you for this tutorial!!! My money will not be wasted
Just finding this in 2021, and it is super helpful!! My mom and I both knit, and I got this kit for her to crochet Yoda and R2D2. She couldn't figure it out, so she gave it back to me to try. Now I'm figuring it out with your videos, and planning to give the finished products to her for Christmas. Thank you for such clear instructions and helpful videos! :) Hopefully the rest of the rounds go as smoothly as these did!
Thank you for making this video, this helped me figure out how to do round three. This was very helpful for me to follow although I dont have all the supplies you had to do this, but it was fun doing it without the supplies.
so glad this has helped...I honestly think that the creative process is not about a kit but about what you have on hand. The technique doesn't need to change but you can personalize with whatever you have! Enjoy! I will get another video out soon!!
Thank you for doing the Yoda tutorial. It helped me immensely. Are you able to do Darth Vader? I am stuck and would love to follow your tutorial. Thank you!!!
I started yesterday and plan to have the edit done and posted on Saturday. It is a bit challenging so it will take several weeks. I don’t know which part you are stuck on but hopefully the first video will help!
@@CraftingwithNana awesome thank you so much 😊 it’s the 2nd the last project in this kit. I was trying to follow the stormtrooper once as a guide since they have similar body shapes. Thanks again ☺️
Hi! After you have made your first 6 stitches, were you able to join the begging stitch with the stitch on the hook? When joined it will look like a circle.
@@CraftingwithNanaI am really lost at that stage. I am relatively comfortable with the slipknot and am getting a bit better at holding the yarn for tension but after making the 6 stitches I can't really make out what you did in order to move to round 2.
Ok, once you have joined into a circle, then make 2 single crotchets in that same joined stitch and 2 single crochets in each stitch after ... around to the beginning...at this point you should have 12 crochet stitches and that will complete round 2. Try it out and let me know!
Hi there. What would you recommend for beginners? I bought this set for things to do while we are all stuck at home. I thought it was for beginners. Ha. I had a little bit of hard time seeing where your needle went into when starting the second round. The one you have to have 12 of. Any recommendations would be great! And if you could explain or show where it goes I would be so grateful. Thanks for these videos.
Welcome! I would definitely start with yoda. Of the two kits that I have used with her that one was the simplest even though it’s not simple! LOL. Starting that second round, you slip your hook under the first stitch that you took picking up two loops. Then you make that crochet stitch complete, And then insert sure hook again into the same stitch immediately passed where you made that previous stitch. Please let me know if this makes sense. If not I will post a short video on just that section. Do you follow us on Instagram? If so would it be easier if I did a short video there ?
@@CraftingwithNana A short video for that section would be amazing! I'm trying to follow as well, but keep getting stuck on that part. Not sure if my stitches are too tight maybe? Thanks for the tutorial! Wouldn't be able to even try this without it.
@@kelseychang5493 Ok, I will try to just put a short tutorial up this week that addresses going from a magic circle (round 1) to the 2nd row of stitching. Would this be helpful?
I find this thin yarn very difficult to work with. I’m a beginner and I’ve tried this magic circle 3 times each time when I pull it closed I’m unable to work with it. I’ve started over again but no success. I did try it with a thicker yarn and it seemed much easier. Any tips?
Can you send me a video of what you mean? I’m confused by what the problem is. If you want to send me a quick video my email is craftingwithnana@gmail.com
So glad you are enjoying the videos! Thank you for subscribing! Don't hesitate to make suggestions for future videos. I am posting one tomorrow morning that I hope will be fun for everyone!
Update... I’ve done some research and found that it is illegal to sell any of the characters I make that are under the Disney license. I want my channel and crafts to be compliant, therefore I am unable to sell any of the Disney characters. Thank you for understanding. Happy crafting!
I’m so sorry that you are finding it too difficult. I tried to keep it slow. Have you tried following some other creators? They might be more easily understood by you.
Thank you for catching this! I just dropped 4-9 into the today playlist. I’ve tried to find your comment online to send you the link but I can only find it on my phone. So please look on the playlist and hopefully it shows up for you. If not, please let me know.
Actually, the entire kit is not made for kids. It was marketed that way, and my granddaughter tried to make them… Which is why I tried to simplify the instructions.
I make little plushies here and there but the terms in the book threw me off. I'm used to dec. being decrease and inc. being increases. The sctog had me like WUT 👀🥲
Are you referring to the one for Yoda? If so, it came with the kit and was not labeled. It looks to be a bit of a lime green. You could certainly use a different color and thereby personalize your little guy!

I’m stuck on the head - helmet part. So I haven’t gotten very far.

Honestly, sometimes the smaller yarn is harder. I find if I hold the stitch close to the hook as I complete the stitch it works a bit better
do you have to have the magic circle?
No you don’t have to start with a magic circle. But it does make it easier to close that beginning stitch tight
What size hook is that and what kind of yarn
The hook size that came with the kit is “E”. The yarn is light worsted but you could probably use medium as well or whatever you have on hand
Okay so i tried again. How do you stop the wool slipping around?
