  • This video is late I will admit, but 4 weeks later, I got her done. I had such an amazing experience on Dukes Creek. All I can say is, what a fishery. The creek is chalked full of big ole juicy rainbow and brown trout. The record trout in Dukes Creek is 33'', which is mind-boggling to me. Blessed to be able to fish a creek that holds true giant trout. We will be back at Dukes Creek, I can promise that. Thank you guys for watching, and be sure to hit the subscribe button for more fishing and hunting content.
All rainbow trout and brown trout were caught on rooster tails

I fished there today landed 18 fish biggest was 28 inches it was cold as freak. 21 degrees today, and that fish you thought was a chub was actually a red eye bass super cool to see it in there

its sad to see such poor handling..

You right. I am nowhere near a professional trout fishermen, but those fish swam off in perfect health, so it's all fine

Those fish almost certainly died soon after. You can't treat trout like bass. You'll remove their protective slime in holding them like that, and they die a day or two later. Also squeezing them like that damages their organs. Also killing them later

correct @feathers. post poor handling. this is the problem with with you tube. it gets exposure of great streams to true anglers. but it also exposes the stream to those with no sense of the sensitivity of the trout or the streams. personally I only fly fish and always release. always wet hands before handling. handle with care. if the fight is a long one then revive and release.

Derik Close i get the poor handling thing, but these are Georgia waters... these fish all have a death sentence anyway. They do not survive or reproduce in any appreciable numbers.
Catch and release on wild trout? Sure. Not sure what the point is in waters where stocking is the only means of replenishment, unless you just want someone else to maybe catch the same fish.

Jon selman. obviously you dont know ga trout very well. the streams in north ga are perfect waters for natural trout reproduction. especially those small trout( brookies) that are the only true native trout in the Appalachian. but also the browns have been naturally reproducing for decades. rainbows as well in some streams I will not name as to keep spinner bait "fishermen" from destroying them.

I thought Dukes would be a difficult stream to fish and catch on. But, if you can go and catch fish on a $10.00 rod and reel on 10 pound test line while bumbling around yelling obscenities, I’ve got to go.

Dennis Mullens A great fisherman (not implying the TH-camr who posted this is one) could catch fish on anything. It’s a poor craftsman who blames his tools.

A small trout landing net would be beneficial for the trout health.

I've literally been trout fishing like 3 times and I know how to handle the fish. Wet hands, dont lip them, land with a net, keep out of water as little as possible. Just gotta read for like 10 mins to figure that stuff out

Trout are sensitive fish and they stress easily. Maybe consider handling them a little more gently? Congrats on a good day of fishing though!

"You're gonna kill him with a grip like that"
"Yeah but look at that he swam off"
That's like shooting a person in the back and saying "oh he is fine he kept running" lmao

The first fish that you thought was a chub is actually a Chattahoochee bass, a variant of the red eye bass. We’ve caught lots of them in Dukes

I have a question. How do any of you know that any trout is going to die days later because someone “rubbed off some slime”, or is this just another bullshit story like you live pinned to the side of a supersonic spinning water ball that’s in three elliptical orbits at ridiculous speeds?
