If student lean in their chairs I make them turn the chair around so when they lean backwards their is no back and they are less inclined to lean or they loose their chair and stand for a few minutes. They earn their chair back :)

I'm so glad companies are coming to you and sponsoring you! You deserve it, especially with a teacher salary I'm glad you're getting more sources of income. You're an awesome up and coming youtuber, keep it up!

is it weird that every time I watch your videos I want to be a teaching assistant? Seeing all the little things you do to keep a classroom running smoothly and watching them pile up makes me want to help!

Hello. Maybe have students help at the end of the day with cleaning up the class. They should be responsible for cleaning up after themselves and it helps you as well.

I have some students who always love to lean back or swing on their chair. The policy in my classroom is that after two warnings they lose their chair for the rest of the session, so basically they have to stand or kneel until the next break. It sounds mean but it works really well once the kids realize how uncomfortable it is to lean down over their table or kneel for an extended period. Hope this helps!

I have a lot of kids who lean back in their chairs. I bought chair bands they keep their feet busy so they don't lean back.

I am in contra costa county and we have the first two weeks of October off. It’s beautiful. Granted, we go back in late July though.

I remember in high school people would lean back in their chairs and break them just like that... Guess it just never ends

I don't know which video it was on but, I am current studying a bachelor of education. I'm doing a subject at the moment about resilience and I found your class meeting a great strategy which links to the resilience wheel as it gives students meaningful opportunities to share and teaches them social skills. I would love to pick your brain or any other teachers here in the comment on other resilience teaching strategies?

Kids who lean back in chairs can be solved in a couple ways. I call it leaning back “summoning the chair fairy”....she will come and take your chair so you have to sit on your knees. Also, if you have a class currency make leaning back cost A LOT. (Because it is a safety issue)
You can also have them turn around their chair so the back rests against the table/desk.

One of those backless stools would be better than the fun flexible seating options. In my opinion, he shouldn’t get a gun chair for being destructive.

Is it against school classroom policy to make them stand? That's what we were made to do if we leaned back in chairs or took the feet off the floor

Kids who lean back in chairs after being reminded several times stand up until they are ready to sit correctly.

    Mrs. Shelley ,
The best part about this is the fact that the service that you have done has been inspiring people to open up and being relatable .
You are an inspiration to people and that is the best thing .
Keep up with the awesome videos !!

Just a hint. It’s also a pet peeve of mine. I’m not trying to be mean, just want to give you a helpful hint. You should wear gloves, use a utensil or use a paper towel when you touch food. I’m sure you washed your hands, but I would still wear gloves. I also don’t let my students touch other students food. My students know I don’t allow them to lean back in their chairs. If I catch them they lose points.

Great video! I would’ve loved to have you as a teacher! Do you have any vegans that has to describe those foods? (Gelatin, animal milk, cheese, etc) Having cheese as a vegan tastes like stinky feet smell-I don’t even know how to describe it any better lol

I would make the student use that broken chair! Kind of like a stool. Not a reward, but no option to lean back. Otherwise I've taken the chairs away and made the student kneel or sit on the floor with a clipboard all day. To be honest though, I haven't found a hard and fast solution to the chair leaners.
