Just takes more time and practice, you got this! Good news is most of the stuff open on opening day was lower consequence so even if you case a jump it’s not going to be bad.
How was it in general? Thinking about making the trip out the weekend of the 22nd... Would you say it's worth the drive yet or should I wait until later in the season? Thanks in advance for the beta... and nice riding on the 'wire. Milo
Thanks ^•^ Overall pretty good, will be really good once the dirt packs in. Sounds like they opened more trails on Day 2 (Boondocks and River Styx). Probably going or not depends what trails you are looking to ride. I was hoping more of the double blacks would have been open on opening day.
You think I be crazy to take my 140 mm growler hard tail to North Star lol I do got modern geo lol definitely gonna stick to blue trails but how well maintained are the trails usually?
@@HD6SOCCER If you have both a hardtail and squish I recommend bringing both. Years ago, my buddy and I started the day out on our Chromags, then switched after lunch. The hardtail warmup trains the smooth lines into your brain, so when you switch to full suspension everything feels extra super smooth and you just fly down the trails.
Sweet rips bro! Gotta love all those back2back jumps can really get a lot of skill building packed into short time frame. Does it feel like the landings were too short? Looks like it's super easy to overshoot.
Amazing run. Without false modesty, I absolutely smashed Northstar this weekend on my short-travel trail bike (2023 Norco Optic, 150/130). But Livewire remains well beyond my skill level. My first run down Coaster, I took a wrong turn onto Livewire 4 and almost died from a crazy buck. Late, I did the first segment once and then took a right on Tryumph. PS: I hate those cinderblock berms. They just feel wrong.
@@travishealey yea some people like them and some people don't, its just it's a little bit hard to clear the second hip if you dont clear the first one
Nice bro. One day I will try to ride like you lol. I was there opening day too. Trying to overcome my fear. I was able to get jumps in this time tho.

Nice! What bike you on?

You are probably good! Northstar is usually always a good time!
@@travishealey oh for sure nice!

@@FurballMK3 oh haha I wish but good to hear others have rode hardtails out there
@HD6SOCCER Absolutely! Plenty of fun trails to hit on a hardtail out there.

Thanks! Yea, even with the dirt being super soft I was over shooting jumps. Will be worse once it packs in, time to start scrubbing the jumps!

You will get it, just keep practicing!
i went there last sunday and it was awesome, the only thing i didn't like about livewire is that they turned the tabletops into hip gaps
I really liked those new hips! Can’t wait for them to pack in, even though I cleared them they were soft.
@@travishealey yea some people like them and some people don't, its just it's a little bit hard to clear the second hip if you dont clear the first one
Man I thought you were about to go OTB at least 4 times lol
Yea got to scrub more! It will be fast once all the soft spots pack in. Might be too fast!
