  • In today’s video I invite you to follow along for a week in my life as I try to figure out how to juggle all the plates and still find time to enjoy family life! There will be LOTS of cleaning, a little decluttering, but also a date night, some lovely walks in nature, self care sessions, and a glimpse of our garden transformation! I hope you enjoy!

Remi, I’ve never commented on a TH-cam video before but the way your videos have changed my life over the past year or so is pretty drastic. Your attitude of gratitude has helped me fall in love completely with my life. I have such an incredible outlook on life now. You constantly pushing yourself to always do better has pushed me to go back to school even though I’ve been told not to bother. Your kindness and non judgmental nature continues to remind me to be kind to others always and pushes me to be kinder to myself. I know you probably won’t read this, but I wanted to try to let you know how much you’ve helped me. And how it really does feel like I’m listening to a friend, while I clean my apartment. You should be so proud of yourself. Thank you.

You are such an inspiration i have 2 teenage children at home and 2 older children who are neurodivergent, i am also neurodivergent and have poor mobility,, it is hard but you have shown me that it is ok if you have a bit of a messy house and you can forgive yourself, I am the same as you is it and wait for the appointment later in the day, but I can't get motivated in a morning so its a real struggle, but if I have someone coming round I can get my whole house done in record time, you should be proud or yourself and your amazing family can not wait to see what the future holds for you, keep being real its so refreshing x

I'm probably in the minority of your viewer demographic but i just wanted to say Thankyou Remi! I'm a 30-something man who is a former British Soldier. Suffered with depression and aniexty for over a decade now. A byproduct of this is trashing my house to the point of no return and wondering how on earth a man who could previously be so Regimental would allow his home to get so disgusting. Your videos have helped me take back control of my home. And make it a place for my children to come and visit. Couldnt of done it without your honest videos. Cheers 🖤

@remiclog Thank you for taking the time to respond. It was actually my ex-partner who recommended your videos to me. At first, I laughed it off. But when I actually gave them a go, it was your honest, no filter approach that really connected to me. Keep up the hard work. From the bottom of me heart Thank-you so much 💂🏻‍♀️🖤

A lot of us have the same thoughts and issues. Be kinder to yourself. Being from America (Texas), I just don't understand the lack of clothes dryers in European countries. I appreciate line drying outside, but waiting for the clothes to dry inside the house would drive me crazy. Or do you have a special room in the house for drying clothes?

I woke up this morning mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted. When I saw the state of the house I cried and couldn’t stop. I made myself a coffee and had breakfast, a feat in itself with how messy they kitchen was, and then I opened YT to put on some of your videos to body double with, as that really helps me. When I saw you had dropped a new video, especially with the title of this one, you have no idea how much of a boost this gave me. My younger son is autistic. I have had so many people tell me if I would just be a better mother he would be perfectly normal. And usually while they are raising spoiled entitled brats. Everyone thinks they have to right to judge but don't want to be judged themselves. It is hard to ignore such people but your family is your priority. I go literal weeks without leaving my flat, I'm a full time student in Canada (terrible economy here) working 2 jobs and cleaning constantly and never letting myself live in the moment. This was a good reminder to take a walk tomorrow and to let myself enjoy things even if it isn't productive. This channel feels the most "real" on all of TH-cam.

You are absolutely seen and heard, my friend! I wish you could be as patient and kind with yourself as you are with everyone else! ❤ As a mother of 3, I can assure you that one person cannot keep up with the clutter of 4! Especially when they're still little! You just can't. And you are 100% right making the time with your kids as top priority. My kids are all grown now. I have more than enough time to clean to my heart's content. And when they visit, they never ever say "Remember when we were kids and the house was so cluttered?". What they say is "Remember when we used to make the blanket fort and read books inside it? Remember you used to give us 10 minutes to get all of our toys into the toybox while you played funny music, but every time you paused the music we had to freeze in whatever position we were in? "

Remi, this is a great video. And as always, your voice is so calm and soothing ❤.
My health has stopped me being able to get the housework done, so I now have a cleaner come every fortnight. It's not what I would have chosen, but it helps me so much, and then your videos help me want to keep on top of it. It's so important to advocate for yourself medically, so thank you fir talking about that.
So nice to see Charlie, and I hope you had a wonderful date night ❤. You looked gorgeous 🥰.
You've done a great job with the garden! You are right to be proud of yourself 💪🏼.
Self care looks different for different people, so keep doing what is important to you, and enjoy that lovely garden and relaxing bedroom 😘

I just want to tell you that you are doing great. I very much struggle to stay motivated and feel constantly guilty for not keeping a better home and I don't even have children! Just waking up and getting through the day when you have a diagnosis is an achievement though and I have to remind myself of that. I work full time and when I come home the last thing I want to do is start cleaning and all I actually want to do is be present in my own head and reset myself so that I am able to cope with leaving the house the next day. I happened across your channel a couple of weeks ago and tbh it was your accent that stopped me in my tracks as I think you probably hail from a similar place to where I grew up. I have not lived up there for many, many years but can't help but feel comforted by it!

I do that ‘waiting’ thing too that you talked about. If I work a half day I’d far rather do a morning and be free to do whatever I want afterwards than do an afternoon when much of the morning is wasted waiting for it to be time to go to work!
You’re such an inspiration Remi and you work so hard. I think you have far,far too many clothes ( or the boys do). I’m sure they would be happy with a quarter of the clothes and you would have so much less laundry and putting away to do.

Your tips are amazing, I always clean more when I clean with you❤❤❤!!! Tackling several rooms at once is a game changer for me. Before, it would take me all day to just do one spot (of course i would sit down) and then I would hyperfocus and get frustrated that the rest of the house was a mess. Then i would feel guilty that i didnt take my 3 kids out and they were bored

Remi, I can understand that some people just can't function like others. I listened to you saying the usual stuff people tell you to do to try keep on top. I just wanted to ask have you tried writing a list of things to get done daily, appointments you have etc. Do you put a load of washing on every day? I usually pack/unpack dishwasher or clean kitchen when I'm waiting for toaster to finish- 3mins or kettle to boil. I take rubbish out. It's so hard to not get distracted by things you see if you go from room to room putting away. It can take months or years to train yourself the way it may work best for you. It's hard to tackle things when you are hormonal too. I hear everyone says don't put it down, put it away.

Concerning the packing peanuts that your kids spilled yesterday: they areawesone for crafting, if they are the ones made of cornstarch, because they stick to each other when moistened. Awesome for big constructions or filling pictures! Havnt senn them in years except in Germany where they are an expensive toy for kids.

Remi is sounds so silly but I am SO PROUD of you !!! Children are more important than a perfect house ! I have been watching you for quite a while now. You have a brilliant outlook on life. I’m 74 and retired but my lovely daughter and her husband and 2 children live in a big house with my husband and and myself. My days are never boring and everyone says I don’t act my age. There is so much life in this house along with our 100 pound dog ! Busy is good ! I’m still picking up toys and it seems like we don’t get caught up but I have a clean kitchen and bathroom. And I notice you do the same. If that’s done then toys can wait for a bit. The laundry just barely gets caught up and then another messy day happens. But as my husband says , you can’t eat a dinosaur in one bite. You’re doing great !! And you work a job outside of the home as well ! You need a shirt with a giant ‘S’ on the chest for supermom !!!! I had four children and also have the separation of my abdominal muscles. I was always too scared to have surgery to repair it so my doctor told me to get an elastic belly support that fastens with Velcro and it supports my insides while taking away the pain in my back. Maybe you could try that ? I could exercise and do sit-ups forever for my abs but nothing worked. The support really helped me maybe something similar would be for you ? Just a thought. The backyard looks absolutely wonderful ! Good job !!!! Just a note on your sand box ( that’s what we call them in the US ) maybe tie a clothesline around the perimeter of the box and when you put the cover on, use clothes pins to secure the top to the rope/line you tie around the top of the sand box. Maybe that will keep the cover from popping off. We also had a sand box and the cover would magically come off and, yes, there are neighborhood cats that you want to keep out of the sand. Maybe that could help and if not you just got more pins for the wash ! Keep up the great videos and I so look forward to more in the future 😊

I love that you make them and voiceover them telling us your inner thoughts because I resonate with them so much! BUT… This one this video… I’m on day one 8 minutes in and I have felt every word you have spoken so far! I paused to write this comment when you are cleaning tge second load of dishes and are talking about modes you go in and out of and how they don’t cross over! This was mind blowing for me! I came here to say thank you for making these and sharing them with the world so others can feel seen and heard! ❤️

I’m not disappointed in your cabinet filled with clutter! I do it all the time, but I notice that even if it looks horrible, it really isn’t as bad each time I go back to clean it out 🙈 I can tell that the decluttering efforts make a difference each time! And I do the same thing with hiding things to give the illusion of being tidy lmao 🙈💖 sometimes I think the brief illusion of tidiness does give me a mental relief and boost that can be valuable sometimes!

I know im the oddball here. i never met some to spend life with, but job losses caused a lot of mental anguish 8months before i got a job. now im disabled since 2012 with arthritis. not allowed to climb ladders. so everything needs to be in reach. I've been decluttering since 2015. (a few rats that got in and destroyed some things and an apt flood from broken toilet while i was gone for a weekend.) but i continue to reduce so i can handle it, i have no family close to me, (well, theres a few but caught in themselves to even visit) but i just keep putting 1 foot in front of the other. continuing to reduce has really helped. in the end, things really arent so important people are. prayers for you. 🙏🙏💗💗🤗🤗🌻🌻🌿🌿🥤🥤👏👏

      Hi @lisaann6267,
I maybe an oddball here also 😅
I never found anyone to spend life with either. Thank goodness I have my sweet cat to keep me company. I can relate to the family issues. Mine rarely call anymore and never visit. Yes, I keep putting one foot in front of the other. I have been reducing items in my home. I was doing well with that until I decided to sell some sentimental things. Decided I changed my mind, bought the things back except for one thing that already sold. Been searching Ebay for a year but still haven't found a replacement.
But like you say, in the end it's not things that are important, it's people and our pets.

I have ADHD too and I can totally relate with what you say. It makes me so sad that I cant keep the house tidy and clean. :-( For years I had been telling myself that once my flat was decluttered and tidy I could finallly start living.. It turned out that I never reached that goal. So now I started to live and just do what I can and take care of my kids AND do some selfcare too.

I'm watching one day, then going off and doing some bits, then the next day and so on and it's helped me no end today.
So far in the day one video, i've noticed the chair that Ike pulled out to get his apple which you then had to stop and peel, and a boys swim suit hung on the airer to dry, showing that someones been having fun in the water which creates more jobs for you to do but also shows youve been spending precious moments with your babies ❤ you're a wonderful Mother xx
