one thing i like to do when i sigma ult is place my shield right before i ult so i can use it to protect myself
Yup same with rock it’s good to use your cooldowns before ult
Yeah pretty important when playing against Ana or roadhog, but place your shield behind you if you are playing against a sombra

that time a sigma lifted me up to the perfect sniping position
Seeing an enemy Sigma makes me feel actual, legitimate fear.
I was playing sigma yesterday for like 10 games and I was rolling with him, it's like playing a supervillain. then I encountered a sigma in the other team and I legit felt fear

@@gorebutt Unless your healers are working overtime, you're pretty much doomed. Any good Sigma will know exactly how and when to use it and break everyone's ankles in a mere second.
@@Nachtiu2 definitely. I wont ever forget the first time i heard his ult line and i was just in complete utter shock when i got lifted then slammed. Just hearing his ult voice line still gives me a weird feeling on my back sometimes

I said this because sigmas shield is primarily meant to be used selfishly on yourself. It’s not like reins it doesn’t have a ton of health

@@Atlas_high-gaming It does tho? The only situation that makes Rein's shield look fragile is you walking into an entire team and allowing them gun you down its 1200 hp literally the most health in the game
@@kingjotaro9420 you must be new, it had a ton of health back at the start when it had 2000. When you come up against actually competent players, the trade of doing literally nothing to have a shield up when all other shield heros keep doing their dmg and abilities is not worth it. They nerfed reins shield twice while uping many characters dmg during the barrier breaking couple seasons near the end of overwatch. Then the switch to overwatch 2 they only nerfed his barrier down 400 to 1200 while also removing the other tank that old overwatch rein depended on. Now he has almost half his original barrier health and has to block all the dmg. That and the bs about his charge nerf.
@@Atlas_high-gaming it still has the most shield health in the game regardless played selfishly his shield is his best survivability tool if your shield is getting fried by a team shot then yeah 1200 aint much i do miss the thicc rein shield though

Another tip: with his sheild, you can shoot through it from either side, while enemies cannot shoot through it no matter what. If you don't have cover and are being pushed you can just merry-go-round it

I shield dance with other sigmas all the time
I do this a lot with genji's, their dash is a problem though, but nothing beats goin round and round my shield and throw a fucking rock at his face

I love throwing my barrier at fara when she uses her ultimate

A good tip is also to deploy your shield in the air in front of you during Sigma’s ult so you can’t get killed or CC’d
Biggest sigma tips i can give are to learn his maximum range on primary fire and abuse it. The best thing about sig is his ability to deny high ground and corners by using his max range ball splash damage. The next tip is that its often a better idea to keep shield in your pocket so you can block big abilitys like earth shatter, pharah barrage, or hog hook on reaction. Shield comes out instantly, but retracting it leaves it unavailable for 2 seconds. So in certain match ups its better to save it for when you really need it.

As someone who started playing Sigma after seeing this the third tip is really helpful. Especially when it culminates into a team kill
The tip about isolating enemy support/dps from the rest of the team is really smart. Sadly in my games they just pass through it like it's nothing and manage to kill me xd
Don’t forget giving the barrier to a widow early in a fight. It’s super good for the early challenges against another widow. It’s super easy to force a swap that way.

Pro tip: you can send your shield into space because it has infinite range for some stupid reason

Sigma is dependent on a couple of key traits:
- Positioning
- Game Sense
Sigma can dominate with or without a team because of his high damage, negation of abilities with shield and suck, and amazing ult. However, having good game sense is helpful as well. This can help you prevent Hogs, Flankers, or Nano’d enemies from contributing because you have every tool to deal with them. Sigma is a game manager.

Sigma is very strong, it's too bad that my team runs infront of me constantly and I dont have the movement speed to save them from themselves. Theres only so much my barrier can do when my dps keeps 1v5ing
You forgot to mention that when getting more than 2 kills or are using your ult you have to scream “WHAT IS THAT MELODY” as loud as humanly possible
Also be sure to spam "I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation" whenever possible,
It increases your ULT damage by 1% every time you use it, trust me.

The only habit I have is forgetting my barrier

One thing a lot of people seem to forget is that Sigma's rock actually stuns enemys out of most projectile absorbing abilities, like Genji's deflect, Orisa's spinny thing or even Sigma's own absorption ability.

About the barrier usage, something I learned from my coach during 4k scrims back when I scrimmed as an off tank player was to use my barrier to block enemy cooldowns; you don't just randomly put them up and down whenever unless to regen barrier health. Cooldowns such as Ana nade/sleep, Hog hook, Sig rock, etc.
the biggest mistake new sigma players make is not typing "sigma balls" on all chat every time they hit an enemy with accretion
I hit the craziest sigma 5k and just got this in my FYP. TH-cam is stalking me
Sigma's shield is the fastest (and funnest) way to disarm a Hammond mine field ult.
Sigma ult takes half of heroes HP bar, so if you see one person is already half, aim at someone else, so you can get more than one kill confirmed.
All of these are great tips. I love playing sigma, as long as the support is good, hes unstoppable it feels. Using the shield to keep snipers off the team, and to isolate is super effective, and cycling your gravataional shield and your traditional shield leaves your team with protection almost 100 percent of the time. All three of his tacticals can be used in some way to protect the supports if thwy are rushed
I like to use the barrier to clear out wecking ball mines if my team's dps is busy or dead.
I have a 4th bad habit. Picking him and not using his talon skin to hide his nasty feet
5th bad habit, pocking him over chad reinhardt

Can't believe he didn't add this:
When you use your ultimate, once you activate it, you DO NOT NEED TOO SEE IT.
Target a spot, and move around a corner to prevent cc.
If they have a someone who can stun/silence you in ult make sure to hide behind cover from that enemy while in ult.
Also warn teammates that might be able to help you pick off targets that get caught in your ult. Sigma ult + a sniper is an ez team kill
I just started to main sigma and this short helped so much especially the one about taking the barrier back
My favorite thing is rocking a charging rein or shield up when he tries to hammer down. I'm sure it's trickier to time in ranked but it's a blast in qp.

I taught myself all of these techniques shortly after picking Sigma up and I'm glad to see that I'm using him properly. Also nice to use his shield in close-range 1v1s since you can just keep passing through it back and forth to make it a lot harder for whoever you're fighting to get successful shots on you.

Another thing is that you must remember to put away your shield when you leave a fight so it’s not at low charge
As a sigma main, im constantly flashing my shield
I would like to add as well that its a good idea to put your sheild up where you intend on flying before ulting, so you dont just get killed in ult
Also if you place down your sheildd in front of a DVa ULT you will survive if placed right
I feel like all comp players need to watch this guy. Every single game I play I have 1 or 2 people being stupid

Save your barrier for Rein Shatter as well most reins are predictable

You can use his ult to scale high ground quickly too. Obviously don't use it just for that, but an example is like the houses near the spawns on colloseo. The window on the upper floor is literally the perfect height to float into to have high ground for when your ultimate ends
Another tip is that if you think you're gonna get killed when Ulting, you can place your shield up where you're going to hover. But it's a giveaway if people are paying attention
When in a close range fight with sig punch after every shot for higher dps
A better tip for sigma's ult (coming from a sigma main): The moment you use your ult spam the primary button and you will be able to fire 4 "balls" on your enemy while they are still in the air.
hold left click as you ultimate, it’ll cancel the orb animation but still come out so you get an extra set of orbs for damage
I thought I was the only one who used the wall to isolate supports and DPS for a free kill

My bad habit is the moment I see a bastion on the other team I instantly switch to sigma and absorb everything he throws at me including his ult

Sigs shield is also good for taking out wreckingballs ult quick if your fine with breaking your shield for a bit.
I remember when you could instantly cast shield after recalling it. Now the moment you drop it, the enemy team gets 3 picks, you get stunned, shattered and hacked and there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it, because there's like a 5 second cooldown.
My bad habit as sigma is combining his ult with space bar everytime, I can't sigma ult without flying and I can't stop.
You can float upwards in your ult if you hold jump :)
One strat I tend to use with sigma is throwing out my shield and once the enemies start shooting at it, I pull the shield down and use the absorption ability. Most people don't notice in time so they end up feeding it.
That’s useful sometimes but you should be using suck to take useful abilities not spam damage.
Personally wish they'd remove the cool down on the barrier so it'd be like it was on his release

when i first started playing overwatch 2 the last tip was a force of habit that i did but thanks for the other 2
I used sigma to fully counter widow maker mains, the shield really helped my teammate survive its headshots
dang, i knew about pulling the barrier to preserve its hp but I never even thought to use it to cut off their supports

actually if you aim properly only one primary fire is enough to kill a squishy hit by your ultimate (if he isn’t being healed)
so if you aim for one squishy in the air and one another right after the slam you might be able to take down two people at once.
(this remains theoretical as enemy heals are to be considerated but your allies dps is also supposed to exist)
i am also surprised there isnt any tip about trying to optimise your primary fire bounces to help you improve your damage (as it is kinda hard to aim with this sh*t)
1- I always retract my barrier to recharge it when necessary.
2- I'll admit this is something I do, but I kind of substitute it for the Kinetic Grasp to absorb sleep darts and ultimates.
3- This is something I'm getting better at, but I usually forget to do. It's sometimes better to immobilise your target and topple their balance instead.
I like playing sigma offensively and using the barrier to cut off points and use my black hole shield to make space
You’re missing a key point here if it’s in overtime and you’re pushing the cart with the ult you can get them off just enough time so you win the game
