I’d like to add that my white male uncle was diagnosed with lupus before he passed away. It doesn’t take Ethan out of the case just bc he’s not an African American woman. Can we also talk about the fact that Jake is pushing eczema when, if that was the case, it would have been diagnosed by now and wouldn’t be still a mystery?! Jake isn’t a doctor and he needs to stop.
It's absolutely nonsense logic, all diseases are more common in certain demographics, that doesn't mean less common demos have to be careful around talking about the disorder. Also because its more common in certain demos doesn't even suggest it's unlikely in others; women are 8x more likely to get Lupus than men, but Lupus is not considered rare in men.
of course he teases the video and releases it right at the start of their break. then makes the b move of hiding it right while theyre talking about it on the shows return. Most obvious attention grab of them all. and sad attempt to syphon viewers off a larger channel.
Also they revealed on the show that he has been messaging all of the crew trying to get them to collab too. AB actually did a video with him and he looked so uncomfortable
Just because ethan cant pronounce ulcerative colitis, then that means auto immune diseases don't run in his family??? Like what? If he watches the show as much as he says he does, then he would know that ethan CONSTANTLY mispronounces words, like in almost every show hahaha
I think this is also part of the reason for hesitancy to seek care. Making people feel like they’re not smart enough for something that a health care provider would be specialized in is unfair.
Fanfic couldnt be more correct. He's had 2 schemes throughout the years to try to get hired by the H3 Podcast (which obviously failed lol) and was always in the live chat super chatting hundreds of dollars thanking Ethan for what he does.
"Turning health issues into content while undermining other peoples' experiences is a huge problem". He says in his video turning someone else's health issues into content while undermining someone else's experiences.
Jake Doolittle is the same as nickisnotgreen, ethanisonline and kuncan dastner. They all morally grandstand and get up on their high horse while taking everything in bad faith. They also have this smug “I’m better than you” vibe. It’s annoying to say the least.
I don’t know if Kuncan is in the same vein here, he usually has more nuanced takes than the rest of them, though a little bit of moral superiority may still be inherent there
Vindictive too. Using cancel culture and progressive framing to send lynch mobs after people they personally dislike. Jake is mad he didn't get hired by H3 or get the collabs he wanted, so now he profits off of slandering him. These guys are a dime a dozen and their fans eat it up because they present like they're harmless and acting from a morally pure place, when they're the furthest thing from it.
This is so ridiculous. As someone who is definitely not a hypochondriac, I spent the last year going to the dr so many times I can't count, trying to find a diagnosis for mild, but not normal things that had started happening (joint pain, and other symptoms). The very first visit I told my dr "I am working days and nights, I get maybe 4 hours of sleep, I'm in the worst shape of my life and I weigh the most I ever have. I would be ok with you determining this is stress and lack of sleep". He disagreed, and he sent me to the gastroenterologist, rheumatologist, the neurologist, had MRIs (to rule out MS), had a colonoscopy bc of an abnormal test result suggesting cancer, back to the gastro, back to neurology, settled on fibromyalgia which I was fine with but to me didn't really seem to fit. Then saw a different doctor who said "stress, lack of exercise, lack of sleep, and IBS". Made sense, and I'm happy with the conclusion. But along the way, every step of the way, I was like "I mean, I don't think I have MS, but my dr's worried about it so maybe I do?" "Oh geez what do these numbers mean...? Google says either chrons, colitis, or cancer. We ruled out chrons and colitis... Oh crap I really hope I don't have cancer" (cue me stressing about cancer until the colonoscopy), getting the fibromyalgia diagnosis then immediately getting sick with symptoms that can happen with fibromyalgia and having a meltdown that this might be the rest of my life, before realizing I was independently sick, etc. The point is, we don't know these things. I was constantly informed of things that made me go "oh wow, I didn't know MS could present like this", and the process of diagnosis for things like that can be an absolute roller coaster which is NORMAL. And with many of these things, like cancer, if you aren't vigilant about it, if you aren't a bit of a "hypochondriac", the time wasted can literally cost you your life. On top of all of that, talking about these possibilities helps you cope. Taking about what if I *do* have cancer helps you process the small, but very scary, possibility that that could be your future. And that is normal too. He isn't abusing the system, he is open to being wrong, and he is being realistic about his symptoms. Lastly, just because you had a particular experience getting your diagnosis, doesn't mean it is even remotely like someone else's experience. What an asinine topic to spend an entire video criticizing someone over. *edit: typos
I had bouts where I could barely breathe due to gerd. I had no heartburn so I had no idea what was happening. Went through all of college where stress made it significantly worse. My parents kept telling me it’s allergies and to quit being a hypochondriac about it the entire time I was struggling with it. I had taken allergy meds and they did nothing for me After 7 years of going through it and it only kept getting worse with time, I decided enough was enough, I went to a doctor and they referred me to different tests back and forth for 2 years and we finally found out that I had a massive hernia in my stomach and my esophagus had grown numb to acid reflux so I couldn’t feel anything anymore. I had to get it fixed surgically and it only would’ve gotten worse over time. I swear when people call others a hypochondriac over something happening to them that is clearly not normal and gets in the way of regular life, it’s toxic. It’s like gaslighting someone over their own personal experiences like they know better and I hate it. The sad thing is it’s socially acceptable to do that and to tell others they’re just being whiny. Albeit sometimes they really are whining, but other times it’s genuine and people can’t seem to tell the difference
My best friends dad was telling everyone he was dying he didn’t get out of bed, he thought something terrible was wrong the doctors couldn’t find anything. They though he just had anxiety. He end up having sleep apnea. He is feeling much better since the diagnosis & getting the machine. He wasn’t even using google.
Just wanna say my heart goes out to you for everything you went through. And you’ve had the most perfect descriptor of this whole situation. It is truly asinine
Agreed. I was diagnosed with MS last year, I'd had symptoms for a long time my neuro I was seeing never said it could be that. Googling my symptoms brought up MS a lot, but also pinched nerves, stress, etc etc. I have PTSD and an MTBI from Afghanistan so I already had tons of issues so I coped by saying things like "wh it's probably one of the number of other diagnosis I have." Wasn't until I got a new neuro who actually paid closer attention and told me I'd had MS since 2017 my old neuro just didn't say anything for some reason. I'm a white 33 year old male, and my neuro was a VA neuro so maybe he thought it wasn't thay? Idk, but I coped by trying to think of every possibility other than MS. Was Diagnosed with MS the literal same day my dad passed away so on top of the roller coaster of a diagnosis I had that, made some wild shit feelings come up. Medical debts, death debts, it all wove into one that I'm still dealing with. To discount someone else's expierence because YOURS was different is like you said, asinine. My heart goes out to you man, and I hope yout doing well. Edit to apologize for typos and shit. My MS causes lack of feeling in my hands so shits hard lol.
Not 2 mention Ethan has 2 kids with a baby in the way….. like maybe he’s also extra stressed bc he has kids to look after !!!!!!! Jake is such a child for this
Ok so Ethan is wrong for taking medical anxiety advice from Chat GPT but this guy thinks it’s better to get your advice from some random superchatter saying they’re a nurse for $2.79. This guy is brain dead 19:55
literally this! A superchatter or him (Jake) he should listen to instead of his doctor or any other medical professional who has full and direct access to his full medical profile. LOL
Jake Doolittle spends all his time smugly virtue bullying. He’s the same type of “content” “creator” as nickisnotgreen and ethanisonline. He’s only ever had bad takes; it’s almost astonishing he’s cultivated an audience.
These people all come out of the same woke scold crowd of losers on the left. You're not allowed to use dark humor, you're not allowed to make fun of anyone even lightheartedly, you're not even allowed to make fun of yourself even if it's to cope with your own situation. You'll always see people like this guy attack people on his side for clout and excuse it with them not virtue signalling hard enough, but rarely go after anyone on the right. People like this crybully are worthless hindrances
As a former member of his audience I couldn’t agree more. I started watching over a year ago when he was covering Shane Dawson pretty heavily. I actually liked his commentary but as time went on I feel like his ego grew and his content became so mean spirited and made me feel gross. I stopped watching for a while and saw the Ethan video get posted. I started it and could only get like 5 minutes in and was like “yeah no this guy is just not for me anymore” He also has a concerning bad habit of being really over the top cruel to creators he feels personality betrayed or slighted by (shane, Ethan, Trisha)
i love how he complains about Ethan pronouncing ANA as anna but in the next episode ethan says it correctly its almost as if Ethan is talking about this on his stream as he is learning from his doctors and personal research and it shouldn't be taken seriously until ethan says hes been officially diagnosed
I think a helpful context would be also that Jake called into the H3 podcast live because he was screwed over by the Dimelo's. Ethan said he would look over his resume but nothing every came of it. I think he might also be a little salty.
I'm praying that in 2024 that these types of commentary channels fall off and never come back. Literally the most disproportional and virtue signally content EVER
it's sad bruh because jake doolittles live content is so funny-- hes a very blunt and out of pocket reaction guy like papa gut a little bit and i enjoy watching his stuff but idek why this video was made to be honest
Gatekeeping medical diagnoses is insane and Jake is not the person to question Ethan’s medical journey. I’m fine with criticism but it’s crazy for Jake to acknowledge the complexity of lupus diagnoses but to chastise Ethan for wanting to get answers.
I was a fan of jake as well as Ethan and as someone with chronic illnesses myself... Im disgusted with Jake. He out of everyone should know just how difficult this stuff is and how awful it is to have people constantly judge you, gatekeep and claim that you are lying about your health. Jake is intentionally twisting stuff and straight up lying. Anyone who doesn't watch h3 could watch jakes video and just believe everything hes saying 🤦🏻♀️. Saying Ethan is doing it to make money from fans is weird, people on livestreams anywhere pay for superchats to get their message read/discussed. Then theres the fact than ethan has been paying off fans medical bills for the past few months because he recognises how privileged he is being able to pay for his healthcare. As for health insurance, he asked his staff in the same episode jake clipped if they want to change insurance providers. Those of us will chronic illnesses or even just health worries often cope with humour which is what Ethan does... Jake also does this! The whole chat gpt thing is a bit and Jake knows this since he was such a big fan. As someone who was subscribed to Jake ... His sense of humour is even more off the rails than Ethan's. This whole thing just comes off as malicious. 😂
The fact that this guy gate keeps chronic illnesses is freaking hilarious to me. As someone who was misdiagnosed for half my life. Being told as a woman it’s just “anxiety” or “depression” and then I get those things addressed with therapy and medication. Still having chronic health problems. I can understand Ethan’s determination to solve his own health problems. I can understand that anxiety to solve a chronic problem if you feel horrible and don’t know why. I also agree with papa gut that Ethan shouldn’t talk about aspects of his personal life and health. I think that’s just Ethan’s way of venting his anxiety with his stream, but I think he should talk to a psychologist about his health anxiety instead. This dudes take saying he’s ebegging for money from donations is incredibly stupid. Ethan is already incredibly well off.. like what?
and to be fair: i did a lot of intensive research and have been right with my self diagnoses. I knew I had endometriosis and got diagnosed 4 years ago now. I knew I had pots and just recently got diagnosed. I knew my septum was deviated and had surgery last december to get it fixed - because I actually was right. If you know something isn't right with your body, you cling on to any lead that might bring you closer to a diagnosis and even being wrong about something and being able to cross that off the list brings you closer. I dont see why that is wrong. and yeah, talking speculations on his stream as if he is talking to a good friend (which tbf that's what a podcast is) might not be the best way to go, but then again, it is a podcast talking to his friends after all
I have health anxiety and can really sympathize with Ethan. I get a headache and think I have a tumor. Venting about my fears can really help me understand how I'm overreacting and calm me down.
It's weird because Ethan is well aware about his anxiety and uses it for humor on the podcast, instead of obsessing over it. Idk how that was missed before making this whole hit piece
Yeah, as a viewer it was very clear to me that Ethan was just anxious. Jake points out that Ethan's results aren't that bad, but that's not how anxiety works!
he has in fact explicitly stated that since he has kids, he's been worried about his own health because he wants to see them grow up and find themselves. it was basically the whole reason he decided to lose the weight again! this man just wants so badly to make sure he's okay so he can be there for his boys and jake thought it was malicious grifting. shameful.
I've had that so much with my heart the last two years ever since I got electrocuted on both hands simultaneously (so it bridged accross my body) while fixing a washing machine... we called an ambulance and they did an ERG (I think that's what it was?) and it said I was fine. But sometimes my heart skips beats, beats erratically, or I will have pain that's probably just digestion and I'll think it's my heart lol. The worst thing is it causes so much anxiety, then the anxiety makes all of this stuff happen more so it's a feedback loop :( for the most part all of this stuff seems related to anxiety though, and possibly opioid medication too.
I watched pretty much every episode they made last year, and it was pretty obvious that he was being silly. He even kept saying, he forgot to mention the most likely option, that is that he is fine. Also, he has paid a bunch of fans med bills too.
People donating are aware they’re donating to the show, not a charity aiding in Ethan’s health. So why would he feel guilty taking donations from people with an actual diagnosis? Comes across like he’s gatekeeping being actually sick.
also, important context is that he didn't talk about it all on 1 pod, it would be like 15 minutes every week with different updates AND it just became a running joke because the whole crew knew he was being a bit over paranoid about it being lupus, so much so that Olivia even told him she hopes he gets lupas as If it were a toy he'd been wanting.....but apparently Jake doesn't get sarcasm
Nurses who used to work for Kaiser have posted online about Kaiser pushing families to substandard care to save money. Health systems that have their own insurance is such a bad idea. Conflicts of interest everywhere. Sorry you're having to deal with that.
anyone, who actually kept up with ethans health updates, can tell that he's main too two setting are being genuinely worried and flailing around bc of his anxiety over it or just being a (self-admitted) dumbass, leaning into the chaos of it for comedy. if you're such a fan, you'd KNOW neither of these are that deep... but taking these and making a buzzword ridden moral high grounding hit piece out of it is terminally online bad-faith leftie-brained at best or straight up malicious at worst - lmao edit: i commented before half time bc i already got bad vibes, but i was kinda iffy abt a crew member calling him insane - it sounded too harsh, i couldnt imagine why any of them wld have said that. im over half time and i get it now. this is insane, he's either lost the commentary plot or he's a try-hard hate-wave rider, no inbetween, lol
He also conviniently failed to include the several times ethan was very self aware about how much easier his wealth made the whole process, and even ended up paying several fans' medical bills
Judging by the comments, this guy probably has horrible skeletons in his closet considering how it's always those who virtue signal the much, the ones who are constantly trying to show others how much of a good person they are, that turn out to be some of the worst people imaginable.
I think it's true people that are always displaying how good they are instead of just letting people make their own conclusions after getting to know them are suspect
Okay, I super dislike Ethan but this is ridiculous. This dude took something so benign and spun it into drama that didn’t exist. Ethan has plenty of things about him that can be criticized and this isn’t one of them.
for jake to be able to attribute malice to ethans actions here, we have to assume ethan is an evil person who knows that he is totally ok and is lying to his whole audience for months. I think jake might be salty i heard he was denied a job on the podcast after begging for a job
Ethan is ashkenazi jew.... the amount of health problems/diseases/cancers associated with those genetics.... That is a HUGE point at the start of this whole "health" thing with Ethan. It's weird how that point isn't mentioned at all in this video. Also that is why Zach said in the one clip he was going to go get blood tests now. Because Zach is like 99% Ashkenazi jew. And has a higher risk then normal for a lot of health problems....
It's like Jake is gatekeeping chronic illness. I know that's harsh, but it makes sense if chronic illness has been a big part of his life/identity - he's gonna be sensitive to what he thinks is wrong or criticise what doesn't line up with his experience. It seems to me like this would add to the stigma that people with chronic illness face that they're making up/exaggerating their symptoms or that they're a hypochondriac. I've dealt with health anxiety so maybe I'm biased, but I can see where Ethan is coming from. I disagree with him discussing things publicly, but then maybe he thought that viewers would be able to help him out with advice to ease his mind. Idk I don't watch Ethan or Jake's content but I think Jake's video was unnecessary
To be fair to you, Jake is definitely biased so using your experience to counter is also fair. Either you both can provide your personal experience and it’s valid or it should be tossed out because of bias. Also Ethan has other health conditions so I get being vigilant about health and having anxiousness around it.
As a hypochondriac who gets psychosomatic symptoms from fear and anxiety every time I get sick or get odd test results, I definitely behave like Ethan from time to time. Maybe he overdramatizes it but I've behaved in the exact same way in the past 🤷🏼♀️
Gatekeeping chronic illness is such a fucking nasty thing. Ethan is clearly struggling with some form of autoimmune issue(s), and Jake's like "no, no, no ☝️, im the only one allowed to get sympathy for being sick." Also- I have IBD (the autoimmue immune disease that Ethans mom has & Ethan is being tested for), the face rashes, fatigue, weird bowel issues, blood work & fecal tests are literally textbook IBD. He was anxious, searching for answers & venting. Fuck this gatekeeping.
Good faith of Papa to assume Jake has Lupus - he has Lyme disease. I guess they are shitty diseases to have both, but still takes floor out of him having specific right to criticize Ethan for joking about having same disease as him. I don't think he's ever gone very hard on MrBeast. To this day he says he watches all his videos, is bit of a fan. It just feels like juicy topic when there's any drama around him so he does it. I guess I can see why someone wouldn't like those segments given there's never been any serious issue with MrBeast.
Holy shit I had to turn it off. The problem seems to be "Man with audience talks through stress with audience" but with all sorts of buzzwords and "he's rich so he doesn't have problems" sprinkled in. I feel dumber. A few years ago I had some medical issues pop out of nowhere. I went through this stuff too, but the opposite. I had x-rays, bloodwork, genetic tests done and all of it came back clean. But I still had new sypmtoms appearing every week that lined up with Lupus and I was SURE I had it. One day it all just disappeared and I dropped it and felt better. Still have some of it pop up once in a while. Obviously while I was going through it I talked to my wife about it, and fortunately I only mentioned it to one other person. Ethan was concerned for his health and talked through it one his podcast. Who gives a shit, did this guy completely run out of video ideas?
Jake's take is wild. The most annoying point that he keeps making is that Ethan is taking people's money. As if Ethan can control who sends super chats and how much. He never asked for super chats and I doubt it is much more than a normal day. They get tons of super chats daily.
As much as there is to criticize about H3, I can see why sometimes he dismisses real criticism because it’s hard to differentiate when there are so many reach takes, so it’s easier to just dismiss all of it than look into every situation.
Jake has a concerning trend on hating on TH-camrs he feels have personally slighted him somehow. I watched a lot of Jake when he covered basically ever thing Shane Dawson still had publically available. He literally made SO MANY videos on Shane and reiterated throughout how Jake used to love him and be a huge fan. Regardless of Shane’s past and whether or not he deserves this kind of hate, after a while Jake’s content on him became unwatchable. It was just him pausing the video every 5 seconds to scream at Shane to shut up and that Ryland never loved him and is just with him for the money. And like, ok maybe but Jake never stops. It’s borderline obsessive. He hates Shane so much, like it’s a personal beef. The vitriol Jake spews towards him, warranted or not, was shocking to me. It made me step aaay from his content all together. Now I feel like he’s doing the same thing to Ethan. And his comments about knowing the h3 crew, wanting to go on the pod, etc. is eerily similar to the way he would talk about Shane. I’m just glad the rest of the internet seems to be getting this vibe from him too. Again, not defending Shane or even Ethan, just pointing out Jake seems to have an unhealthy obsession with creators he feels have personally let him down or slighted him and I know there’s talk that Jake wanted to work for Ethan once upon a time 💀
Stopp because same😂I remember finding and watching his videos on Shane and then once in awhile watching some of his other videos. And man can I say that he’s turned very judgmental and just bitter. It gives nickisnotgreen vibes for real
it’s so bizarre for someone who claims to be an advocate for the ill and even have a nonprofit to berate someone for not pronouncing medical terms correctly and googling symptoms after irregular blood tests. also jake does not have lupus.
Him being chronically ill and doing this makes it even worse because he KNOWS how painful it is to suffer with symptoms and have no one believe you. He KNOWS what’s it’s like to have health anxiety but everyone tells you it’s fine. He knows first hand how traumatic it is to have someone question your symptoms and yet he does it to someone else
“im wondering if this video is necessary to even exist” LITERALLY so real 💀💀💀 like its even that serious its a whole joke on h3 and hes just boohooing abt nothing
Dude is literally trying to gatekeep health and lupus. Then is beating it into the videos skull about how people are saying wait for his health provider for more info, while later acting as he is a medical professional talking about his tests and etc. He seems to have some personal things outside of this towards ethan lol.
The criticisms he has are just weird. I don’t expect a layperson to pronounce the proper names for diseases. Jake would have to agree that his criticism is nullified if he can’t provide the underlying mechanism for Ethan or himself while pronouncing scientific names accurately. lying about a potential autoimmune disease is a weird alleged grift.
It sounds like he is angry that people donated to Ethan and not to him because he's already diagnosed. I don't watch Ethan but this Jack's jealousy is ugly.
I think I understand where Jake is coming from, I think he’s wrong but I get it. I’ve been chronically ill almost my whole life. I’m constantly at the doctor or the hospital, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic repeat. It’s just life. And that being said it’s really hard to remember that’s not how everyone’s life is. To the average person who didn’t collect diagnoses like Pokémon their whole life it’s probably really scary! Some people haven’t been to the doctors in YEARS and all of a sudden they have a test that comes back elevated and their doctor sends them to a specialist ANOTHER DOCTOR, it has to be terrifying! I imagine Jake might be like me and never get bloodwork back that isn’t all kinds of screwed up so to him Ethan sounds ridiculous. I think Ethan is genuinely scared. ALSO I don’t blame Ethan for not knowing how to pronounce everything. I do… after I heard them said out loud for years, not just one time like in Ethan’s case. Oh and last thing, I was misdiagnosed and treated for Lupus for 5 years as a child before they replaced it with 30 other autoimmune diagnosis.
You know what, if anything, I feel like Ethan feels ashamed or not comfortable enough expressing his medical anxiety to other people so he gets a bot to calm him down. Who knows, maybe he bugs out about these things too much to his people that he picked up their annoyance and went with a bot. Can't blame the guy tbh. The bot's obviously for safety measures, will always give you an answer like "Hey, don't worry. But my lawyer advised me to say it could still be something in case you sue us!"
whether you like Ethan or not, everybody hates pedant know it all weirdos infinitely more. Bro probably mansplains to his girlfriend about how periods work lol
Jake made an entire call out video after Ethan did what is the equivalent of combing through Web MD while you have a fever. Ethan probably shouldnt be sharing his medical anxieties with his audience, but Jake is just desperate for the outrage views
My white blood cell count is abnormally high too. I also freaked out of that as did any doctor who checked me out. I ended up being fine though. I certainly cried for months thinking i was dying or had an autoimmune disease though.
Omg omg omg I hope you read my comment on your live chat and that’s why you watched this !!!!! I’m so happy to hear your take on Jake loosing his mind over bad jokes 😂🩷
This guy is either not a real fan of H3 or has zero sense of humor . I haven’t watched the entire video but did Jake mention he was trying to get a job with H3? Or that Ethan paid a bunch of people’s medical bills?!?
While I have an issue with self diagnosing, I can completely understand it when you're dealing with an "invisible illness" like fibromyalgia or lupus. From what I understand of lupus (which correct me if I'm wrong) there's no definitive test, it's diagnosed due to a collection of tests and symptoms. Which I imagine means some people may be misdiagnosed, not believed, or never get a diagnosis. I get why people would be mad about self diagnosing but with these illnesses that don't have super specific symptoms or a specific test it makes sense that you may have to self diagnose if doctors aren't believing you or just don't think its a chronic illness.
This guy who made the video I think forgets since he has been diagnosed with most of his chronic illnesses etc that when you dont know what’s going on with yourself that you get a little obsessed and will research online and sometimes hoping to just get a diagnosis is so relieving and like thank god it’s been figured out and now we move onto treatment. It can be frustrating and a long exhausting journey. And that’s from my own perspective as someone who went to doctors for years and still am to figure out my own autoimmune issues. And he is jealous of people who have more money than him. I get it… me too lol Oh not to mention this is an online podcast made to entertain and so many people start freaking out in the chat and online like you’re being mean to your crew when it’s just their joking dynamic and not a big deal at all 🤦♀️
has anyone looked at little doolittle's "charity" that he has a "fundraiser" for every video. very vague definition of the mission, no details really what so ever. is this kid credible?
Speaking as someone who’s been in the non profit industry for about 20 years now, he at least is established as a 501c3 with an EIN. He’s missing A LOT of very basic things I’d expect from a non profit on his site including things that are requirements, but he only established this year. He seems like he doesn’t know what he’s really doing yet. I remember (I think) he was operating without that status for a while. There will have to be an annual report filed soon so, we’ll see I guess.
I am an 18 year of service personal finance professional, you sound to be on the operational side, I am more on the planning side - yes, you file the paper work to get an EIN .. I am talking about... a charitiy usually explains what they intend to do with your donated money. THIS is what I am talking about. bro isng going to try to make a fake estate EIN @@bagandbroad
Jake truly exposed himself as an opportunistic phony that’s trying to leverage his diagnoses and medical history into a career. It’s so obvious that once he realized that he couldn’t shmooze his way into a job at h3, he bitterly did what he thought would be the next best thing, trying to turn Ethan haters into Jake Doolittle fans. One of the biggest missteps I’ve seen on TH-cam ever.
i won’t say it was jakes intention, but i think throughout the video he in a way dismisses how damaging mental illnesses can be to people’s well being. we know ethan has anxiety, depression, and ocd and all of those mental illnesses can make health anxiety 10x worse than the average person’s health anxiety. just because ethan doesn’t have a diagnosed physical chronic illness doesn’t mean we should dismiss and belittle his health concerns, especially knowing his mental health struggles. i say this as someone who has the exact same mental health diagnoses, and someone who has many family members who are still undiagnosed with physical illnesses or went through a majority of their life being undiagnosed. those factors personally cause me to have severe health anxiety, so i totally understand where ethan is coming from.
Ethan could so easily just be thinking that hes presympotmatic lupus. Hes literally probably assuming that they caught it early by happenstance and hes due to get symptoms as it progresses. Chronic illnesses are so hard to get diagnosed. Occasionally you hear of stories like this too where its a miracle that someones cancer was caught or something because they had a routine check up and thr doctor saw something was wrong even though they had no symptoms and now they caught it early enough where the person is fine.
Did the doctor say theres nothing to worry about to ethan? Where is jake getting this information? Was he in the appointment? Pretty sure if your doctor is sending you to a specialist to check something out that doesnt mean they think "theres nothing to worry about" theyre clearly worried enough to look into it.
Its also funny that he keeps harping on ethan saying its not common for men to be diagnosed with lupus or to be diagnosed without symptoms then he gets so upset when hes an example of someone with lyme disease who has high ana lol like how is that not rhe same thing? Its not likely with lyme disease yet you have it! Just like its possible ethan can have lupus as a man even though its less likely etc! Also its unlikely to get diagnosed with lupus without symptoms because typically youre not getting checked for it unless you have symptoms! Hope this helps!
I think an important piece of context that I haven't seen any reactors mention is that Ethan's dog died last year after having mysterious/inexplicable health problems. If I am not completely fucking up the timeline I think the "Lupus Arch" happened around the same time his dog started to get really sick. Having a pet unexpectedly become fatally ill could make a person more self-conscious about their own mortality.
I say this as someone who got their first chronic illness diagnosis at 6months and its been trash from there on, Jake gives the vibe of 'my illness is my personality, no one else is allowed to be ill like me, I have the perfect version of this illness and it you don't match my symptoms you're a liar'
this is like how destiny and brittany simon had a falling out, some people just cant handle and have mental breakdown when people dont take their struggles seriously or a simple disagreement
I know Papa felt like Ethan was annoying and talking about it all the time but actually this was maybe 30 minutes / 1h a week with a week having 4x 3h shows, with 40k live viewers and it wouldn't dip. Noone was really annoyed or anything.
H3 fan here- the Lupus saga turned into being a bit because Ethan was being annoying about it- Lupus wasn’t the joke, it was his anxiety- he was self aware.
I’m what I would consider a moderate h3 fan. I’ve definitely gotten mad at Ethan when he’s deserved it and when he would even agree he deserved it. This is not one of those times. Also you can argue he shouldn’t be spewing on about his health anxiety . But I am someone with health anxiety that has actually dissipated since I was diagnosed and treated for thyroid cancer. The thing is I know what It feels like to know something is wrong deep down and have a bunch of vague bs and uncaring doctors. The only thing that makes that bearable is talking it out. And people forget Ethan streams for hours and hours each week. It’s not fair for something like this to be eating at him and people expect him to not at least mention it when he has a largely conversational stream for hours several days a week.
I'll Catch the H3H3 podcast every week. Ethan has anxiety about everything. He likely was anxious about his lab results given the chronic rash he had been getting on his face (that was visible on camera even) long before he ever got lab tests. But the podcast leaned into it for the yucks. Chat GPT is a bit; it has been since it's release. The crew will answer something but Ethan will ask GPT also and dismiss the crew in favor of the bot's answer (which is usually incredibly unhelpful).
Jake Doolittle: “Ethan shouldn’t self diagnose!!” Also Jake Doolittle: “I am diagnosing Ethan with eczema”.

Yeah, the epitome of privileged white male
I’d like to add that my white male uncle was diagnosed with lupus before he passed away. It doesn’t take Ethan out of the case just bc he’s not an African American woman. Can we also talk about the fact that Jake is pushing eczema when, if that was the case, it would have been diagnosed by now and wouldn’t be still a mystery?! Jake isn’t a doctor and he needs to stop.
Literally Selena Gomez got lupus 😭
It's absolutely nonsense logic, all diseases are more common in certain demographics, that doesn't mean less common demos have to be careful around talking about the disorder.
Also because its more common in certain demos doesn't even suggest it's unlikely in others; women are 8x more likely to get Lupus than men, but Lupus is not considered rare in men.
@@itzskytzy Selina Gomez is white, a white latina, but she's white...
Isn't jake the guy that called into h3 and begged for a job and became a hater when they didn't read or respond to his resume? I think it is
Yep. I guess that $500 he got from Ethan wasn't enough.
Omg, I totally forgot that was him!
Oh, what job? A photographer?
of course he teases the video and releases it right at the start of their break. then makes the b move of hiding it right while theyre talking about it on the shows return.
He literally has dyslexia lol
I think this is also part of the reason for hesitancy to seek care. Making people feel like they’re not smart enough for something that a health care provider would be specialized in is unfair.

Fanfic couldnt be more correct. He's had 2 schemes throughout the years to try to get hired by the H3 Podcast (which obviously failed lol) and was always in the live chat super chatting hundreds of dollars thanking Ethan for what he does.
This is exactly what it is sadly
Fallen fan syndrome in its fullest
"Turning health issues into content while undermining other peoples' experiences is a huge problem".
He says in his video turning someone else's health issues into content while undermining someone else's experiences.
Jake Doolittle is the same as nickisnotgreen, ethanisonline and kuncan dastner. They all morally grandstand and get up on their high horse while taking everything in bad faith. They also have this smug “I’m better than you” vibe. It’s annoying to say the least.
I literally thought he and Ethan were the same person lol
I don’t know if Kuncan is in the same vein here, he usually has more nuanced takes than the rest of them, though a little bit of moral superiority may still be inherent there
Vindictive too. Using cancel culture and progressive framing to send lynch mobs after people they personally dislike. Jake is mad he didn't get hired by H3 or get the collabs he wanted, so now he profits off of slandering him.
These guys are a dime a dozen and their fans eat it up because they present like they're harmless and acting from a morally pure place, when they're the furthest thing from it.

@@mar.rich8796 the whole supermega drama highlights my point papagut reacted to some videos about the situation if you want to look into that
This is so ridiculous.
I had taken allergy meds and they did nothing for me
After 7 years of going through it and it only kept getting worse with time, I decided enough was enough, I went to a doctor and they referred me to different tests back and forth for 2 years and we finally found out that I had a massive hernia in my stomach and my esophagus had grown numb to acid reflux so I couldn’t feel anything anymore.
I have PTSD and an MTBI from Afghanistan so I already had tons of issues so I coped by saying things like "wh it's probably one of the number of other diagnosis I have."
Wasn't until I got a new neuro who actually paid closer attention and told me I'd had MS since 2017 my old neuro just didn't say anything for some reason.

It’s insane to rely on the internet to debunk stuff derived from the internet.
That's the best description for Jake Doolittle I have ever heard. Talk about hitting the nail on the head.
Like nickisnotgreen, jake's ridden on the danny/drew/kurtis coat tails. Disappointing that they've both turned out so mean spirited.
I started it and could only get like 5 minutes in and was like “yeah no this guy is just not for me anymore”
He also has a concerning bad habit of being really over the top cruel to creators he feels personality betrayed or slighted by (shane, Ethan, Trisha)
Lol…. So you think starting a charity for chronic illness is a bad take?
Didn’t he want to work for Ethan and now he’s mad about it they didn’t take him on LOL

i love how he complains about Ethan pronouncing ANA as anna but in the next episode ethan says it correctly its almost as if Ethan is talking about this on his stream as he is learning from his doctors and personal research and it shouldn't be taken seriously until ethan says hes been officially diagnosed
I think a helpful context would be also that Jake called into the H3 podcast live because he was screwed over by the Dimelo's. Ethan said he would look over his resume but nothing every came of it. I think he might also be a little salty.
he also nonstop dm'd multiple crew members (all unanswered) and pestered AB into a very uncomfortable collab.

Gatekeeping medical diagnoses is insane and Jake is not the person to question Ethan’s medical journey. I’m fine with criticism but it’s crazy for Jake to acknowledge the complexity of lupus diagnoses but to chastise Ethan for wanting to get answers.

Dr Doolittle good one!
Yes to all of this. There have been so many times that Jake has said shit that he only gets away with because he’s not a bigger creator.
Ethan: Between the Devil and the Deep Blue sea, I'd rather drown man.
Jake: Drowning victims are offended by your words!
Yes!!
@@rambi1072 I feel similar after I got COVID the same time as a family member, and they died. I lost so much sleep listening to my heart rythms
Being on kaiser myself and dealing with a long injury, I can certainly say it has been the worst experience of my life
Nurses who used to work for Kaiser have posted online about Kaiser pushing families to substandard care to save money.

@@Id0nthinks0 Totally true! I can see where they're both coming from, Jake's video is just frustrating to me.
Jake had some points. Ethan saying, "Well I have lupus!" was a bit too much. But I don't think Ethan was saying all this stuff in bad faith.
Ethan is clearly struggling with some form of autoimmune issue(s), and Jake's like "no, no, no ☝️, im the only one allowed to get sympathy for being sick."
Also- I have IBD (the autoimmue immune disease that Ethans mom has & Ethan is being tested for), the face rashes, fatigue, weird bowel issues, blood work & fecal tests are literally textbook IBD. He was anxious, searching for answers & venting. Fuck this gatekeeping.
exactly

Him being chronically ill and doing this makes it even worse because he KNOWS how painful it is to suffer with symptoms and have no one believe you.
Ethan ruminating is common in ocd types
I used to watch jake, this REAALLY shocked me. I truly thought it was satire when the teaser came out.
Jake Do Nothing or Jake Do Little Research -- don't know which I like better.
Hey hey hey everybody, My name is Carlos Matos and I am coming from New York City, New York! Let me tell you guys that I am SO EXCITED
whether you like Ethan or not, everybody hates pedant know it all weirdos infinitely more. Bro probably mansplains to his girlfriend about how periods work lol
lmao
im pretty sure he mansplained yeast infections to his gf im not even joking lmao it was on one of his trisha live streams but he deleted it
buddy got the look
Jake made an entire call out video after Ethan did what is the equivalent of combing through Web MD while you have a fever. Ethan probably shouldnt be sharing his medical anxieties with his audience, but Jake is just desperate for the outrage views
came to get caught up on this situation and stayed for you papa. Have a follow
My white blood cell count is abnormally high too. I also freaked out of that as did any doctor who checked me out. I ended up being fine though. I certainly cried for months thinking i was dying or had an autoimmune disease though.
This kid is so unhinged what the hell
i watched this guy a long time ago and bought a hoodie because I thought it looked cool, shit was stiff and scratchy :(.
He’s taken down the video and apologized, I’m here from the video, I was trying to figure out what was going on. 👀
I get it… me too lol
Oh not to mention this is an online podcast made to entertain and so many people start freaking out in the chat and online like you’re being mean to your crew when it’s just their joking dynamic and not a big deal at all 🤦♀️
did he delete the video during the podcast? i was looking for it. what a psychotic premise for a video. This is close to sunnyv2 level.
Idk if he deleted it or he privated the video, but it's not longer available in YT
He did lol
has anyone looked at little doolittle's "charity" that he has a "fundraiser" for every video. very vague definition of the mission, no details really what so ever. is this kid credible?
Ethan is just having a Mort Goldman-moment.
Pretty sure if your doctor is sending you to a specialist to check something out that doesnt mean they think "theres nothing to worry about" theyre clearly worried enough to look into it.
he was so excited to pad the runtime with that explanation of lupus
Jake Doolittle looks like he'd tell me to get back to class and he's 3 grades younger than me
I don't watch Ethan. I like him enough. But God damm. Ethan hit pieces are just a TH-cam phenomenon that is never gonna go away huh.
Very minor thing, but people who hold a microphone when they do commentary on TH-cam just irks me
I say this as someone who got their first chronic illness diagnosis at 6months and its been trash from there on, Jake gives the vibe of 'my illness is my personality, no one else is allowed to be ill like me, I have the perfect version of this illness and it you don't match my symptoms you're a liar'
28:05 lol papa, Ethan has accidentally leaked his email, phone number(s), and even his credit card once.
That was Dan's fault though
this is like how destiny and brittany simon had a falling out, some people just cant handle and have mental breakdown when people dont take their struggles seriously or a simple disagreement
“Not everyone has to like Ethan” lol
Thanks for the recommendation! What a video!
The thing is I know what
It feels like to know something is wrong deep down and have a bunch of vague bs and uncaring doctors. The only thing that makes that bearable is talking it out. And people forget Ethan streams for hours and hours each week. It’s not fair for something like this to be eating at him and people expect him to not at least mention it when he has a largely conversational stream for hours several days a week.
all of these little commentary guys are clones of each other. atp if you do commentary you’re just a red flag.
A little bit of good news, the guy that made the post (cancer lol) made another post saying he's in remission!
Jake ain’t a doctor either. Ugh this is awful
Funny how he changed the title once people started calling him out!
