Yea I get where you’re coming from. Basically there was an embargo on when you could post information about this mount. So everyone ended up posting about it at the same time. Appreciate that you’ve followed the channel and enjoyed my content. Thanks mate 🤙🏻
Another awesome video, Josh! I was just about to ask you if you could do a video of the vlog gears you use to capture all the amazing rides you do. And here it is! Even included additional editing tutorials. Epic! Thank you! I will definitely consider both the front mount and seat post mount from Insta360.😎😎😎🤘🤘🤘
Awesome, glad this video was useful for you. I also use the Insta360 AcePro a lot. That one has a bit better footage at night time and low light so I use that for my Olympic Park nighttime rides. Thanks for watching!
The tail position is pretty cool, with the exception it looks weird whenever someone is out of the saddle. Can also get two cameras, one for front, one for rear, to really capture the moment. Time editing and the cost for hardware would be the downsides of course
Yea it does look a little weird when out of the saddle. I think because the camera moves with the bike, and not the body of the rider. Also this is a situation where the stabilisation is so good it actually looks a bit unnatural
@@joshkwan talk about the GTA perspective, it is abit shaky (but totally acceptable). I take that you are using the basic selfie stick and I wonder if it will be improved using the carbon version which is stiffer.
Ahhh I was wondering how you mounted it, but forgot to ask! You read my mind... .. .. argh get out of my mind!! The flexibility of reframing in post is great! You can do plenty of smart things with this camera to create perspectives which were previously impossible. Really cool and I love that I have some new ways to show my rides
Great vid again Josh. Thank you. After watching this I was wondering if you’d experimented with the magnetic chest mount , by attaching it on the back of your jersey or even your knicks? Look forward to hearing your thoughts. Again, thanks
Yes, I used this for the Insta360 Go3S. I made a video about that a little while ago if you wanna check it out. For the X4 it’s too heavy to be magnetically mounted.
14:21 “universital stem mount”? So, stem mounted via your sit bones? Seriously, thanks for the review. Am considering the universal stem mount for my MTB. Do you think it would be sturdy enough for fire trail and some mild chunk single track?
@@schlinkodonkofink the universal stem mount goes on the front of the handlebars. If your MTB stem bolts are the same width as the mount I see no issues with using it. It’s quite sturdy. I would recommend using some anti slip washers for the camera to make it extra secure.
Hey, you may have covered this but what's some good Sydney cycling groups to get into if you have some fitness and a decent basic road bike? Looking to stretch my legs again after not really riding for the last 6-7 years (I quit cycling in Melbourne cause too many people were being killed and I didn't feel safe enough anymore).

Agreed. From what I can see though I think the market for people just using it on smartphones and sharing to IG/TikTok etc is much higher. They already have the Insta360 app which works decently well.
Ive been using the insta360 since the x2 came out. Didnt get the first version but waited for the 2nd version. Thinking do i need the 4th now? Ive been using the AI editing and it is sooo good even picking great music. Noticed that your x4 has much better night capabilities than my x2. Maybe upgrade time soon.
Don’t have any experience using the earlier version of this camera. But I think also the higher resolution is great since you can crop in more if required
I like to do a lot of bike riding at night, but the issue I'm having is there's a lot of vibration or jello shake, not sure what the exact term is, when I hit bumps? The camera is secure and the footage is smooth as long as I'm riding on smooth pavement.
Maybe you know this already. I've seen people upload the 360 video straight to youtube. And when you watch it, you can look around like you are moving your head around.
@@joshkwan I wish they can have a remote let us do that to conserve battery. Btw I will be taking my road bike to Sydney next week, staying in Olympic Park area. Not very familiar with sydney road. Any shop ride you can recommend?
I was definitely a bit skeptical of 360 cameras beforehand. But I think since they’ve increased the resolution a lot, cropping in for the 2D screen looks fine. The software and hardware has come a long way.
I would like to switch from go pro 7 - unfortunately recordings like this one are holding me back. It looks like the camera will only work in bright sunlight
Nice work Josh!

Excellent review 👌.
Insta 360 needs to come out with an aero seat post mount.
There’s some longer screws which allow the clamp to be used on aero seatpost. Might not be compatible with everything though
Definitely want a full video on that ragdoll angle 😂
Should put it in your bike for that big 🍑

Main difference is integrated needs to mount on the bottom.
Independent uses the stem mount holes
