Top speed i've been able to get on mine was 156 mph. ECU flash, Full akra carbon, windscreen (might help deflect the wind so I don't act like a parachute). Also I would suggest to install a steering damper (I have the GPR) because you can get some serious wobble over 100mph on this bike. And I ran 10.9 to the 1/4 mile at 126mph (I'm 160 lbs)
Same setup as you @195lbs. My best is 144. Had a feeling my fat ass was holding me back. Side note: I can't break 135 without the windscreen in full tuck.
Steering wobble is often rider input, clinging to the bars with a death grip against the wind. Any buffeting will knock your shoulders around, which translates to bar movement and induced shake. Also, get a high quality rear shock installed and adjust the shock length (increase swingarm angle) as it will reduce wheelie prone and floppy front end problems. Most factory sport-style bikes are too level in swingarm angle. Check out Traxxion dynamics TH-cam channel. Free lecture videos on anything related to chassis geometry and suspension function.
Lifted_Above I definitely don’t death grip my bars and I’ve noticed my bike wobbles quite a bit. I’m assuming it has something to do with the rake/trail and the under sprung rear shock.
@@EarthToSean Small things can induce a wobble, especially if the suspension geometry is borderline dangerous. Fork dive creates a very steep fork angle (hitting the brakes). A flat swingarm angle creates easy wheelies (light front end, a tire that skims the road surface and gets nudged around by bumps and cracks and stones). I've seen people get headshake under hard acceleration. I've seen people get headshake after landing a wheelie to hard. The stock MT-09 has far too soft springs, rear swingarm angle is too flat, rear shock is mostly garbage, front damping is minimal. I have the bike myself and plan to address all of this. That said, I may install a steering damper after fixing the suspension and geometry, if it needs it.
They are leaned out bad in the higher gear/RPMs as well. Flashed, air filter, exhaust I've been 159 on a 2017. The biggest change after the flash was how much gruntier it was above 8000rpm in all gears. Looking forward to what you have in mind for the 09, it's a great platform.
I've owned a lot of bikes, and the suspension on the MT-09 is pretty rotten. Very lacking in confidence. There are a lot of aftermarket cartridges and shocks available to fix it, thankfully. The chassis is good otherwise. What can we expect for less than $9,000 new?
My stock 2016 GSX-S 750 did 155 on slight downhill and 148 up the same stretch, seems to be quicker too but idk. Getting a 1k supersport in a few weeks too stoked. Safe riding bro.
That was awesome to see you do 132 MPH on a stock 2014 FZ/MT09.I want to see what the bike will do with a aftermarket exhaust/and the ECU flashed.!!! On to that video.
I thought you might be able to push past that limiter, but the bike wasn’t having it haha. Can’t wait for you to get back to Austin, I’m in Leander would like to get out on a ride with you.

Anti-squat and pro-squat are terms for chassis geometry, where the angle of the swingarm relative to the ground determines whether the bike squats under power (causing it to understeer off track corner exits), or causes the rear tire to break traction (too much angle).
I have a MT-09 myself in all stock form, and plan to do a lot of updates to it. Stoltec cartridges and Penske should fix the mess. Was looking for a dozen exhaust brand options for it when I found LeoVince has new options for the MT-09. You really need to get that db insert removed, to deepen and richen the sound.
Check out Sprint filters for intake mods, when you do finally ECU flash it.
So my stock FZ09 has done 242km and it stops pulling and like there is no more power left.
Won't go that fast . Speedo is so off. Use your Gps and you will find it to be a disapointing 210 ish. It's Just Math. 110 hp no fairing. How can it be as fast as a lighter R6 with fairing.

How much would an ECU flash cost? I just bought a brand new 2018 model.
Usually around 200
186 and it was still pulling on my gxr.. my cbr1000rr is geared I still need to give it a top speed test on my next video 😎 subbed nice vid man
Is the Fz09 becoming a required bike for every motovlogger?
Motonosity X Goon Rides anyone?
Speed wobble is real
Love mine tho
Dude for real. That front wheel gets so light
It really is I think stabilizer would help us.
Hmm weird, I've seen Street Triples do 157+ mph.
wonder how this would compare to the suzuki gsxs 750 top speed?
ECU flash it and try it again ! with gps speedometer too!
Cant wait to see how you add white fairings to the bike lol.
They're gonna look fantastic 😂
Could you try the max speed on 5th gear? It should go a bit faster then on the 6th gear or at least on my MT it does.
