The first time we ever heard a theme for Riku - Kairi had about 3 in the first game, and Sora's might as well play the instant 2 _officially_ begins. We never really had anything to represent Riku until then, and it's absolutely perfect.
The only words that came out from his mouth was: "I have accepted it." When I looked at Riku's temporary form, I bursted into tears. Accepting the dark was the only way to keep his friends safe.
"That was my... my dark side. I gave in to the darkness once. And ever since, it's chased me around in one form or another. The Seeker of Darkness who stole my body... a puppet replica of the shadows in my heart... and now, I'm facing me."

Sora: Riku, you gonna take that off? Riku: Oh... *Riku grabs his blindfold and pulls it from his face. His eyes slowly open up* Sora: What was that? Mickey: His eyes couldn't lie. Sora: Lie? And just who were you trying to fool? Huh? Huhhh? Riku: Myself. Sora: Riku... C'mon, man! Why did you try to do so much on your own? You got friends...like us! *Riku looks at each of them in turn* Riku: Have you forgotten? I'll tell you why. 'Cause I'm not a total sap like you. Sora: Say that again! *Tons of hearts are flying to Kingdom Hearts, which has a large gaping hole in it. They look down below and see millions of Heartless storming the castle* Donald: Uhhhh-oh! Sora: What should we do, Riku? Riku: We must defeat Xemnas. He's the Organization's last survivor. Sora: Right! *Riku whips off his cloak* Riku: C'mon! *Sora nods and they continue. The cloak flies through the air as the scene ends*
"Please, Mickey. Promise me you have to watch over them." "Come on, Sora. I thought you were stronger than that. So it IS true. You really are Sora's Nobody. I guess DiZ was right after all. "All right. You left me with no other choice. I am going to release my heart. The dark power I've been holding back. Even if....it changes me forever! RRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!!" The biggest issue I ever had with the 358/2 Days movie (other than removing the battle scenes) was them removing Riku’s Theme from playing in the Riku vs. Roxas cutscene, specifically during these lines right here, since it really reinforced his motives that he was willing to do whatever it took to get Sora’s memories back and wake him up.
@@tylermiller7183 Nexus modders can make a mod restoring the theme on the cutscene, even if Corey Burton remain instead of Christopher Lee like in ds days version. (sorry for my english, i'm Brazillian)
You gotta remember it came out during covid.. at lot of people might've died before they got to play it - . . Perhaps Maybe even this guy who commented 8 years ago. . -
