      As an American of 50 plus who has been with a Nepali man for over10 years I wonder why more Americans who are minorities don't own the gas stations instead? Why outsiders?
      How would you feel if all the momo shops in Nepal were owned by Chinese?
      Every group who comes here has to go through a period of "cutting the grade". Irish to Puerto Ricans to now Nepali. It's just the way it is.

    Great to see your experience and all the very best to you for your masters!
    I came to the US myself as a student 8 years ago. I wanted to point out few things I disagreed with in this video. I don't think you should be encouraging people to come to the US without having a financial plan and work illegally to pay for college. For people reading, working illegally in US is a very serious crime. If you worked even once illegally in the US, you can pretty much forget every qualifying for a permanent status like green card. This is also another reason why nobody wants to give Nepali people visa easily. We have essentially lost all credibility and trust (during visa application you agreed you will not work in the US illegally while on F1 student visa status)
    You should only come to US if you can afford it. Either have money to pay for it yourself or find a scholarship/assistanceship etc. There are a ton of universities and colleges in the US that provide scholarships. If you can afford to come here and do everything legally, life is great here. You will get a good education, then a high paying job, and through that job a permanent status like green card. On the other hand, coming to US without having a financial plan mean you will work illegally and listen to other folks doing the same without really having thought of long term consequences of what you are doing. Can working illegally 12 hours a day really be a long term sustainable strategy? You can't stay in US in student visa forever and working illegally means transitioning to another visa status while in US (like H1B and green card) becomes very difficult, if not impossible. And if you ever have to apply for another US visa outside of US, the holes in your employment history will make it difficult for visa officer to grant you approval. So, working illegally should be a big NO!
    For anyone reading this comment, please think about this again: Can you afford to attend university in the US?

    • @DiwasTimilsina
      @DiwasTimilsina 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Aakash Lamkhor  @Lunduk
      When I applied for my green card through my employer, I had to go do an in person interview under oath. They asked me about my employment history for last 5 years in the US and if I ever worked illegally. I am not sure if it was just my case or they only ask for last 5 years of employment history for everyone. Regardless they might start asking you detailed question on what exactly you did and where, for how long etc. So, your case becomes pretty complicated. Usually, if you do everything legally and have proofs of legal previous employments, green card applications are super easy and they get approved without the VO asking you much questions.
      So, I wouldn't say it's impossible but you might want to hire a good lawyer to help you with your application because your case is not straightforward anymore and can be denied with high probability. But the bottom-line is that STOP doing it now. If you just did a small task for someone only once and they paid you cash for it then you probably are ok (Better to avoid doing this in future though). I am more talking here about long history of working illegally.
      I am not a lawyer and this is not a legal advice. But here is a post on this topic from some law firm I found in the internet: www.alllaw.com/articles/nolo/us-immigration/get-green-card-ive-worked-unlawfully.html

    • @secret7461
      @secret7461 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nonsense! There are so many Nepalese in USA who have worked and payed for their education. It's not just Nepalese who option to work while on F1 visa and although it goes against the visa policy, it's the only way for most students coming from Nepal. There will only be a countable number of students from Nepal, who would be in USA if you look at their family's financial background to see if they can afford the colleges.
      There is nothing wrong with working under the table as millions of people do it to afford their living and pay for their education. I did it, my friends did it and there are millions of people from other nations who do it. American education is everyone's dream.
      You should explain that many Nepalese choose a low cost university or community college to start up with (It's hard to get visa for community college tho, so anyone reading should option for a university), get their associate degree and then transfer. I went through this process and graduated in 3.5 years. It's possible to work more than 60 house a week and still take 18 credits, just need determination and need to study.
      EVERYONE GO FOR YOUR DREAM!!!

    • @DiwasTimilsina
      @DiwasTimilsina 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@secret7461 Lol, just because you did it, your friends did it, and many others are doing it doesn't make it legal, does it?That shouldn't be the line of reasoning for anything. Next time try mentioning that same thing to US immigration office when you need an immigration benefit (inside or outside US) and see what happens.
      Working illegally is 100% a crime in US. I am just pointing that to anyone who is considering doing so without fully understanding the legal repracutions.

    Honest truth is this. In Nepal the environment is set in such a way young kids don’t work and the culture is that until we finish studying we only focus in study. But in developed places parents will be like once u come of age u gotta get your shit tgt and get out. Obviously what he went through is pretty much what other kids goes through. But let’s not forget the US kids have their parents to help them while we don’t. Still struggle is opportunity rather than bad thing. Shifting the mindset to this way of thinking helps get shot tgt. Any way really well made video. Respect. Gotta pay the due first.
