    Please do not visit the castle if you do not have an appointment. I know this video makes it seem like it's "out in the middle of nowhere", but red mountain is home to a neighborhood, and this video barely addressed that the main reason the sheriff got involved and out up a gate against trespassers is because all of the cars that come through visiting end up tearing up our roads and driveways, and everyone always made their turns to leave in this sweet little old lady's driveway which absolutely destroyed it. There's a bunch of pot holes in the road up the mountain from all the castlegoers, and it's really a Shame.

      Thank you for elaborating on that. I tried to make the point about only visiting if you have an appointment, but I appreciate the viewpoint from the folks who actually live there.

      i live about 30 minutes away and always wanted to visit, just recently got my license and drove up a couple weeks ago and was trying to figure out how to make an appointment but didn’t know how too, do you know how i should go about that? i drove up and the gate was open but it still had the signs so i just turned around.

    About 10 years ago I lived in a neighboring community of Bahama, NC. Neighbors told me about this marvelous structure and I knew I had to visit and I did. As I approached the castle I was blown away and when I went inside and quietly walked thru it I was mesmerized…..truly my mind was captured by this awesome structure. I was very sad to see windows broken and other evidence of vandalism and I was angry at the human race for producing such evil misfits that had to smash up this work of art as a way to feel joy. I am glad this talented man put up a fence to protect his awesome piece of work. He appears to be a gentle spirit and I hope he can find the money to continue on with his dream. Thank you for uploading this video. I think if you two form a broadcast team and start posting videos of the progress, many like me will watch and viewership will explode hopefully generating income for his work. Maybe in addition to updates on the castle you two could feature some of his sculptures and the stories behind them. A patreon account would generate income as we get to see the progress. Just because of this post I will subscribe to your channel.

    The property has great potential to be a huge tourist attraction, but it seems like the neighbors might be a nuisance. He would have to fight in court to get things accomplished.

    • @GEEKORMAN
      @GEEKORMAN  หลายเดือนก่อน

      No doubt the amount of attention has been an issue for the neighbors. I find it really interesting that Robert has invested such time and effort that you would think he’d want to show it off more. That seems difficult given its location.

      I was there when a ghost hunting team went for a weekend. They claimed to have heard stuff and said they would review the tapes and get back to him about it but never did. This happened back in June.

    This "castle" is a public nuance to the people that live in the neighborhood it was built in. People drive in and out like they never learned how to drive to see this monstrosity and disregard / disrespect the people that have lived on the road long before this was even built. They sling dust and rocks and don't consider the safety of the childern that ride their bikes on the dirt road or the pets that the community members have. The man building it also has no respect for his neighbors and only wants to start "working" on this again because the county was going to condemn it because of the hazard it was causing to the people going up there all hours of the day and night just to explore this giant stucco eyesore. The man is leeching money out of people making them think he's trying to fix it for the good of his family and the community, making it seem like a loss of great art if he didn't start working on it now.

    • @GEEKORMAN
      @GEEKORMAN  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I respect your viewpoint, thank you for sharing. It’s important for people to know they can only view the castle by appointment, and anyone who does have an appointment should drive respectfully.
      I can’t speak for the owner, but I genuinely don’t think he wanted all this attention. I suspect he feels bad about the nuisance it has caused the neighbors. If it helps any, he does seem pretty open. Have you tried talking with him?

    • @Coppertiger8
      @Coppertiger8 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mr.Mihaly has been made aware numerous times over the the years since the "castel" construction began, of the concernes from people that live and have lived in the neighboorhood. Whether he will admit to that or not dose not conocern me. What matters is that he has not regarded the thoughts and concerns of his neighbors now or in the past and it is pointless to continue to harp on something that will never be taken into consideration. What is important is that others are at least made aware that the people that live near that building do not appreciate the disrespect they have had to live with for well over 20 years now. When entering a neighborhood you don't live in, you should be courteous and respectful of those that do live there.
