      Duncan was correct though. And he owns gyms and employs 300 personal trainers who will say the same ....
      The young man's argument about Ab stretchers equipment had been well prepared to exactly counter Duncan's point and he admitted to it being a scam.
      There is NO NEED to have an Ab exercising machine to exercise your abs ....

      I think the interesting thing about Peter's question is that there's also a mirror concern the dragons have about this debate. Peter basically wanted to hear that he was going to focus on this, concentrate on it and devote his all to it until Peter received his return. This guy provided an answer that basically was meant to respond to another question altogether. That question being: "Say you walk out of here tomorrow and get struck by lightning, what happens to the company?"
      Very often entrepreneurs come on who are brilliant, but the dragon has a fear that: "This whole business is you, and I can't mass produce you. If something happens to you, this idea is dead in the water. So I wish you all the best, but I can't get involved."
      His answer basically was one prepared for that question. He essentially said: "No matter what happens to me, this product can continue to thrive and succeed with the right team behind it. I'm not indispensable to the product. I don't need to be personally involved and physically present at every stage to keep this going forward. With the right team in place, this product will do well." It's the kind of answer you can give to reassure an investor that 'if something happens to me, your money is still safe, invested in a great product that is in the right hands of a solid team moving it forward."
      But I feel like the more emotionally gripping answer would have been: "If you invest in me, I'll not rest until you get your return." and because that wasn't his first instinct answer, Peter opted not to invest.

      Duncan was right, everything points towards a weak product and delusional creator, no prototype, no sales, no investment from Nike, no dragon wanted to invest, not even the creator wanted to invest his time when asked by Pete, the answers from the PhD guy sound good to the viewers but investors would never fall for it, they all gave polite excuses not to invest, and Duncan was the only person with enough courage to pointed out the obvious (the pitch sounds like a loads of nonsense, using fancy words)

    • @Jessica7318
      @Jessica7318 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @cookiekilbane5989
      @cookiekilbane5989 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Jessica7318 yea many of his answers felt over prepared and therefore he slipped at the end there and gave a slightly different answer your totally right.
      Peter saying ‘none of us can challenge you intellectually’ should have calmed down this whole rant about how he goes to Loughborough uni which in this video seemed a bit pompous but we don’t get the full 3-4 hour interview so we will never know

    • @googleuser3620
      @googleuser3620 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Peter too longer to understand that the product was ineffective (not enough evidence of efficacy), and that the Biologist researcher was just there to promote an ineffective product that Nike didn't want to back up. The creator didn't want to commit to it also, and only Duncan pointed out that the product doesn't work.
      The researcher would commit 100% of his time to an effective product, but even he didn't believe enough to commit to launching the product.
      Rule number 1 in investment, don't lose your money to scams or products that don't have enough evidence of efficacy.
      Everything points towards a weak product and delusional creator, no prototype, no sales, no investment from Nike, no dragon wanted to invest, not even the creator wanted to invest his time when asked by Pete, the answers from the PhD guy sound good to the viewers but investors would never fall for it, they all gave polite excuses not to invest, and Duncan was the only person with enough courage to pointed out the obvious (the pitch sounds like a loads of nonsense, using fancy words)

    That’s not how breathing works!
    The main breathing muscle is the diaphragm, and it expands downwards. It’s the main working muscle. That’s why it’s the one that gets tired and hurts. The other muscles are much less powerful and significant. Squeezing the chest is not going to do much of what they’re claiming. Lame and scammy.
