    I have seen a few fire welds done on TH-cam, yours would have to be best explained one so far. I am one of the ones from over the pond and I call them forge welds, but luckily I know the lingo enough to know what you are talking about.

    Thanks for this!, I am only really starting fire welding, it makes my 10( unsuccessful) attempts in a row seem quite normal

    Forgot to leave a comment before but just watched it again. Loved this video. And respect for showing the other attempts. Well done Alex for the camera work 😊 It's also good to see some humour in videos. Keep em coming! 😊

    This stuff is not as easy as it looks on vid. Love firewelding though. Just now today doing a big axe and it is way to hot to not at least be a wee bit intimidated. Thanks good video!

    Great tutorial Dan Thank you.
    If you were welding round bar would you still shape the ends in a similar way to prep, and then knock it all back to round after welding?

    Congratulations in advance, awesome job! I have a question: is there any way to forge weld on site, like a fence? And sorry for the poor english, still learning.

      Joao Valentim there is always a way to forge weld on site.
      The question is: Do you wish to add a variable to your installation?
      Personally, I would rather do my smithing intensive parts back at the forge. There's less chance of failure.

    Dan I've seen Joey Van Der Steeg I think actually touched the pieces in the 'FIRE' and they stuck together in the fire, you could try that.

      Lenblacksmith I got them to stick but dude to the weight of the bar it came apart very quick. I just messed about after that lol. Not my best weld lol but the basics are there lol

      Lenblacksmith/ Daniel I wonder if it has to do with the scale? The first time worked but the next few trys there's a thick scale that when you shake it off it is only the top layer? As I'm sure you both know welding consists of three variables pressure, heat and cleanliness if you max out any of these it will create a weld or fusion and it is a fine balance between them if not. I'm very interested to hear your thoughts on this and would love to see a video testing some different theories on the topic of forge/fire welding (I don't mind if all theories fail because you always learn more from it, why it didn't work then everything working first time. ) cheers.

    🤣👍 You learn more from your mistakes than your successes - well thats what I tell myself. 🤣

    Nice footage. Camera work a bit better than the forge welding.

    No flux ?

      @msblades5382 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the time you don't need flux for mild steel.

    • @danielmoss2089
      @danielmoss2089  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope no flux you don't need it. Even easy if you don't mess about like I did. Lol
