There are stocking stands you can set by the hearth instead of trying to hang. I bet your little Brother could make you one that would complement your beautiful house. Carl Bellemare is so freaking adorable especially in his winter coat- total dreamer.

If you’re worried about fire then I would suggest moving the wooden sleigh and kindling away from where you have it. With them both being wood products an ember could land on either and cause an accidental fire.
You could add some wide ribbon straight down (and straight across) your kitchen cabinet doors and then put those red and black check bows in the center where the ribbon intersects and it’ll look like your cabinets are presents. I do this to my kitchen every year and it’s gorgeous!

Angie, visit the Wilderness lodge while you’re at Disney!! Your house reminds me of that resort. It’s my favorite Disney resort even in the summer. There are multiple fire places there. The one upstairs is the coziest!

OK OK ok!! I have a suggestion! Put the stockings (since they are long & glorious) on the upstairs banister. One on the top newel post and one under your middle BIG ornament. THEN put your Santa sack under Bernard? (bottom elf). (More on that). In each elf's hand put some of the pieces you will (one day) decorate trees with. Then let Santa sack at bottom on the floor over flow with more pieces of ribbons and decor for trees! Then it'll look like they are sliding down the banister to work their magic all over the house!!

The elves look awesome, I've always loved them. The staircase looks beautiful. The whole house looks beautiful.
Your new home is so stunning !! I will give one tip that my husband & I learnt from when we bought our log home - try to choose furniture, decor that also works in warmer seasons. We purchased our home in winter too & got all caught up in the winter woodland vibes 😂 then Summer came round & some of our decor was just too wintery.

The railing is really coming along, I love that the elves are now hanging out there. When I saw the mickey lights I thought of the Disney house, why don’t you take them there? Al the snow is so magical, there is no snow in southern Ontario right now, we’re gonna have a green rainy Christmas ☹️ can’t wait for tomorrow!!

Loving the gold and red! I think the little gate in front of the fireplace would be great. My dog also makes me nervous because he loves to lie right next to fire! 😂 I put a decorative screen in front of it as a temporary solution until I find a better option.

Definitely get a screen in front of your fireplace. I always had a fear of somebody falling into the fireplace while a fire was going. My first thought when I saw those big buffalo plaid bows was “stick one in your hair girl.” 😂😂. Don’t forget to hang a kissing ball.
