What a beautiful place for a tiny home community. It's nice to hear that the city was willing and open to the idea and you were able to make it happen. I'm also glad you mentioned the cost excluding land to build the community. Many people don't realize how much it costs to get the permits, engineering, put in the infrastructure, the roads, landscaping. Thanks for sharing your beautiful community with us.
I looked into buying a small plot of property outside of town and living off-grid in a tiny house. In order to do so, I found that I would have to lay in a septic field and have a well drilled for water. That would have cost about $200K up front, including the permit fees. So much for that idea... 😮
Beautiful tiny homes, and the whole concept is brilliant. Studies show that loneliness is almost pandemic amongst older people, so this adresses that issue, too
Have yet to watch the entire video, but wanted to comment on the great idea of using the rusty metal for fencing. No loss of trees for a wood fence + little maintenance. The silhouette cutout of mountain top adds to the setting beautifully, esp. with the natural sky as its backdrop. It would be great feature to add to tall fences in the city. There could be cut-outs of sunflowers, tree tops, birds seating on the fence, etc. vs the usual boring restrictive solid look of tall level fencing which is the hallmark of many privacy fences in the city and burbs.
What a Stellar couple, wow, and they really care. I'm working on getting my finances together to live in a place just like this if I can't own my own land. This community seems really heart-centered all the way around. Cheers from Seattle!
Wow this is beautiful. (Not including money) this is a great idea I have just been so fascinated with tiny homes lately lol 😂. There’s soo many things and ideas you can do. It’s amazing!
Wow! I am so happy you were able to achieve a new tiny house community! And a very well thought out community, those trees will be lovely and tasty when they get bigger😊 I am still surprised how many people are still not familiar with tiny houses, I was hooked years ago! I certainly wish you both the best on your new adventures as tiny house community owners, it's a beautiful place to live❤
Thank you Beverly ❤! We have had the land for quite a while. We thought we would develop the land one day if we could. We pondered apartments and condos, but that seemed too brick-and-mortar and impersonal and just another rental, so we never took action on it. Then we became aware of these tiny homes and we knew right away this is what needed to be done with this land. It spoke to our hearts....it would actually help fulfill the need for affordable housing. People would be able to purchase their own homes where they have not been able to before because of the unreachable prices of homes nowadays. It would also help out the folks who still wanted their own home but wanted to be part of a community and have people around them supporting them. Each Tiny Home is adorable. They are different colors, sizes, and shapes which adds to the personality of the neighborhood. All the events we do with the residents we thoroughly enjoy, and I believe this creates a sense of community which I think our society lacks these days. We have a neighborhood full of WONDERFUL residents!! To New Journey’s ❤ MarLin Village
What a beautiful neighborhood. It’s so close to all the amenities and still inside lots of nature’s wonders. The laser cut fence is absolutely stunning! What an art piece and statement . You’ve made something utilitarian and mundane into a showpiece. ❤
That's just so.....lovely I guess is the best word. That's a recurring thee for tiny home villages... community, family, connected. Its something missing in most cities now.
Congratulations MarLin tiny House Village! It’s already a beautiful community and it’s just going to get even more beautiful! You may be hearing from me regarding a parking spot in about a year or sooner! 🙏🥰💃🏻
If only this tiny home community was near me...we need village's like this here as well...owning your own home is near impossible in most countries these day's (I am one of the lucky people who got enough in my divorce settlement to buy a small house)...if I was divorcing now I wouldn't be able to buy anything land and property prices have sky-rocketed over the past few year's...great tour and a lovely village the owner's seem really approachable which is good 😊
The expensive land costs is a big barrier but also the zoning. Several new communities opened within the last year so hopefully that bodes well for more in the near future! 🤞🤞🤞
Very cool love this place and their property along the creek so pretty, Having storage units great idea as is the garden, and community meeting place .Wish there was a community like this here in Ontario. I love tiny homes . The owners have a real big kind heart.
I am sooooo excited about your tiny home community! I am shopping for a tiny home now and always worry about where I’m going to be able to park it. I will be in touch soon! Thank you for being like minded -
I wish we had this sort of thing in the UK. Life would be so much easier - everything is already too expensive and it’s just getting worse fast. Beautiful development and lovely couple.
Awesome! I live in Northern Colorado and am so excited for another potential place for me to one day ha e a Tiny home! I would love to know where the owners found those used skid steer tires they have in their garden area!
So happy to share, and best wishes with your tiny home journey! Reach out Mark & Linda on their Fb page or website. But they might pop over here to answer some questions ☺️
Without shade trees your park looks like a tractor-trailer parking lot. :( Beautiful trees can make even the most mundane home(s) look snuggled in and comfortable. Plant only trees "local" to your area,. Local trees do their best with little care or trimming.
We miss the grass also!! The TOB was concerned about water consumption, so we are trying to be as green (tree and flower planting) as possible around having grass.
A lot of people of an older age would be able to sell their homes and pay cash for this beautiful tiny home. The cost of the rent would be exceptional to save money.
There are a few here and there, but can be hard to find unfortunately. Right now, we know The Bird’s Nest tiny community in Texas has one right now 😊 thebirdsnesttx.wixsite.com/home
The biggest need in our country is for affordable working class housing and low income and senior and disabled housing and these tiny house communities are not fitting the need. Tiny homes are for folks with money.

What is the difference between a trailer park and a Tiny home village? neither are attached to the ground . Why do people accept Tiny home communities but look down on trailer park communities. Are they the same ? I think so
I love the concept but $650 per month is quite an outlay. Residents might own the tiny houses, but they’d still be responsible for house maintenance, on top of paying lot rental. What size are the lots?
Definitely look into tiny home communities in Texas, New Mexico, and Tennessee 🙂 there are many with lot rent between $350-450. Hopefully that’s more doable for you 💕
