The Inner Forearm Middle Block can be classed as a Side Block and an Outward Block. On page 208 of the condensed Encyclopedia 5th Edition it says "The blocking tool is focussed toward the centre of the defender's shoulders" when describing a Side Block. On page 197, the photos illustrate the Outward Block having the blocking tool on the shoulder line (in line with the centre of the shoulder).
