That's some criminal behavior logging up to an eagle's nest unless the regulations have changed since I last read them. Every wildlife biologist knows that such activities can cause abandonment of nests and eggs and reduce reproductive success, including any biologists who are working for the US Forest Service in that region. Don't even get me started on wolverines--one of the species most sensitive to human activities, even seemingly harmless ones. There are only a few tiny areas where they still exist in the lower 48. When will we realize that our precious natural areas have been devastated by corporations and every dollar goes into the pockets of the 1% while robbing all Americans of their common heritage? Outdoor recreation has skyrocketed and it becomes ever more difficult to get away from people to experience nature. Wildlife is impacted on all sides by the cumulative effects of human activities that may appear to have little impact when considered separately, but together they are devastating. It's not surprising to me that this is going on there, considering that they treat our native bison like stray cattle to be slaughtered. I fear that things are soon going to get worse as there are cases coming up soon before the Supreme Court that will reduce the federal government's power to protect the environment. Habitat is destroyed in a day and can never be regained. Bird and insect populations have plummeted in the United States--you might not notice if you are not a scientist or are young, but as a 60-year-old naturalist and wildlife biologist, the losses have been shocking and heartbreaking. I live up near the Puget Sound in a rural neighborhood. When I moved here 15 years ago, three species of swallows--Tree, Violet-Green, and Barn swallows--were abundant. Each summer I would have Tree and Violet-Green swallows competing for the nest boxes on my property and raising two broods a year in each box. The neighbors had a nice barn swallow colony nesting in an outbuilding. The barn swallow colony is now gone despite my neighbors having done nothing to their habitat and I am lucky to get one pair of swallows in one nest box. My plum tree has been in peak bloom for an entire week and, despite good weather, I have seen ONE pollinator on the blossoms--they are generally pollinated by tiny flies. This morning I checked again---ZERO insects. It's really quite alarming. The blossoms are now about to start falling and it's too late---will be lucky to get a handful of plums off of a mature plum tree this summer. This is not in the city, but in a rural area. These are the things you notice if you are paying attention. If we don't change the way money influences our politics, things will not change--it is the ONE thing that maintains this status quo of robbing the future for the profits of a very few. Vote for people who do NOT take corporate PAC money!! Look into who the donors are for your local politicians at www.opensecrets.org/. Is it the livestock industry, fossil fuels, mining, logging, developers, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or weapons manufacturing? Whichever it is, they are calling the shots, not the voters. Thanks for all you do BFC. I was lucky to get your video on the bison plan in time to submit comments on it, so thank you for the updates. I honestly can't watch the bison videos anymore--it's too disturbing to see the cruelty with which they are treated. The least they could do is give them a quick death by rifle shot where they stand, but instead many suffer an agonizingly long trek to their death full of fear and battling for their freedom every inch of the way. In this age of the internet people are ever more disconnected from what is going on around them even though there is more information out there than ever. It doesn't help that people are paid a pittance and have to scratch and scrabble to keep their families afloat. That's how the corporations want us--too busy and stressed to pay attention while they extract what's left of our natural resources. I feel very sad for young people today that they will never have the opportunity to see the America I saw growing up. I never had kids because I didn't want to burden the planet with more apes and I have never regretted it. Remember to vote wisely if you enjoy the outdoors. Ignore the culture war issues that are meant to distract and deflect from what is actually important--it's exactly what the corporate politicians want and they know what they are doing. They care nothing about abortion, religion, gender, race, or anything of the sort. They care about one thing and that is deregulation so they can continue to extract natural resources as quickly and cheaply as possible and to pollute our precious ecosystems until they collapse. There will be plenty of deer and elk but nothing else.
We will not have wildlife if logging continues on. Logging companies must be closed permanently and held accountable for their actions.

This profit-first stuff needs to stop--either that, or be more closely supervised to ensure that respect towards wild environments is always observed!
This kind of logging has to stop.
Yes we need stop taking 💩💩, electric power and building house 🤔🤔🤔
