My 3 day old little girl is under UV currently in hospital with my partner. Been very emotional. Hopefully they'll be home soon. Newborn + sleep deprivation + problems = complete emotional destruction. Nice to hear so many positive comments regarding successful treatments 😊
Absolutely fine, she was right as rain after a couple of nights. Felt horrendous at the time but easily forgotten now. The LED lights they used have hour meters on them and one of the ones my daughter was under had 16 thousand hours on it, so clearly a common treatment! Seems like so long ago, she's almost walking now, (almost) 6 teeth, saying dadadada and mamamama haha. Hope this helps any parents going through this right now - all will be fine and a distant bad memory, plenty of hilarious and amazing memories to come...

@@netm203 mate I feel you, but honestly as easy as it is for me to say now, the best thing is gonna be to try and get as much rest as you can, you're gonna need it. If it helps, my brother and I are two years apart, my brother was put on his front (32 years ago - it was the norm), I was on my back. Babies are pretty tough. Your little man will be right as rain in a couple days I promise you. He's been upside down inside a womb for months, he'll be fine on his front a couple days
Our first baby daughter is under treatment right now for having jaundice. I pray all with newborn baby will come back to healthy and go home safely.. AMEN!

My son had the highest case of Jaundice SUNY hospital ever recorded. This was due to his G6PD deficiency though. He was under the lights and UV mat for a week but he's totally fine now. Modern medicine is amazing.
My daughter had blood incompatibility jaundice and could not leave the lights Not even for a feed Good news is right at the last minute I was told she could go home with me However I had to take her to get her foot pricked every day for three consecutive days. She’s almost three months now and is doing amazing
Most of the comments has good signs n relief,and iam happy for u all.but unlucky me who lost her angel last year because of this jaundice.however,by god grace i give birth to a baby girl again this year.but i can't get over my grief,suffering and loss.lossing her was the worst part of my life till now.i always miss her a lot,every single day.after this great loss,i had anxiety disorder.
Our little princess arrived 5 days ago, she developed this very symptom mentioned, and she is still there now, and as you know as a new parent it can be very haunting to receive such news, however we have been getting some good news, she doesn’t need a blood transfusion, that’s a massive relief, and got more good news that she is progressing well, but still needs more time, and it’s always nice to see this is more common than I thought, wish us well 👨👩👧

@@toddlackey9754 we're back home and fine. Eva had around 12 hours under 2 lights, 6 hours under 1 light and 6 hours under no light, 48 hours total with all the tests. Can't remember exact numbers but if you get the graph she was bang in between the two lines. I'll try find a link and post it. I think it was like 350 or something to start with. She's giggling and all sorts now, horrible experience but soon forgotten. Very, very easily treated and nothing to worry about given good medical care. Sure your little one will be fine, horrible seeing all the heel prick tests done. Amazing what a UV light can do, genuinely. Apparently their organs haven't kicked in properly to get rid of mums blood, so the UV just helps break down stuff so the body can assimilate it. Best of luck and no worries about it from a worried dad - they'll fix it mate

Hello My son was born on 31st aug 2020 He was discharge on 3rd sept at bilirubin 15level but after 2days his bilirubin level becomes 27 after that we admitted him on a hospital and they gave him a phototherapy for 48hrs after that his bilirubin goes down and it becomes 9.6 on day before yesterday I am very lucj worry that will this level affect my son like damage brain or other body parts But at the time of phototherapy he feed properly and behaving normaly still he is normal and response properly and also feeding well Just worry about his future but at present he is very fine

This rarely causes a bilirubin of >40 if the liver is working well. A rise of up to 20 is consistent with a few different problems, such as cholestasis, but a higher rate could be haemolysis, hepatitis, or death of the liver cells. In biliary obstruction the bilirubin rarely goes above 300, if it is higher it might be hepatocellular cause of jaundice as well.
