There's actually a coffee jelly in Japan where sweetened coffee is added to agar, which is a jelly like substance made from RED algae. Sort of matches the darker colours of your Thyla? idk that's my coffee/dessert name idea XD Also! Just a bonus thing you probably know already but figured I'd put it out here. Thyla's can do a 180 if you jump and spin the mouse around behind you. I always loved that about them. They're absolutely the best ground mounts in Ark!
Phlinger when I'm playing, one thing I always do is cook all the meat my dinos have on them, and then give it back to them. That way is lasts much longer before expiring, and when I take out a dino I've always got an emergency supply of cooked meat if I run out of my own food.
For anyone who is confused about the thlya stats: the 219 must have inherited the higher "value" in the wasted wild movement speed levels, since it has the lower health stat relative to the 213, but every other stat is the same.
I went to Carno Island a couple of days ago to level up my newly imprinted Rex and was shocked to find a Titan out there on the island. I love taking dinos up there to level up, and do it regularly, I had never seen a Titan out there before. I guess it must have just wandered out there and stayed. Always good to spend some time with Phlinger! Have a good one bro!
For those of you that struggle to get full imprint because there isn’t enough time wild card gave another setting that you can adjust that increases the amount you get each imprint. I use single player maturation settings which is 36.79 and my cuddle interval is set to give about 16 minutes between cuddles. The new setting which I put in my game.ini file is “BabyImprintAmountMultiplier” . You can play with the value but i have mine set to 1.25 which I can usually get full imprint with time to spare now. I still have to put the time in to imprint but now the baby is about 75% -85% mature by the time i get my last imprint in. Its pretty awesome. Takes out the guess work for sure.
This thylas colors remind me of a dark chocolate coffee cake or some kind of cinnamon spice! But for a name? Name him Decaf! He's the kind of thyla that doesn't make you quite as excited as a fully caffeinated thyla
Other Dave and Seagull Dave are only Other Dave and Seagull Dave when they are being observed. When not observed, they revert to Dave particles. That's just science.
Looked up names of coffee that might fit. Catimor, Catuai, Caturri, but my favorite was Bourbon. Named after the coffee beans planted on the island of Bourbon, not the booze. But hey, a double entendre never hurt anybody.
I usually name my ichthyornis’s Dratted Seagull, Rotten Thief, Wretched Sea-Rat, or I’ve had a few named after pirates, like an event one named Bluebeard.
What setting do you change so that way babies want care in 16 mins mine want care in 2h 20 m so I can't get 100% in print on anything they all mature in less than 2 hrs
Yeah all those multipliers interact, it was pretty dense to navigate at first. I think it's called "BabyCuddleInterval multiplier" or something. That changes how OFTEN they want imprinting (the time between imprints), but each one may be worth less if it's super often since it doesn't change the total. If you also see an option for "BabyImprint AMOUNT multiplier" that will actually increase the amount of imprinting progress they get PER interaction. (Which can get way too easy, if you make it so even a rex is fully imprinted in like 2 cuddles). (I'm not sure all servers have that option though... Nitrado does, but my basic/nondedicated xbox settings didn't have that option if I remember right). But it's all about finding the balance you want! The internet can be a lot to sift through to find useful info, but it's definitely there if you can muster the patience to mine through xD. Hope that helps somewhat to start!
@@jacobjensen9871 I don't want it too easy but on Xbox my timer was 1h20 mins and I could at least get some in printed but soon as I moved to steam it went to 2h 20 mins and they all fully mature long before 2h 20 mins is even close to being up
@@crazycanuck8177 I completely understand! One really thorough online post had all their settings posted, but it was game-breakingly easy and fast which I didn't like either. shortening the BabyCuddleInterval though will definitely enable more opportunities to imprint on them before they're adults. I had the same trouble awhile back increasing maturation, but they'd never ask for imprints until they were adolescents! Once you find the balance you like though, you can just leave it alone! The tricky thing too is that each creature "grows" at a different rate, so altering stats so that one creature (e.g. Wyverns) are exactly how you want, may shorten it so much that small critters like otters are impossible to imprint. The solution/ principle I found online that WAS helpful was this: -If you want to keep the Standard imprinting amount, but still reach full imprinting, you need the Time between imprints to shrink by the same ratio as their growth rate, so you can get them all in. You can think of it as "they grow 3x as fast, but are 3x as needy" so that way they can request all the imprints to get to 100% before they Mature. But that ratio needs to be FLIPPED or you'll actually lengthen the imprint intervals. So make sure BabyMatureSpeed and BabyCuddleInterval Multiplier are set as inverse of each other. For example, if you have 3.0x maturation speed (300%) so they grow faster, make the CuddleInterval 0.03 (which would be 3%) since that stat is measured in fractions (I stuck at math, so that STILL trips me up). It may come right down to the wire for some animals still, but this way you should get at least close to 100% for most critters. (That's why I also bumped up the ImprintAmount so that each cuddle gives a little more than base level to make things less time constricted).
Check Phlingers most recent "coffee time" video where he goes over the server settings and make sure you copy all of the settings. There are several multipliers that interact in an equation that won't work otherwise. Also, his discord is super helpful for that kind of thing with a section dedicated to just that. I believe he has it linked.
It's the "Show Range" ring for the Feeding Trough, and for some reason he either A. has not turned it off yet, or B. it's bugged and he hasn't picked it up and put it back down to fix the bug, or C. does not know that you can fix the bug by picking it up and putting it back down. Really wish he'd "fix" it, cause it's annoying AF. Also wish he would use the "sort inventory button" cause every time he opens the inventory my OCD screams in agony.
Phlinger, im giving you a hard NO on thylas being the best to cave carno island. They *were* the best maybe, but deinonychus are where its at. They're like a split between thylas and baryonyx stat-wise, they fit anywhere a bary does, and they climb better than thylas. Ive got a large storage full of devourer artifacts, im playing back thru the island now breeding up for genesis.
THIS!! Deinonychus are brilliant cavers for the isle. They have knocked barys off the top spot for it. Went caving in the Southeast lava cave, misjudged the only required jump you need to make to reach the artifact, yet lived due to the Deinon's ability to latch onto walls. Best artifact retrieval ever!
They are great, IF you are not playing the maps in story order and you are either single player, or on a cluster with Valguero since that's the only map they spawn on. Personal opinion but Megalania work great in cave since they can climb on the ceiling and avoid pretty much everything. Just my opinion tho.
@@oldman1973 Or if you play modded and mess with ini settings to have them spawn on more maps. Your point is a great one though, as vanilla Deinons aren't an option if you restrict yourself to the island. I've never tried out a megalania in caves, as by the time I am ready to go caving, I've already put time into breeding my chosen caver. As a result, the fact that you first need to go into caves in order to find them (at least on the island) make them not an option in the beginning. Will need to try one out though; as again, you make a great point as to why they would be awesome cavers.
@@nyxcoding4084 They normally spawn regularly on the ceiling in the cave of the hunter, which is by far the easiest cave and can be gotten on foot fairly easy. I always find them right at the 1st fork in the cave where the 1st signs of the pulsing effects from the artifact can be seen. Ironically you can take a trike into the vast majority of that cave and I in fact have used one to tank the megalania while I knocked it out. Needless to say tho they make most of the caves trivial once you tame one with decent stamina. I breed and mutate them just because I like having a super lizard but that's just me.

Bourbon Red for the Thyla's new name. Which is a breed of turkey as well as a coffee variety, and considering his underwhelming parents ...
