Because of the crash of 2008, we couldn't help with college like we had planned to do for our sons. Our youngest paid for his almost entirely by himself with support from us. He worked for it and applied for scholarships and loans. I would NEVER have claimed that our children going to college was a great imposition. It is an honor and privilege to help where we can and we are proud of their successes.
What a horrible bully that old woman was ! OP should have sued her for damages and medical , legal and therapy costs as well as emotional distress !!!
