    I'm wondering about safety. Does the dock always supply power to 2 poles? If not, how do you know when to supply the power to charge the mobile robot?

      All metal contacts are not powered until the robot is connected to the charging station. Then the robot actively switches power from the batteies to his charging contacts. The charging device measures constantly if batteries are connected to the charging contacts of the charging station. If the charging device detects a battery it will activate the charging voltage.

    Does it just use vision to find it’s dock or does it use a map reference too.
    It would be neat if you could just verbally tell it where it’s dock is by room ,especially if you needed to move it or if you wanted to add multiple docks in its environment.

      By itself it will only find docks which are in the field of view (and not too far away). You can use move_base to get near the target station of choice.
