I think they are demolishing it. What a shame they are lovely looking old buildings. I do like the houses that are abandoned with all the furniture etc left behind too. I hope you find one on your travels 😊🖒
My mom worked at a privet one in NJ one of the best even stared a school, She left and started working here i wasn’t aware of its history however she only lasted 4 month stared coming home crying shaking telling me how they abuse her patients i give her a pack of my cig’s a day for them, she came home and never spoke about it again I never in my life saw her in the state she was in, even scared to leave them their.She had told me she had reported the hospital and they put her through hell.This was one of the sickest physic hospital around.She’s passed now but I know for a facet she wouldn’t even allow me to go there.She went back to were she was working for yeas still open her school for teens with all problems addictions is thriving.They even helped her get back who she was this place was hell on earth amazing finally they tour it down wonder why?
I had a family member who was inpatient at this hospital several times and every time we left her there, she became hysterical and begged us not to leave her. While she was there, they turned her into a shell of a human. Drooling, unable to speak, walking into walls. We would leave after visits and I would stop eating for days, just beside myself. She described electric shocks and big male orderlies who hurt.
I want to say thank you to your now deceased mother's efforts. Maybe she was nice to my family and we didn't even know.

I spent many hours playing frisbee with friends in one of the fields located there. Such an amazing place with a tranquil vibe, so I can easily understand why they would want to turn it into a park
