I’ve been a fan of Chico from Wild N Out. But now I just love him even more after this interview ❤. But on a serious note, he’s not lying about DC, as my eyes were completely open and my life has been forever changed by my work as a mentor, facilitator and coach for the SYEP/MBSYEP in DC. I learned from my kids this past summer (ages from 14-25) who know struggle that I’ve been somehow spared and blessed to not have to encounter in my 40 years. It truly exposes the true fabric of America; the ignorance, lack of care and oppression of the impoverished, marginalized, people of color, indigenous and the list goes on and on. “Either they don’t know, don’t show, or care about what’s going on in the hood...” And that’s REAL TALK.
