Amir boxed extremely well for 5 rounds without ever hurting Canelo, he definitly has speed and skill but when you already have a suspect chin at lower weights it is very brave (or foolish) to go up 2 weight classes and get in with a massive puncher.

Take a look at Khan's left ribs. Thats how Canelo set up the knockout punch. Made him believe it was another body shot, but loaded the blow for the chin.

So clean how Canelo setup this knockout. He kept going for the body to make Amir subconsciously want to block a shot by mistake to protect his ribs. You can see his ribs with damage to make the body want to protect itself. I feel like his lead trainer knew from seeing the visible damage and recommended Canelo to slow it down to sacrifice power for accuracy.

Mad respect to Kahn. He went up two weight classes to fight Canelo. That first 2 Piece combo in the first round was so fast that I didn't see it!!! He had the right fight plan and was executing perfectly, he just got caught with a Canelo special. Nothing u can do about that. 😂Also gotta give credit to Canelo's corner, their advice was SPOT-ON the whole fight.

True! Water in the basement but to be fair to Khan he took those hard body shots like a warrior - he really did have a lions heart back then - He was always in great condition back then was Khan and although he has a poor chin he has never been put down or badly hurt from a body shot !

I initially thought Amir Khan was a scrub but when I clicked on this video I quickly saw how competent he was.
Canelo caught him with this hands down but what a solid fight. I actually thought AK was doing slightly better in the first 5 rounds. Love seeing real fights like these.
The reason khan dropped his guard was because every time canelo fainted a punch to the head he went for the body and khan adjusted to that rhythm, canelo was waiting for him to adjust and drop the guard to protect the body so he could land a punch to the head. Canelo is a calculated fighter.

Khan has outboxed every world class fighter he has fought, his speed, work rate, punch variety and mobility overwhelm opponents, but on a few occasions he engages too much and loses defensive awareness.
@@ZaydDepaor Hindsight is 20/20 and I suppose it is possible that Khan could've kept it up and dominated the fight through 12 rounds... but part of me thought this ending was inevitable.
