Honestly they should do a cool buildable C-3PO in the same scale, would look stellar alongside buildable R2, however I’m not sure how Lego would do all the robotic details and make it look accurate.
I think smooth and shiny robot details would go over better than this hairy demon staring into your soul.
@@crazydog1750 haha agreed unfortunately tho Lego doesn’t really do substantial amounts of really shiny chromatic colors anymore. But it would still look shiny and good with the type of gold used for the Infinity Gauntlea
they would do pearl gold instead of metallic gold and silver and totally butcher it, thats for sure.
A C-3PO in Lego R2's scale would be MASSIVE
on point, the no.01 choice for a buildable figure. IG 88 and Grievous are the next ones

I have and will always be brutally honest, other than the UCS Gunship I don’t believe I let my emotions slant my reviews. People say I “always complain” must not watch any of the reviews… LAN is stupid and run by bad LEGO employees that have forever tainted my view of The LEGO Company, I wouldn’t go back unless they no longer were working for LAN.
@MandRproductions At least you admit that you let your emotions get in the way when you reviewed the UCS Gunship. It's a beautiful model with its only downside being some slightly mediocre figures and, at the end of the day, if you're buying a UCS set just for the figures, then you're doing something wrong.

No one needs LAN anyway and is a total farce. There’s far to many members and I’m tired of watching videos of them gloating over all their FREE sets Lego have sent them. Just a rant but great review btw 👍
$200 is a lot but i have to be honest for a character thats all fur this turned out better than i expected. Creating chewy in plastic has always been an issue . fur isnt easy in plastic lol
If its an issue they shouldnt do it. There are so manny other charackters they could have made that would have worked better

The designer nailed Chewbacca pretty well. The face you just can’t get around that I mean even the movie up close of Chewbacca is awkward because of the costume. Probably won’t get it cause I don’t need a foot tall Chewbacca staring into my soul.
But I would definitely pick up a clone or even a b1/b2.
I actually really like this set and think the fur looks really good. That being said for $200 it’s hard pass for me but maybe if it’s on sale I would be interested
I think the stand looks like that because it's supposed to be from the death star hanger. Also around 5:40, it's really creepy how the eyes keep following you
I like the face, there's a distinctive cuteness to it. And it also captures some of the otherworldy uncanniness of Chewbacca as he appeared in the original trilogy. He's a pretty intimidating character to begin with, at least on the outside. We all know Chewie is really a gentle giant :)

Wow that’s atrocious like don’t get me wrong the whole body and bow and everything is amazingly done it’s just that face is mind numbingly terrifying. But damn 17 bags in a $200 set?!

Very good to see an honest take on this set. A lot of people have been saying it is bad but you have looked at it with an open mind which I respect.
Can’t believe they didn’t for the first time ever, give chewy arm and toe printing. They coulda made the definitive Chewbacca minifigure. Justice for chewy😤
I would’ve considered it if it had the absolute dump truck like the one in Disney Springs, but this one is flatter than a pancake

Three things would of made this set better:
1. A chewie minifigure with arm and maybe even side leg printing showing his fur.
2. A more accurate "UCS" plaque as the affiliation section technically should have the "Galactic Republic" listed as Chewbacca was one of the Wookies who came to help the clones during the Separatist invasion of Kashyyyk during Revenge of the Sith.
3. That good old cake
I don’t think Chewbacca was “technically” in the Galactic Republic. He was just defending his home planet and happened to be fighting alongside the Republic.
I kind of expected him to temporarily change the eyes to solid black pieces to see if there was any difference from it looking creepy (which I personally don't mind because he actually looked creepy in the original)... 😔

I bought this with discount last weekend. When I saw it at first I was horrified to be honest.
But sometimes something sticks and doesn’t let me go, as a big Chewbacca fan. It grew on me, and as a display piece I have the perfect spot for this in my home.
I don’t own it (yet) but I have the same emotions with the captain America shield.

I prefer the studs. They act as a frame and keeps the Lego feel.
you could also cover them up with black tiles and it would make a sick outline
Yeah exactly, it always kind of confuses me when people complain that a set isn’t completely smooth, like if you want a smooth statue you shouldn’t be buying lego for one…
I’m not even trying to defend Lego or anything, I think Lego does some really stupid things and I will always believe a lot of it is really over priced to some degree
I wonder if they could have given it a green/brown base to make it look like the forest on Kashyyyk, and whether that would have been better. Don't think I'll be getting this one.
One way to improve the set would be to change the base to the forest floor of Endor, it might have added price though.

I'll admit it looks better built than the pictures on the box but $70 is the max I'd go. $200 is insane. You could get gunship and at-te for $250

I really wish the colouring between the minifigure and the build were consistent. Personally I think the buildable figure is more colour accurate.

This set probably would have been more popular and might have sold better if they removed the bowcaster and the bandolier and just simply called it "Statue of Bigfoot".

This was a perfect opportunity to give us a new Chewy mini fig with his satchel moulded onto his torso, how they did with Logray

I was pretty excited that Lego was finally going to recolor the mixel joint pieces, but now we know that's not true. I still like the set though, but come on Lego.

My issue with Chewie is his eyes. They ought to be just black with maybe a white spot like brickheadz have.

tbh if you rotate the upper lip piece slightly it looks more like he's bearing this teeth and snarling, than looking like he heard a slightly offensive joke

Honestly I’ve never understood why people say the face looks bad or goofy. I think it is what you might expect from lego. It’s not gonna be a perfect representation of the character. It’s going to be somewhat off. I think it looks good.

Does Chewiw have bright blue eyes?? I don't think he does and it would have been far less creepy if they were dark brown or black. And a movable jaw would have fixed the awkward open mouth look

I think the face looks a little better on video compared to the renders. It's still a bit unnerving though

Love this variation of the display plaque. I understand why people didn't like the stickers, but between the injection point and the matte finish, the 8x16 tile looks horrible printed. The gloss piece looks awesome, and I like the studs. Why shouldn't a Lego display plaque look like Lego? Hope this is a running change to sets with plaques going forward if they're not going to retool the 8x16 tile for purpose.
