Cheating is NOT a mistake, it's a CHOICE. They are choosing their own wants & needs over you, they are choosing another person over you. A mistake is not knowing you're doing something wrong, Cheaters know but just don't care. Stop calling it a "mistake".
Yes it is a choice, but only a mistake if the ex lives to regret it.
Technically the choices we make can end up as mistakes. I'm sure we have all made some choices we realized were the wrong choice.
I'm sure she was emotional and livid at the time it happened but now that she's in a better place and happy, she isn't taking it so personally anymore and seeing it as something he has to live with rather than something she has to live with.
Is it a mistake if you keep going back? I agree that it’s a choice! Maybe a mistake if it happened once but not repeatedly.
I respect Shania, but she overcompensates for others' bad behavior. She tries to justify the situation by making excuses for their betrayal. Maybe, it saves her emotionally and softens the hurt. Her exes don't see their affair as a mistake - they relished in Shania's pain. No need to be charitable.
A mistake is stating, they were so wrong in choosing to cheat. Most of them believe it’s better with someone else. But what happen is they realize that can’t trust each other because they were willing to cheats. They live in misery and can’t trust one another and end up resenting each other. They want to cheat again . They live for a short thrill . When the ride is over, most of them l, realize it’s was a mistake and it’s too late.
So yes mistake is perfect .

Because cheating is also about jealousy, envy and the knowing act of hurting someone. He could've left her first but no. Even the most beautiful, successful, educted women can be cheated on.

Shania is too easy on her ex-husband and ex-best friend. She suffered terribly when the affair was discovered, damaging her health. The disrespect from her exes revealed how much they enjoyed her pain. Shania is in a great place now with her second husband and deservedly so. I'm happy she's moved on, but don't show compassion to those who lack a conscience.
Usually happens when kids are shared between parents. Especially in the public eye doesn’t look good to disparge the other parent. And Shania was right she wasn’t at fault, that Mutt didn’t have the balls to tell her the truth. That Anne Marie, Mutt’s assistant lied to her face in Shania’s own kitchen. After Shania asked her point blank. Fred had to be the one to tell her. After Fred noticed that Anne Marie was packing for a girls’ trip to a luxury spa. Fred hired private investigators and showed Shania all the receipts and photos from the spa appointments.
Shania traded up Fred, who happens to be Anne Marie’s ex husband is gorgeous.
Anne Marie and Shania bonded over shared pregnancies. Anne Marie was always very cold to Shania. Anne Marie flaunted about going to the spa in emails to Shania. Shania called her a friend but people like that are not friends.
It's not compassion that she's showing. per se. She's just not carrying that burden. It's his mistake he has to live with forever. She let it go. People can choose to dwell on something forever and hate the person that did it or just let it go for their own well being.
@@lauralarrabee7870 Yes, I read her autobiography. Shania believes her ex-husband is a great dad and unbelievably, she would like to work with him again professionally. Mutt Lange doesn't feel guilty about the pain he caused and shouldn't be given any understanding.
@@shood35 Shania has moved on with a happier second marriage, but the scandal is still being brought up after all these years. No disrespect to Shania, but I've always felt she over-compensates because the ones who hurt her feel no remorse. She's always been a protector and survivor.

If you have been cheated on please know it’s not you. Make a plan and leave. Don’t try to unf’ the cheater’s mess. Forgive and RUN. Don’t waste time fixing someone who is damaged beyond repair.
I wouldn't talk about it anymore. Both couples swapped partners and remarried them over 14 years ago.

Everyone grieves differently especially when it’s your friend and spouse but it all feels the same……I was digging through some boxes and pulled out a photo album that was 16yrs ago. The pain is like a dormant virus….and it sucks.

My friends husband cheated on her with 3 women at the same time and she was told that she wasn’t available to him. Needless to say she went back to him within 2 months.

Seems they are very compatible with each other now so why do people still have an opinion about something they really know NOTHING about? That just makes the pain worse for all concerned. Having an affair is not simply a mistake. It is a conscious decision to betray and destroy the life of the person you promise to love protect and cherish. You're consciously destroying your entire family. I have absolutely zero tolerance for cheaters. And they don't get allowed to use the excuse they made a mistake because it's far more than just a simple mistake.
It's a case by case basis and is not always so black and white. Many couples get past it.
Doesn't destroy every relationship. Some couples work through it and end up having better relationships afterwards.

What Shania conveniently left out was he didn't want her touring all over the world if he made her a star. And she told him and agreed she wouldn't but didn't hold up her end of the deal. She admitted that she said she wouldn't. Well she toured all over the world and while she was gone he hooked up with her friend. She and everyone else blames him but her friend didn't know he was married to her? Never put any blame on the the other woman right. She didn't have anything to do with wrecking that home.

Shania, just remember if they do it with you, they’ll do it to you. Once a cheater probably gonna be a cheater again. I understand people are attracted to other people even if they’re married. It’s their ethics and morals and integrity that show their character on whether they act on that attraction or not. Most of the time it’s just momentary lost and it goes away. If it is a deep true love, you don’t need to cheat. You can be above board and honest with your current partner and break it off before you cheat. Cheating is the cowards way out. And I think sometimes they think they can have their cake and eat it too. Because you were the wage earner and doing very well at the time. He probably didn’t want to lose that. And it probably was partially a midlife crisis, heck my first husband start it is 24 years old. And we were about to become parents for the first and they just bought our first home. The thing about people that are always thinking the grass is greener on the other side of that fence, have no integrity.
As much as cheating feels like the worst betrayal, cheaters often realize they did make a serious mistake once it is too late. My guess is that her ex best friend and ex husband are unhappy, but stuck.
People can betray the one they love. Her ex, Mutt, lost. She has moved on to a better relationship with a husband who TRULY loves and respects her. Good for her. ** My husband of 27 years cheated with his ugly, wrinkled AF, married coworker.
Obviously he found something about her he liked. Happens all the time. Not every man upgrades when cheating. Some actually downgrade. Weird.

That isn't a mistake...that's an incredibly bad decision. A mistake is losing count and putting one too many eggs in your cake batter.
Something similar happened to Sarah McLachlan apparently. Not exactly the same but similar.
I am sure everyone involved is doing just fine now. Nobody has a weight anymore. Which is the healthy route. And as far as Shania going easy on them, that’s what works for her, she’s moved on and not living in perpetual anger. Which is way better than being bitter and angry.
Shania has been talking about this for several years. There was a documentary about her where she spoke of it in length, so this is nothing new.
It's new to those who haven't heard about it or haven't kept up with the story. Just so you know.
There’s nothing wrong with sympathizing over poor circumstances; I feel sorry or sorrow for the misfortunes of others. I don’t take BS blames, but I’d like to think I’m never too big of a man to apologize, to empathize, to comfort. One of the absolute worst behavioral trait I’ve encountered comes from the self entitled who are too arrogant & don’t believe that they ever owe anyone an apology; especially when I can smack the taste out of their mouths on account of this dare to contraire. If I can apologize, I’m pretty sure they can find it in their hearts to apologize. The willingness to come to terms; the willingness not to take advantage of, or indulge upon, the kindnesses of others; of goodwill. That being considered this Slouch Twerp owes her an apology from the sounds & looks of it.
That’s very sad for Shania, & I’m sorry for her misfortunes. I distinctly remember her being such a Strikingly Good Looking Woman growing up. She could’ve easily had any man she wanted. There certainly doesn’t appear to be anything uniquely pleasing about this fool; surely his mind is as bankrupt as his heart. It’s truly apparent that she could’ve done better. From a specimen such as this, we can only hope at this point that his falters were with another woman.
