    I saw Elvis perform 3 times at The Louisiana Hayride in 1955, & one night I saw Elvis with Scotty Moore & Bill Black leaving the Hayride in a pink & white Ford Crown Victoria. This was before Elvis signed with Colonel Parker. Elvis loved Southern Maid Donuts & actually made a commercial for them on the radio for a dozen donuts..(I heard that’s all he got) Southern Maid Donuts is still here in Shreveport where I live & they have Elvis’s picture & other popular singers that were on the Louisiana Hayride. I heard that Johnny Cash did a commercial for them, too.
    I wrote in your previous reading about Elvis asking me to go out with him one night after he had performed. I wore a turquoise & black outfit that he liked & he came over to me to tell me. I had no idea how he looked up close & was so surprised! Sadly, I was only 14, maybe looked older to him in that outfit, but hadn’t started to date, so I had to politely refuse him. You can read what I said before about it. I’ve been a fan ever since then. So Elvis was the first guy to ask me to go out with him, a great memory! ❤ I have Lucy’s original hardback book & I believe her story.

    Thank goodness for the good doctor and the kind neighbors that helped Lucy get away from that horrible man. It's good to know that there were kind , caring people around her that took the initiative to help her out.

    There is a 1955 Elvis performance in Texas. Filmed by a lady home movie camera. It's pretty cool to watch. Supposedly, the first ever taping of Elvis performing. Just type in Elvis performing 1955.

    I don't get why some people,don't or won't believe,that Elvis could have had more children.I guess it bursts the narrative, that we have been fed for years.

    This story has so much interesting information about the early days in Elvis career before fame!
    Lucy's story is intriguing and so heartbreaking. It truly stands as a story on it's own and I'd read it with or without Elvis in it!!
    I hope they make a film of it soon, it shows life as it was back then and it how society was. That in itself is interesting!
    Thank Joe for reading to us!

    Joe, you do an awesome job. I was listening to Elvis radio driving this morning & they played a clip of Elvis talking about not writing songs but wanting too, but then saying he barely made it out of High School. The mystic of Elvis started back then & continues to this day 💞 Sure hope you get to interview Desiree ...

    After the last chapter you read, Kentucky Rain came on next and it really felt like Elvis sang about his lost Love Lucy! His tears being like rain while driving around hiping to find her... He realy lost something precious to him when loosing Lucy.
    Maybe he was really in love, preparing to be a good husband and a father to her daughters and she disappeared on him. He would have worried about her and not know if she was even alive. Maybe blaming himself for her missfortunes knowing that man could kill her for seeing someone else.
    We all thought of Elvis as a happy go lucky teen when he got his first hit but maybe he was sad and grieving for having lost her?
    Ironic that this was his first hit though... Listening to the lyrics gives a new meaning after knowing this story!
    Imagine, thanks to this book we just found out what was going on for him privately during the time of that first hit!
    He was probably already with Juanico or someone by then? But I bet loosing Lucy left him heartbroken, she may even have been his first and he really seems to have been in love with her...
    I guess you need some heart ache to be able to sing like Elvis!

      @RareElvisPhotos I've been listening intensely to most of the books, but this one is really interesting. Honestly, I completely believe Lucy's story 100%, just not sure about the Desiree part yet. I believe Lucy loved Elvis so much that she would protect him to the end and do whatever necessary for him to be happy. Sad story, really. Thanks for reading all the books. Love your voice.

    i read somewhere a person who sued for inheritance, saying they belonged to Elvis, and Elvis will says "legitimate children" and the court decided that meant chldren were legitimate if born in wedlock. i think it was deborah presley court ruling- but not positive

    • @SashaRose-d9l
      @SashaRose-d9l หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s standard legal estate wording about children. Deborah’s father is Don Yodel. He’s spoken out about his daughter lying. There is only one Elvis Presley child & that’s Lisa Marie.

    • @shannonm.4087
      @shannonm.4087 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@SashaRose-d9li am not sure which case I heard it from- but anyway the whole case was around what Elvis meant by legitimate- did he mean proven by scientific testing, or produced in a marriage. The judge decided Elvis meant a child produced from a marital union. So, it wouldn't matter if a person comes out of the woodwork with 100% proof Elvis fathered them because he only had one child produced in a marital union....

      I think this story could be true. My great grandmother was married off to my great grandfather at age 12 and he was 32. They lived in same area. Sadly common in those days. Grandmother married at age 16. Mother married at 17. Also Monroe is in Ouisitaw Parish. Pronounced Washataw. I love your singing. Thank you for reading this to us.

    Lucy had 3 children now living in a home located in an "exclusive" section of the town. She was not receiving any money from the father of her children and now worked one job at a store as her dancing/modeling job came to an end. In order to work that one job she now had to hire babysitters. Just wondering how she made ends meet?

    • @RareElvisPhotos

      Maybe we’ll find out. One good thing here is probably the house was not having to be paid for electric bill was not that expensive and the food is not gonna be the most expensive in 1953. It’s also possible she received some sort of government assistance. Good questions.
