You need to write “Sheep” 🐑 Think that would be a good name for your camera! And then you would be obligated to photograph a sheep every time you encounter one 😂
POPSYS. Simple, straightforward, and slightly mysterious. Six letters, I know, but with the whole world of fonts and kerning at your disposal I’m sure it can look quite good. 😋
Hahaha. I’ve been watching since long before the Leica video, and get a little smile each time I’ve seen the Leica label (in no small part because your humour and personality are so enjoyable). But yes, I can imagine that the joke is lost on many. You could poke at the branding by picking SONIE. ;-)
Watching you in just a sweater, no winter gear, riding a bike, with some blue skies. Over here in Michigan it’s -2F with a windchill of -17F. Color me jealous.
Cheers James, it’s Sean from Atlanta. I had a Leica Q and I never bonded with it. It was way too confining with one focal length and besides, I was pretty much still a beginner who had enough funds to waste on a camera I had no business wasting money on! Maybe you could just write “James“ in case you forget who you are somewhere in the ether? Oh, and I also like your wristwatches because that’s another weakness of mine. I first started following you when you created those incredible images of St Paul’s, for instance, as a cupcake with a candle on it. I still think that is insanely creative and hats off to you for that one! Sean
All of these have historical meaning… 1981 (first MAVICA prototype) KONICA (Acquired original brand/Style/ Konica Minolta w/ A-mount) NEX (early Sony model) MAVICA (Sony prototype/ 1981) TOKYO (where it all started) Certainly an “ICON” could always use that too…❤ You can always trick em too “YNOS” 😂 play it in reverse…
SNAP ... It's essentially what we do I reckon snap would be really cool as it would provide conversations and people might even ask. Is that a snap brain camera and that would be kind of an interesting conversation with they have someone because essentially we are all snappers aren't we?
Shooting film has really helped me avoid the angst that comes after not shooting anything you like on any given day. The delayed gratification means you don't feel like you're missing something when you don't have a nice photo to look at when you get home.
Take a black marker and fill out the S and the Y! You're left with "ON". I've done that and it's motivating when the camera is on. Cheers and have a nice weekend!
Hi James Love your channel and your images. I think you should call it 'cheese', because you have finally settled on a camera and lens combination you like. You have found your cheese. Keep up the great work mate.
Is that a Mason Bokeh? If so, we need a bike review video! I’ve always wanted a Mason. Seems fitting you would get a Bokeh given the name. You’re becoming my all-time favorite rather quickly 🤘
I agree with not doing the company’s advertising for them. I also don’t have “GSXi 2.0 16v HyperDrive LUX WithLeatherSteeringWheelAndClimateChangeAirCon” on the back of my car either
I think you should replace the Leica sticker with one that just says 'mine' ..... I'll leave you to think about how that fits with your ethos James. I think it does, which is why I always enjoy watching your videos and they inspire me to carry on taking photos.
‘Cheese’ maybe too long but whenever I think of photography I think of 🧀 don’t ask me why but guess I just associate everyone holding a camera to say those immortal words ‘say cheese’
Beat me to that! Yep, just "cheese" since you can hit the shutter while they're saying it out loud and get that slightly amused, inquisitive look on their face in the process.
I too feel exactly the same about logos which is why I never buy bags or clothing with logos or names on them. They can do their own blinking advertising. I like that you used the word, "PRESS" but to come up with my own suggestion, perhaps simply UNEEK (since unique is more than 4-5 letters). Though, I still really like "Press".
Your 50mm is much nicer than mine but looking at your pictures reminds me how much i love the FOV, I think some prime time is in order. Also, introduce us to your bike, the sound of your freewheeling has me curious!
"Newb" maybe or something from Wales like "Cawl" . My last suggestion are "Cymro" The Welsh name for Wales, which comes from the plural of Cymro, a Welshman.
Definitely "CAMRA"
Campaign for real ale? Something to get behind for sure ;)
Has to be CAMRA
I shouldn’t have said anything…
Camra, with Canon or Nikon type
@@JamesPopsysPhoto too late...hmmmm
Well, Leica is a shorthand for LEItz CAmera, where Leitz is the name of the founder. So I suggest use the same idea and name it "POPCA".
I like that a lot
In informal Russian “popca” means ass.
@@dimaroscadallacqua9926 even better!
@@dimaroscadallacqua9926 pópcia?
"Camera" seems like a suitable choice, even if it is six letters
Olympus does 7, (8 now that they're OM system) so yea 6 ain't too bad.
Yep! Best option!
You beat me to it! I came here to suggest the same word.
Easy win
This is exactly what I was going to say. Simple, clean, obvious, and it takes out the Sony logo.
You need to write “Sheep” 🐑
Think that would be a good name for your camera! And then you would be obligated to photograph a sheep every time you encounter one 😂
I came here to say this one 😂
POPSYS. Simple, straightforward, and slightly mysterious. Six letters, I know, but with the whole world of fonts and kerning at your disposal I’m sure it can look quite good. 😋
maybe add a second "o", so the middle of the word looks like Eyes, looking through the finder;)
Word for your camera label: ‘Enjoy’; a reminder to enjoy the process. 💚
probably the best one, since enjoying the proces is a big part of the latest videos
Agree, but following JP's strive for simplicity and less weight, i suggest reducing to "JOY"
Needs to be printed inside the EVF as well to remind James as well as us.
Unique idea for your sticker; "SONY". Could really help to make your camera feel personalised and one of a kind. Hope this helped
I had BRAND on the front a little while before taping over everything in matte black. That TOP or FRONT would be my options.
In honour of you riding a bike in this video… BEICA
That's clever.
Hahaha. I’ve been watching since long before the Leica video, and get a little smile each time I’ve seen the Leica label (in no small part because your humour and personality are so enjoyable). But yes, I can imagine that the joke is lost on many. You could poke at the branding by picking SONIE. ;-)
I wanted to go for working with the brand name, too and wanted to suggest „Phony“.
5 Letter word: FOCUS.
This will allow you to remind yourself to focus on photography, to focus when taking photos and to focus on the right things.
So deep.
"Focus" is a good reminder and on point for a camera.
Watching you in just a sweater, no winter gear, riding a bike, with some blue skies. Over here in Michigan it’s -2F with a windchill of -17F. Color me jealous.
What about "LUMIX" to remember your favourite camera of all time, the G9...also a great option... "NOAH"!
i do love the word "Chill" its easy its meaningful and its a constant reminder that you need to chill and have fun to get the most bangers
I've always leaned towards DAVE but I could understand JAMES.
As soon as i saw the quarry thing knew where you where. Abergele, my childhood 😊
I think TOOL is the best choice here.
Good idea!
Calm, joy , ease
Cheers James, it’s Sean from Atlanta. I had a Leica Q and I never bonded with it. It was way too confining with one focal length and besides, I was pretty much still a beginner who had enough funds to waste on a camera I had no business wasting money on!

Sean
I'm with you on the personalisation > logo thing. My vote is simply for POP!
Or you could call it ALICE as a nod to LEICA... clever huh
Call your camera "HELLO". It will get people smiling who look at it
Or even go straight for it and put SMILE up there.
All of these have historical meaning…
1981 (first MAVICA prototype)
KONICA (Acquired original brand/Style/ Konica Minolta w/ A-mount)
NEX (early Sony model)
MAVICA (Sony prototype/ 1981)
TOKYO (where it all started)
Certainly an “ICON” could always use that too…❤
You can always trick em too “YNOS” 😂 play it in reverse…
My suggestion for the word on your camera is "Gotcha". All the best.
James, only you can make Colwyn Bay pier and Rayens jetty look good. 😂
Was thinking exactly the same, a depressing car park normally 😂
SNAP ... It's essentially what we do I reckon snap would be really cool as it would provide conversations and people might even ask. Is that a snap brain camera and that would be kind of an interesting conversation with they have someone because essentially we are all snappers aren't we?

The best, because the best camera is always the one that is with you
Label your camera "Linn". It will seriously confuse audiophiles. Tell them it's an analogue camera, that stores pictures on tiny vinyl discs.
KMRA
I always enjoy your videos.
Thank you James.
Have fun.
The word that springs to mind is Fish. No idea why
And I’d add, I posted my comment before you mentioned fishing. Spooky…
Lovely images.
Tis ridiculous how much I look forward to your videos, cheers - Richard
I completely second this statement. Sitting here in the States and just love watching these vids. ❤
Ditto! Nothing pretentious about James. 🙌😊
Happy - since you say that you are always happy when you are out with your camera
To help you, put FRONT on there
Take a black marker and fill out the S and the Y!
You're left with "ON". I've done that and it's motivating when the camera is on.
Cheers and have a nice weekend!
how about Zenit as your new label? bonus points if you put a helios lens on it
Bell logo followed by end? Underrated
I think you should name it "TRIPOD" :)
GOAT of course. I wish my next one had the required letter count. One thing all UK TH-cam photags go on about. HEATHER
Suggestion 1: Gear or Tool
Simple and descriptive. Reminds you that the brand matters less than what you do with it.
Hi James
Love your channel and your images.
I think you should call it 'cheese', because you have finally settled on a camera and lens combination you like.
You have found your cheese.
Keep up the great work mate.
A bit basic but you could simply put : JAMES or POPSYS
You beat me too it: Popsys
I got the perfect word for your camera: GEAR 😉
If "smile" would be appropriate for a portrait photographer, maybe for your landscape work you should use "sunny".
PLOS (Panasonic, Leica, Olympus, Sony) - The manufacturers you have use/used. or POLS, if is in ownership order.
Put a sponsor's logo on there for each season. It could help fund some of your trips.
"FISH" should do the trick! Catchy, fun, easy and like you said, we are just like fishermen after all!
*"SONY"* is good, I'd say! Makes people wonder, what non-SONY looks exactly like a SONY.
Came here to say this too, Sony it should be.
TARDIS.
After all it’s a Time Machine that you have there in your hands James.
FRONT
SIMPL or SMPLFY - because as you've mentioned recently that's probably the most important thing to remember when shooting.
Given your surname and being a father, how about POPS or POPSY?
Is that a Mason Bokeh? If so, we need a bike review video! I’ve always wanted a Mason. Seems fitting you would get a Bokeh given the name. You’re becoming my all-time favorite rather quickly 🤘
POPSYS: if you dont like doing advertising for the bigger companies then you might as well advertise yourself!
'POPS'. Happy New Year, keep up the great work 📷
“40mm” for the ones who don’t know your favorite focal length
I agree with not doing the company’s advertising for them. I also don’t have “GSXi 2.0 16v HyperDrive LUX WithLeatherSteeringWheelAndClimateChangeAirCon” on the back of my car either
smile would be great.
I think you should replace the Leica sticker with one that just says 'mine' ..... I'll leave you to think about how that fits with your ethos James. I think it does, which is why I always enjoy watching your videos and they inspire me to carry on taking photos.
Always hard passing on a loved Camrea
lol, you haven't watched the video
@@_rhapsodist I did lol
I say stretch to 6 letters and go for TRIPOD so you can finally learn to love using one
Camera name "HOLGA" for a bit of nostalgia
I definitely wasn't prepared for the biking outfit 😂.
How about “FUN”. After all that’s what you were talking about. Having fun making photos!
I have two suggestions for your label: EYE (the photographer's eye), and LIGHT (a very important requirement for photography).
Hit multivaluable mantra "FOCUS"😊
I would name it “mate”
FUN, JOY, and SUNNY are all good suggestions I've seen in the comments. It could also be WHY?, DERP, HELLO, G'DAY, or BLANK.
If you're traveling the world, choose one of the most common words world-wide for your camera brand: Taxi
I would put 'Snap' on the front of the camera. I also like 'Bear', but that's just because I am a bit obsessed with the animal 😂🐻
"DSLR"
I too feel exactly the same about logos which is why I never buy bags or clothing with logos or names on them. They can do their own blinking advertising. I like that you used the word, "PRESS" but to come up with my own suggestion, perhaps simply UNEEK (since unique is more than 4-5 letters). Though, I still really like "Press".
Well, that was very enjoyable.
"POPSY" "POPS" "ALPHA" or "OMEGA" if your going against the grain lol. Great video, I might do the same to mine.
Sheep smile too, Mr. Popsis 😁 Happy New Year, sir.
UPDOG
😂😂
@@JamesPopsysPhoto I’m not even sorry
Your 50mm is much nicer than mine but looking at your pictures reminds me how much i love the FOV, I think some prime time is in order. Also, introduce us to your bike, the sound of your freewheeling has me curious!
TOOL - because it’s a tool, and at times we can all be a bit of a tool…..
I loved the music in this video.
Its not 4 or 5 letters, but "Cannon" 😂😂
I like that pier in the background.
FONY?
“Click” would be good, maybe have an old style comic book vibe
"SYSPOP". Perfect for those mirror/reflection selfies.
I’m with “CAMRA”, especially if you like beer! :)
Some ideas:
- GRAVY
- MILK
- HEY
Thanks, James ✌
You live in the UK, so I think "Sunny" instead of Sony would be a great branding for your camera. Would always give you something to hope for. Cheers.
Damn, James, you finally tipped me over the edge, my sony will become a Konica.
I'll always find it surreal seeing places i grew up around in these videos
"Newb" maybe or something from Wales like "Cawl" . My last suggestion are "Cymro" The Welsh name for Wales, which comes from the plural of Cymro, a Welshman.
Lots of great suggestions here, James. I would add, Semaj or Syspop. Have a great new Year now.
Great stuff, James. Enjoying the content on MPB as well.
Suggestion 2: Enoki
Those unfamiliar with the word will think it's a new micro brand from Japan, while you'll just know that it's a tasty mushroom.
I like TOOL, it's either calling the camera a tool or it's a reference to the person behind the viewfinder 😂
Bearing in mind that you shoot a lot at 50mm, maybe you should have NIFTY on your label.
GLOW. Or, mood and result dependent (in rotation), BOOM and BUST.
FOCUS 😊
I just it's important to have a word that'll make you smile. Like WANG or HUGE or BIGUN.
