    Thank You, Sir. This is so important to explain people, what Alzheimer disease is from the basic. My dad is 68yo and he has it. I noticed his memory loss before he was 40!!! I think that people may be born with this disease (??????) My dad had always problem to remember things: important dates, names, to understand things about retirement for example, which were obvious, sometimes he couldn't find right word to explain somenting simple, there were learning dificulties as well. I write from small village in Poland and we don't have many information here about this disease.

    Hi, thanks for the video. I was wondering when the cell gets destroyed through the combined work of amyloid plaque and tau tangles, what remains. Does the neuron itself disappear leaving the tau tangles and amyloid plaque behind? Or does the neuron body remain, like dead debris in the brain?

    Great lecture! One comment however. ApoE4 does not guarantee Alzheimer's disease. It is a strong genetic risk factor that has been shown to contribute to virtually all aspects of AD. However, a patient can die with ApoE4 and not have been diagnosed with AD or show symptoms of AD. Additionally, the data linking ApoE4 to gamma secretase is lacking in the recent literature. Also, SORL1 is a genetic risk factor not a cause for AD.

    Does Beta amyloid Protein is lipo-protein, if yes what is the lipid part in this. Secondly, how the amyloid proteins are pulled out and deposited as senile plaques means what would be the mechanism for coming out and deposited externally as senile (amyloid) plaques.
