This is something you don't see often now-a-days. If you just watch Ronnie Bowman, you can tell what the emotion of the song is supposed to be! I love bluegrass and I LOVE in your face bluegrass, but today there are few lead singers that portray the song they are singing. I feel like it has become more about who can play the "coolest licks" rather than the emotion! cudos Mr. Bowman!
It had to have been one of those years right in that range. I remember it being about 110 degrees that weekend and we left the festival for half the day to go sit in Cave Run Lake and cool off.
This is 100% better than the album version..... Ronnie has such a buttery smooth voice and Sammy is working his tail off on that banjo! Literally makes the song!!! That ending!!! OMG
I love Lonesome River Band-they’re my favorite band, and this is probably my favorite LRB lineup- but Jerry McMillan’s vocals are better for this song.
i would disagree. tim austin sammy shelor dan tyminski and ronnie bowman is the best lrb ever. maybe not the best isn't the best words to describe. the fire was sure burning at that time though. LRB is the best!
I love this song...and this is the only lonesome river band lineup
This sure brings back some memories. I was at that festival.

Just listen to the back up Sammy does on the banjo! Best there ever was!

That was my favorite config too. "Carrying The Tradition" and "Old Country Town" are landmark Bluegrass albums.

I envy you:-) Do you remember what year was it? '97?
It's great! However you mis-spelled "LRB with Tyminski, Austin, Shelor, & Bowman" = the BEST LRB ever. :D
