I like Larkin and Raymond together and I think they would fit really well with Tarasenko's skillset. Kane and Cat are a good duo and Compher can help cover their deficiencies. Copp can shelter Kasper from the center position, and Berggren gets to play with some guys who might contribute offensively a little bit. I'd put Ras back at center for the 4th line, I think that would be a good 4th line. Veleno can work in/out as the 13th forward.

Love Daniella's work and presence with the Detroit teams. We've had quite a few folks that kinda come and go, but she's easily been one of the very best we've had. I'm routinely impressed at how much she knows about the Red Wings and Tigers, and seeing her do some game calling during camps has been awesome. We've been pretty fortunate to have her around, she's done a great job.

Then I moved to Norway and discovered that the said package is NOT AVAILABLE IN EUROPE. Wtf, NHL? You do not need paying customers in Europe? Guess where I go now to watch my hockey.
I would also like to see a Berggren/Veleno/Kasper line. That could be a capable line IMO. Hope we continue to try out other players on the PK like they started doing with Raymond. I think hockey sense and anticipation works both ways. If they do that, it may open up the possibility of moving Rasmussen. They have Motte now on a lesser contract and could slot him up there on the third line. Could open up some cap if they want to pursue a trade or just bring up Kasper. We have a surplus of similar skilled wingers as mentioned. Rasmussen plus something for Lillegren maybe? A works for both teams hockey trade possibly?

No shame in losing to the Rangers with Igor playing in goal on fire. Juggling the 8 defensemen they need with injuries occurring through the year should not be a problem. If Holl plays a simple defensive game next to Edvinsson and we see a few 11 forwards 7 defensemen games that spread the workload evenly.....that could work. Lillegren for a third rounder sounds like an upgrade on the right side. Too bad they hate Holl in Toronto.

So will people still be ok with this in another 2-3 years when they are still very much a wild card bubble team with only a few younger players on the roster?

Lalonde is what u call a mediocre coach. When everything is rolling fine then he does ok. But when there are injury or chemistry issues he is lost for a long time. He makes line changes that are ineffective and sticks with it. Tries to always go the safe route. As for prospect call ups i know there are some limitations with rookie waiver exemptions and roster construction problems aka kasper being a center and having 4 centers playing their part. But what about something like copp playing wing so they can keep him in line up for penalty killing and defensive zone time. Having kasper play with berggren. Or taking a risk and put Johansson with edvisson. Since they have good chemistry from a year in ahl.

Detroits my fav team but come on. They don’t have the 3rd best shooters. It was obvious that would drop this year. And besides 9th on powerplay doesn’t make or break a coach. I would say adapting and adjusting your line up quickly when things go wrong is what makes a coach. He def had a difficult roster to adjust with but not so much so that the entire team completely falls apart on both sides when Larkin gets hurt. Make line up changes that are completely ineffective for a month. None of these would fire him last year. But if they don’t make the playoffs guess who is going first.
