Thank you so much for your transcription of the full version. I love the short saxophone and trumpet solo parts, which all are missing in the short version of this piece of movie history (I've never seen Dirty Dancing. I only know the song. No joke :D). It's very hard, but very fun to play.
Interesting sticking in the chorus. I opted to play 16ths when we did this because we had no percusions. I also played the cross-stick in the verses and did the shaker pattern on hihats. Took some getting used to but it pretty much follows the kick drum so it wasn't that hard.
Very smooth, great drum sound similar to original. May I ask, why you opted to omit the cross stick in the intro (0:22 - 1:09)? Did you consider it to be a part of the separate percussion? Also, in the chorus (1:23 - 1:59) I can't tell whether the sticking is 16-th note on hi-hat or it's being dubbed by separate percussion again (tambourine maybe?). Would be great to know your opinion :-) Oh and I loved your sticking approach to use your left hand for the open hi-hat on 1:07. So simple yet I guess most of us would try to do it using just the right hand. Gives out the right sound too.
Hi +Petros Attas on the first part of the song I think it's a percussion loop with a sound like cross stick and shakers. it's my opinion because if you ear the sound of drums, it's a little under the loop. But when I did the transcription I needed to take a way to write it... I took this one... ;) Same in the chorus, I thought 16-th notes are played by a shaker... I must contact the drummer who played on this song to be sure ;)
You're most probably right. Shakers perhaps on the 16-th note sound. Maybe I'll try adding the cross-stick on the drumset. I think there's no drummer probably the drum part is programmed :-) Thank you! This is the band by the way en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franke_and_the_Knockouts
+WEB MUSIC SCHOOL Exactly. It's unfortunate not to have any footage of the original drummer perform cause it's such an exciting song for drumming. What can you do?
There might be a couple of double cymbal crashes in the studio cut that aren’t in your cover, no? Take another close listen and see if you hear what I hear... great cover though!
Neil Rosser please Neil check the description of the channel so you will discover I play on the original song so sometimes there are some sound mistakes

This is a very creative song for drums, always some interesting going on. You're missing the little tom parts, though.

It could be JR Robinson, sorta sounds like a drum part he might play and the right era too

“You got sheet music for this?”
Hello, yes and you can find it here bestmusicsheet.com/product/bill-medley-the-time-of-my-life/
WEB MUSIC SCHOOL I was quoting “dirty dancing” shame on you 😂😂😂
Seems like you just skipped some segments and left the original drum track in to fill
I played the original drum part
@@bestmusicsheet umm, no you absolutely did not. Paul Liem did and you are not Paul Liem. Why would you even try to claim that?
I don't think you're even recording audio. It looks like you're just showing video of yourself playing over the audio of the original track.
Robbie and Sam Larousso dancing on this track in Cobra Kai.
Oh really?!
