This is amazing. Based on your review of the Z-Axis, I purchased the full upgrade to the X-Carve. I received it yesterday. My wife helped with the assembly of the X-Carve a couple of years ago. Tomorrow we start the disassembly. I’m still keeping the controller from the X-Carve. Looking forward to your next video.
I don't think you've went any different way. Once again thanks to you for not only giving advice, but making videos for people who are upgrading and benefit from your videos
Nice! I have been looking at one of these for a little while. May shoot for one later this year. Will be nice to see how you enjoy it in the mean time!
On one day I WILL have a Cnc machine like this one but for now I am ordering the 3080pro updated model to get my foot in the door and to learn the computer programs.... if you had to change out your cutter motor would you get a dewalt or a Mikita but the dewalt is 2 and 1/4hp was as the Mikita is only a 1/4 hp....So out of those two which
Both are good routers. Many people like the Mikita better. I have two Dewalt 611 and have had no problems. I do change the brushes around the 200 hour operation point.
1000x1000mm sounds a great size, unfortunately I am very restricted on horizontal space. Would the stepper motors be strong enough if the CNC was mounted vertical to a wall?
Really happy to hear your got that baby from a company you respect. Nice looking price compared to xcarve for the 1000. Looking forward to side by side comparisons. I'll have to check if there's a higher clearance on z axis on the newbie. And any specs difference in the 2.5 vs 3 d carving compared to xcarve? That pre assembly is huge +. Boy was that xcarve assembly tough. Been 6 months and I still remember that pain.
Thank you. Yes, I remember assembling the XCarve. It seems like an endless supply of tiny parts...this is so much easier with much of it pre-assembled.
It has helped my work flow and the types of projects that I can do. It is well worth the addition to the shop. I am doing projects that I would never have been able to do without the cnc.
I don't do this professionally, but I can comment on two thing: accuracy and repeatability. I made a lamp project ... Now I have a set of Gcode files, I can go carve 20 lamps and they'll all be done with 100% accuracy and done quicker than by hand. 2nd thing is accuracy, I really believe I'll never be as accurate as the cnc ... No matter how square my tablesaw is. There's something really satisfying about cnc accuracy. The production workflows using Fusion 360 are just excellent. Also, cnc can be carving a project while you're doing something else.
Paw Paw’s WorkShop I’m new to the CNC idea. Is this a good beginners machine?? How would I add the dust “boot”?? Does this work with the ease software that xcarve makes?? I’ve found that software to be easy.
Yes, it is easier to build that the XCarve and it is a good beginner machine. Yes, you can use Easel. I am looking at adding a dust boot for a video in the near future. It will attach to the router.
@@PawPawsWorkShop Why that posted on this video is beyond me? It was supposed to be on your Clamp All Four Corners at Once (Picture Frame Jig) Sorry about that.
Oh no, you have drank the coffee and went down the path of sponsorship and I feel like many episodes are becoming more a commercial then what I came to learn from you. This really makes me sad. Your such an awesome channel but I feel my viewership slipping away. I am hanging for a little longer but sadly I feel I may end up unsubscribing and blocking the channel in suggestions.
This is not a sponsorship. Yes, CNC4Newbie did give me the CNC but I am free to do as I wish. I find that there is not enough information for people to be informed. Some still believe that a cnc machine has no business in the shop. I also find a lot of confusion on how to make the cnc work in the shop with more traditional tools. Instructions are vague and incomplete. I find that my own learning curve is very steep. I wanted to move to a more substantial machine. It is just another step for me and for the channel. I welcome you to take the journey with me in my shop. In my day to day shop activities I do many different projects. My videos record that experience.
lol. Inventables does not have a lead screw drive and lineral bearings. It was time to move from the belts and v wheels. BTW, I will still use the xcarve. I'm not retiring it.
Kudos to you and CNC4Newbie. You will love this machine. I upgraded the end of 2019 and it has been amazing.
Thank you very much.

Fantastic! It is exciting.

Thanks Paw Paw I'm going to donate my Xcarver to a school. Now I'm considering a new CNC machine
You're welcome.

There are a number of people who store there machine vertical but I would not try to carve anything on the vertical.

I see you have multiple CNC machines. Which one do you recommend?
I would get the largest machine for your budget and space allows. Projects typically will start small and you will out grow the machine
I've been tossing around the idea of investing in cnc for my shop. How did it improve work flow and sales on products made with it?
It has helped my work flow and the types of projects that I can do. It is well worth the addition to the shop. I am doing projects that I would never have been able to do without the cnc.

Well said.
is there a next video which shows the setup?
Yes, I have a complete playlist that shows the complete assembly and more. Just look under my playlist.
did you do the laser printing on you cnc
Yes, the xcarve is setup with the laser.
Do they offer a Z probe? If not, what are you planning to use?
I actually have not thought that far ahead yet. I am working on the build video now.
Does this machine have dust collection like the xcarve??
No, but it is easy to add one.

Does the controller come with it?
The recommended controller is sold separate. It is the Demon Controller. You can find it on the cnc4newbie website.
Do you have actual plans for this?
No, you have all the information available. What specific information do you need?

Nice... keep it up
Thank you, I will

Thank you
