Open Frame Motherboard Install Mini-ITX DIY PC

Watch this video and see how I install a Mini-ITX motherboard onto my open frame computer. I will mark, drill, tap and install standoffs before mounting the motherboard. I made an open frame PC chassis for a Mini-ITX motherboard and graphics card. Here I share the details of how this is completed. The frame is made with hand tools from 6063 aluminum extrusions and stainless steel screws. Angles, channels and square bar. Brass Standoffs have M3/6-32 threads. ASUS ROG STRIX H470I. Intel Core I5 CPU.

I'm going to be doing something similar inside of a vintage 1930s RCA Victor radio. Replacing the speaker with a SilverStone 160mm fan. Stripping the old electronics out and building out an aluminum chasis inside with a heat shaped acrylic shroud to extend the body of the "case" and allow the RGB goodness to shine out into the world.

What is the size of mother board screw

The brass standoff has M8 female threads (motherboard side) and 6-32 male threads (frame side), so the motherboard screw is M8. Hope this helps and good luck with your project!
