    One of the best videos I've seen in a long while.
    We desperately need some new Sir Stanleys in the UK.
    The problem is we reward people who own things and administer things (especially if they know some latin!).
    We are always shy about rewarding people who actually design things.

    Whilst there are obvious heroes on the battlefield, there are those who work heroically to empower the battlefield heroes. Imagine our modern life without their efforts.

    Sir Stanley Hooked was pioneer in British aeronautical technology and innovation. His genius in aircraft engine design is unmatched and he remains a tribute to aviation engineering not only in England but throughout the world..

    Sir Stanley was my idol engineer when I was younger. A brilliant engineer who shaped thr jet age as we know it.

    Damm now i know why he is a "Sir"
    Basically the aviation as we know it's his accomplishment.
    He invented the turbine jet engine.

      He didnt invent it that was Sie Frank Whittle. ..Hooker worked with Whittle on its development though.
