Did you ever see the Italian version he did in 1970? It wasn't made by hammer, and was very faithful to the book. Right down to him having a big silly mustache and de-aging throughout the movie.
Nice review, this is a great figure Also did you know that Horror of Dracula, alongside Psycho and Night of the Living Dead were considered very edgy horror films for the time they came out? Like many people of those olden days were unnerved by those three movies because of how extreme they were for the time, and a lot of preteens and teenagers of that time wanted to see 3 movies and they were popular with that demographic
A shame that the most iconic UK movie version of Dracula won't release here in the UK until closer to January, but I can wait. This figure looks great and as strange as it sounds I'm glad they kept it accurate to the first film and didn't give him the red lining inside of the cape. I always saw Dracula as a goofy Halloween costume as a kid but seeing the more subdued all black look of Lee's version along with his animalistic ferocity as what sold me on the character way back when.
Nice Video and Nice Figure Too! Where did you get it? And I wonder when NECA will release the An American Werewolf In London David and Jack 2 Figure Pack!?
I got it directly from neca's online store when it first went up. I don't know if there are any left on that website, but you can pre-order it from other places now as well I think
I love this Christopher Lee Dracula - I just wish they made one with the fangs out and no blood headsculpt. hopefully they make one with the black and red cape from the later films. Dont mind them milking this. I can't wait to get the Peter Cushing Van Helsing to display him with. Also, just realized they definitely made Lugosi way too tall as he was 6-1.
Laura Palmer, showing your age there Jason, I wonder how many of the kids these days would get that reference. (Or are all action figure collectors these days an older generation?) You praise NECA's figure photographing skills but I feel it's fair to point out that your videography skills have always been on point, do you use any special equipment or did you have any training?
Ah well my highest demo is 35 to 44 so I figured I can't be the ONLY Twin Peaks fans on here lol thanks for the kind words! I did attend an art school for middle school which taught me a lot about composition, light, color, and so on. Beyond that, it's something I am very passionate about and have continued to study on my own.
This is a nice coincidence. I've literally just finished watching The Satanic Rites Of Dracula (TBH it's not great and Lee is only in it for around 15 minutes, but I'm a sucker for Hammer horror movies).
I kinda love that one, mostly because the movie calls itself out for not making sense at the end. Check out Dracula 1972 AD for one that's just plain fun.
You know, I feel like the Langella film might be the best adaptation. As much as I love Copola's version he added so much lore and really swallowed the story in style. The Langella film is nice and straightforward, and kept the fantastical elements that the Hammer version didn't. Plus that wonderful John Williams score. But I'd be very surprised if we ever saw him in plastic.
Well honestly I want six Gary Oldman figures. I want the armor, the gray suit and top hat, that kimono and wig look like Cinderella's stepmother, the bat version, the wolf version, and that bejeweled gold number he had at the end when Winona Ryder lobbed his head off. But I do want a Frank Langella also lol
The overall look is great. But is it just me or does the face not quite Christopher Lee but a more of a look alike Christopher? Something about the eyes I think. I understand it's not an easy task to sculpt an exact duplicate of an actor or celebrity. But it's not bad at all and
@@5POAFigureReviews me too. if they went to the bother of securing his rights for dracula. i'm sure they have a deal for multiple figures for both him and cushing.
Neca track record of human faces is spotty? I don’t believe so. Trevor Grove is one of the best sculptures out there all the back to the future all of the universal monsters all of the ninja turtle figures which figures had the worst head sculptures. Please let me know cause I do not know what you’re talking about.
Nice to see you do some more Neca. I love their Invisible Man figure!
I'm waiting on the new version
@@5POAFigureReviews I would argue it may be his more iconic look
Never, ever thought I'd see this made.😂❤
I think NECA announced in 2020 or 2021 that they got the license, so I have been not so patiently waiting.
My favorite Dracula, thanks for the review details
You're very welcome!
Great review! Also I really appreciate how much knowledge you have on the matter. Can't wait to get this version of Dracula for the collection
Thank you! I do love when I get to stretch my love of horror
@@5POAFigureReviews It's awesome when you do! Keep the great job
Still waiting to find this guy for my vampire collection and really hoping Neca , or someone, makes a Jerry Dandridge figure
Woah he's pretty cool. If this figure doesn't get ya in the mood for Halloween I don't know what will! 🎃
Definitely!
Great review! I am excited to know that a figure of Peter Cushing as Abraham van Helsing is on the way!!!
Great video. I am looking for him! Thank you.
You're welcome!
6:40 Now THATS a figure i wanna see made
Right???
Thankyou! Come on neca, we beg of you!!
A Gary Oldman Dracula figure would be awesome! Especially if he came with multiple heads.
My favorite dracula
Did you ever see the Italian version he did in 1970? It wasn't made by hammer, and was very faithful to the book. Right down to him having a big silly mustache and de-aging throughout the movie.
I cannot wait to really buy this one
Hope you'l don't have to wait for very long
Is the background library the set from Buffy?
It sure it! Good catch!
Nice review, this is a great figure

I’m going to want to get this. I’ve got Christopher Lee at count Dooku in 6 inch and 3.75 inch sizes.
Yeah, Dooku is an underrated Star Wars character
Now we need blacula
is the cape the same quality and fabric as the bela lugosi cape?
Yep!

I hope he hits stores soon, along with Vincent Price. They're my current most wanted figures.
Yes, I'm still patiently awaiting my Vincent Price and hoping it comes in time for 5POAWEEN
I wonder how many people will customize that Van Halsen figure to become a Dalek Movie Dr. Who.
I'm not enough of a Whovian to have thought of that, but I have heard of people planning on using him to make a Candyman
My first non DC RIGAMAROLE DONE ✅👍.. I love hammer horror 🎃🎃🎃
Awesome! I love Hammer as well
When will it come out???? And will it come to Walmart and or Target?????
I expect so but I don't know. If you want to check Best Buy I have noticed they seem to get NECA stuff first
@@5POAFigureReviews thank you my friend
Top tier
Absolutely!
don't have any experience with NECA but it looks fantastic, the old Hammer Dracula movies were weird but fun to watch
I am pretty excited for Vincent Prince to get here
is this going to sold on amazon?
I don't know for sure but I expect so
when is Peter Cushing coming out ?
How did u cape string down mine keeps popping up
Oh I don't know, I haven't had a problem with that one. Sorry about that

Knowing NECA as I do, I am certain they will find as many ways as possible to put this figure out there

@@5POAFigureReviews Cool, man of many talents.
I expected Neca to know he wore Chelsea boots and not loafers.

@@FridayOneEye I haven't watched Dracula 1972 AD in years but I'll definitely be rewatching it soon now that I'm back on the Hammer bandwagon.
I love 1972 AD so much. My favorite is the idiot vampire who bumbles into the bathtub and holy waters himself by accident lol
Oh yeah, I love the Hammer movies. Lot of fond memories watching them with my mom
We don't need Oldman's Dracula next, although that would be an awesome figure. The next one should be Frank Langella's Dracula.
You know, I feel like the Langella film might be the best adaptation. As much as I love Copola's version he added so much lore and really swallowed the story in style. @@5POAFigureReviews Gary Oldman Dracula - Collect the Whole Set. LOL.
His grey suit/top hat and his bat and wolf forms would be cool.
They should have used mate finish on the face and hands. And the paint app is kinda sloppy in ereas
Yeah, upon closer inspection the eyebrows are just ever so slightly too low
I'm such an uncultured goob raised on a NES in the 80s. My only Neca Dracula is the Castlevania one.
Oh hey that's a good one too

Did u need garlic while Making this video?
I aimt him butttt maybe he did
Was so happy NECA got the Hammer license. Hope we get a Gorgon.
That would be great! I'm hoping for Curse of Frankenstein, their version of the Mummy, and the Golem.

At least in his defense he has a rubber jacket and no diaphragm joint. What's DC Multiverse's excuse? Lol
