I have to ask, is it a policy to always have the snowboarders go first at every single event? They've gone first at every event this season and while they are less capable (so I guess the tour is being nice, or just really lucky?), would love to see the skiers get a clean face for once.

Agreed, it's kinda BS really. Mens skiers should be first and that's that.

      Two words: Natural Selection
The snowboarders have threatened to (and some of them have) take their toys and run off to play elsewhere, so the FIS/FWT have responded by sweetening the deal for the ones who remain, such as Victor De La Rue.
There is also a sort of logic to it if you look at it from the organizers' PoV and what creates the best overall program: Snowboarders suffer more from chop and cut up snow than do skiers, but they also have a unique surf-y fluidity in untracked powder. Letting them run first helps the overall appeal of the entire program more than putting the skiers first would.
With all of that said, I think that snowboards just aren't the right tool for the sorts of faces that the FWT runs, and _that_ is the reason why Natural Selection tour with its lower-angle, "surf-friendly", freestyle-oriented venues is succeeding. It puts the snowboarders in a more favorable light than the Bec or the Wildseeloder ever will.

@@patrickchase5614 all good and well, but really nobody gives af about snowboarding so if they want to go elsewhere, fine by us!

Really they just need better conditions at the venues like they had in Georgia and verbier these conditions are bullshit

Was my first impression too but he still got a 90... And there's 5 criteria when judging. Line choice was more mellow, less exposure, not skied as fast. I trust the judges were thinking hard about that one and for sure explained it to Maxime after the comp.

why are there so few competitors in this competition? Seems like a huge amount of work for this small field.

    Maxime Chabloz.
Unfair assessment. Double backflip and 720. Who did it and left everyone? Great line, speed, fluidity. I am disappointed.

I don't know why, but it feels like the judges have the biggest grudge against him. He's such a sick skier. They underrate his runs so much
