In The Mood - Solo Acoustic Arrangement (Fingerstyle)

- My arrangement of the 1939 big band-era song by Glenn Miller and his orchestra.
Most of the inspiration for this came from the Chet Atkins recorded version which is in the same key (E maj). This arrangement starts with a simple root / 5th alternate bass (chet style) for the verse, then a walking bass in the third verse.
I tried to include various sections of the sax parts from the original, alongside some standard bluesy guitar fills / licks of my own. Recording is with a blended signal from the condenser mic and the guitar transducer pickup.
Awesome version and performance Thomas ! Bravo ! 🎸🎵🎶
Thanks a bunch Adam!
By chance I've come across your clip. To be honest I wouldn't have expected such a high level of technical proficiency and brilliant sound. That was really great! 👍👏 The undeserved little number of likes can only be due to TH-cam invisibility.
Thanks very much for watching, and of course for the kind words as well!
Back to solo guitar, but seems just as busy as multi instrumentals of late. There's a lot going on in this one, and spot on tune. I closed my eyes and saw Glen on stage conducting!!
That 5-finger orchestra speaks for itself - I'm only commenting to help the engagement.
Videos like this tend to fall into one of two categories :
#1 "Yeah, if I buckled down and practiced the time... yeah, I think I could do that in a year or two."
#2 "Nope." (on edit: I expect it's self-explanatory, but this one is a #2)
Appreciate that, thanks! 🙏
so glad i found you! you're amazing now, keep playing!
Me too, thank you for the support! 🙏
Fabulous guitar arrangement and performance. Well done!
Thank you very much!
It was epic!
Glad you think so, thanks!
Glen Miller would be proud, no doubt.
Thanks! 👍
Do you sell tabs?
Sorry I don’t. Be great if I had the facility to, but I just play and work stuff out purely by ear. If you like this style of playing though, check out the guitarist Richard Smith. He’s got a website where he sells tabs and tuitional content. It’s mostly well known pieces arranged for fingerstyle, a lot of ragtime but some pop/folk stuff too. Thanks for watching 👍
