    the green centerline actually indicates a road type, the green centerline indicates a highway with crossings (max 100km/h). The continues white lines indicate no overtaking. Interrupted white lines mean you are allowed to overtake. In the beginning you saw a continues and an interrupted white line meaning that the cars driving on the interrupted side are allowed to overtake and the ones on the continues side are not allowed to overtake.

    On 8:12 there is a yield sign. See the ' shark teeth' pointing towards you. means you'll have to stop

    I wonder if you have noticed the rows of triangles painted on the road just before a crossing. It seems not all countries use them. We call them "haaientanden" (shark teeth), and they are effectively a yield sign: if one point of the triangles points in your direction, you have to yield.

    • @larswilms8275
      @larswilms8275 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The yield sign is the only triangular sign with the point down, all other warning sign are triangles with the point up. The stop sign is the only octagonal sign. So you can recognize these signs even when they are covered with snow/mud.

    No green line means 100 km per hour, but lines means that you are not allowed to pass via the other line.

    This video made my blood boil too! People really can get crazy as hell on the road. That’s why prefer my bike and public transport.

      Absolutely i agree with you! And it's getting worse because of D.W.I. and cellphone usage behind the wheel. However, public transportation in the Netherlands... 2 weeks ago i went by train. Halfway to my destination something went wrong, and the train went no further. No replacement buses where arranged, so i had to hitch-hike to my destination. Need a couple more driving lessons, and then i can join the war! To HxC: Depending on my stupidity, i might appear in a next video...

    The last clip shows a street with a speed limit of 30 kmh. The two cars taking over there probably find that too slow.

    We dont realy use yield or stop signs we have what we call sharkteeth on the road the triangles on the road indicate who has right of way if they point at you the shark will basically bite you if you dont yield

    That red car hitting the cyclists must be caught later because the numberplate could be seen clearly. What a bleep.

  • @dvb8637
    @dvb8637 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry but the cyclists on the crosswalk were wrong. Not the cardriver. You cannot cycle on a pedestrian crossing and is exclusively intended for pedestrians and also only those are given priority.

    • @ffortissimo
      @ffortissimo ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They were on the seperate bike path and not on the pedestrian crossing. Also, you're never allowed to hit somebody on purpose and also never allowed to leave the scene of the accident.

    • @dvb8637
      @dvb8637 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ffortissimo nope take a good look they were on the pedestrian crossing and not on a separate bike path. There was not even a separate bike path where they crossover. The car also didnt hit them on purpose. The car didnt had time to stop. The car went over the pedestrian crossing at the same moment as those cyclists . I do agree its never good to drive away from the accident. But i think the driver was in shock of what happend. Never the less. Those cyclists were wrong.

    • @ffortissimo
      @ffortissimo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dvb8637 look again, or at the original video @1:16.
      They are on the red pavement between the white blocks.
      You also see them on the bikelane when turning into the crossing.
      And even when they were on the zebra crossing, the car couldn't have seen that before he hit them.

    • @glasruitje
      @glasruitje ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a cross over for both pedestrians as cyclists, it's a typical Dutch roundabout so the driver was wrong.

  • @stevekenilworth

    1:30 you can clearly see van moving out, no defensive driving at at all were were they looking at the phone. when driving you meant to look out for hazards and react if need be. it be different if they slowed and then went around slowly if hit then its all on the van, the speed and no reaction and you can see from mile away vans moving out so plenty time to reduce speed more hazards / dangers the slower you need to be so van 60% at fault but cam car i say up to 40% at fault, reaction and awareness of a sloth
