In this day of 'social distancing' and the fear of crowds, it's good to visit a video like this with the computer plugged into a decent set of speakers to remind me of what I can't go see, at least not this year. Nice video!
I agree with the raw feel and a manual, but I really hate carbs. Temp drops 5 degrees? ... Rejet. Oh 10% more moist, rejet again. Etc. So finicky. I wish they would allow pneumatically closing valves so 10k rpm would not be the be-all-end-all of the RPM range. Can't stand springs and the float/bounce problems. Do they allow disc brakes for safety?
@@barath4545 The limit in terms of age is 1967, and disc brakes existed back then... If you can find a way to reasonably explain it I'm sure it's fine. But a set of 6 piston brembos robbed off of a CTSV? I dont think that'll fly... from the few cars I've seen, they all had drums.
Awesome video, this brings back a lot of fond memories, the true straight heads up racing with more action than I can hardly stand.love the smell of racing fuel all day long. Can't get enough of it.carry on.well done urrrrrrrrrr aaaa
Love watching these bad ass gassers...they are better watching them the funny cars and injection cars.. these guys really shift those gears with speed and precision...
I would watch this over pretty much any other form of drag racing period! Real cars, manuals, high rpm and open headers! SOOO much better than any promod, I don't care how fast they are!
John Z thank you sir! I would like to post more. I moved a few hours away from them now for a full time job with the military so I never am able to go to the races anymore. But hopefully I’ll be at the last race of the year and get some footage
great video. thanks for posting I'm in northern Indiana. nice to watch races in the winter. looking forward to more gonna be down there in july to ride around the mountains for a couple weeks. my brother lives in piedmont.
They were just at Lyons Dragway in Linton, IN on July 8, 2017. Thats just south of Terre Haute. We went and it was a great show with only half the cars on the list there. It's something to see in person absolutely! You get the feeling it really is 1967 and you're watching some good drag racing like it was meant to be. The cars are violent! Especially the Southern Flyer Ford Falcon.
Glad you loved the video! If you wouldn't mind, I would greatly appreciate a subscribe so that you'll be able to check out my future videos from next season!
fantastic racing, but what was up with the timing boards at the end of the strip, werent they working that day, and if so, how cfould they tell from the starting line who actually won if it was a close one????
Man I really Enjoyed this 13 Mins of Old School Gasser Drags, Very Kool Video! .... { Love That SnakeBite Stang}... All the best to you Lou {New Subscriber for Sure!}
rylan cornelius oh yea for sure! It happened to me one time the season before. I think it's in my Ware Shoals video. The same car gets a little sideways and gets super close to me as I was filming.
Benny TD it isn’t a real gt350. It was just a regular ole run of the mill mustang I believe. They cut it up and make it a fastback. So no GT350 was harmed here!
Where's some of California kingdon dragstrip and hathmoonbay drag strip and Bakersfield dragstrips. If any footage of Div. 7. Fremont dragstrip had the tower on the left and was painted white in 1968.
Nice launch, good hook up, proper setup on the four link, maybe some 90 10 shocks. Iron American Dream on TH-cam. Share it. Take a ride across the promised land.
No fancy modern four links allowed. Basic stock suspension with ladderbars. Check out Southeast Gassers home page and check out their rule page. It's a cool read.
What's cool is, these cars are required to be street legal. I just re-read the recent article on these racers in my latest Hemming's Muscle Machines magazine an nowhere did it state "Vehicles must be street legal". I fucked up.
Yes, I already made a note of that in my above message. Everything must be period correct including decals/stickers, etc. "Race?" (old Ed Roth t shirt)
Albert Heck Thank you sir! And the only camera used in this video is the Canon Vixia HF G30. My other videos mostly use this camera as well as two GoPros.
Im not a huge car person but i like drag racing but this is pretty cool i didnt know people still drag raced a real car with a steal body im asssuming and no computers pretty shweet
And just what are the prizes? I don't see any time's up on the lanes. So what are they do they all get participation trophies? I mean it's not that I don't like it because I like it those are some nice freaking cars but I'd still like to see some times
In this day of 'social distancing' and the fear of crowds, it's good to visit a video like this with the computer plugged into a decent set of speakers to remind me of what I can't go see, at least not this year. Nice video!
Gassers are still on of the most exciting cars to watch. No computers just big balls and skill!
Got that right.

There is nothing like nostalgic racing this is what racing was all about back then and it was still and so much fun
This is real drag racing These are REAL DRAG CARS! THANKS FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO
Drag racing the way its supposed to be! Great footage!
BOVMAN55 thank you!
I like it, I love it, I can't get enough of it ! Brings back lot's of memory's of 1965, 66, 67, !!
Johnny B. Goode glad you like it sir! If you don't mind subscribe to my channel for more videos like this. I'll be posting more come next season.

That freebird nova is bad ass!!
I would watch this over pretty much any other form of drag racing period! Real cars, manuals, high rpm and open headers! SOOO much better than any promod, I don't care how fast they are!
Too bad Dylan isn't posting anymore,, really like his work. Excellent perspective, clarity is spot on. Thanks Dylan and of course, Thanks to TH-cam
John Z thank you sir! I would like to post more. I moved a few hours away from them now for a full time job with the military so I never am able to go to the races anymore. But hopefully I’ll be at the last race of the year and get some footage
Too bad the timing lights weren't working. What's up with that Greer? You can't tell which lane won or what the RT/ET or speed was.
Gassers represent such a awesome time in hot rod history.... you have to love them
One of the narrowest - and therefore scariest - strips I have ever seen. Really awesome job editing - not a dull moment.
Best Drag Racing I have seen in a long time. Thanks again Kevin.
Kevin Doyle thank you!
NHRA doesnt have anything this cool
NHRwho!
Yeahh.....ok!!!
🤔 the gassers are far and away the coolest and the best👻🌪
Here it is 05-04-19 & it’s still as good as it gets !
Never realized just how damn cool Gassers could be. Never seen a Mustang as a Gasser either. Just plain fun, cool all mechanical get it and go.
Tough to see who won and how fast!
Brings me back to the good old days that's when they made cars nothing today
No Ets but the drivers and crowd know who the winners are
Bad Banana's front white walls! Coolness defined.
I have a lot of respect for these old guys they've been out here killing tracks since before I was born
Fantastic footage, well done Dylan! Thanks for sharing!
Ontario Motorsports Enthusiasts Thank you!
Thanks for videoing these racing events because I can’t get around. Next year could y’all turn on the winners light. Thank y’all and God bless !
great video. thanks for posting I'm in northern Indiana. nice to watch races in the winter. looking forward to more gonna be down there in july to ride around the mountains for a couple weeks. my brother lives in piedmont.
James Fogarty thank you

I hope to build a gasser one day. I think the 63 Falcon "Sucker Punch" is my favorite. Awesome stuff!
I'm hooked on gasser 30 years ,,,this good gasser bra..
Real racing....no crowds of shit talking guys on the track arguing just Real Racing!!!!
The dam Hoopty Wagon surprised me, i love the all neck to neck ground grabbing Gasser's, what a show........
Thank you for the video!!!
edwin storz the hoopty wagon is very surprising that's for sure.
Any idea the typical 1/8 mile times? I can smell the fumes and taste the kettle 🌽. Thanks for posting.
I cannot remember what the times are. I apologize. The drivers all agreed and wanted the times off
Reaction time, Total time and velocity are missing in action!
Who else yelled at their screen because they were so into it? I had to take a step back
Glad you loved the video! If you wouldn't mind, I would greatly appreciate a subscribe so that you'll be able to check out my future videos from next season!
Nice to see something different. No dragsters, pro-mods, pro-stocks, just good ole gassers. Your vids are awesome.
Yeah.... the camera guy had the best seat in the house...
Im on the potty at 5 am. Making cave noises. Wife must think... it's her cooking 😆😆
WOW super captivating footage 66 cuda is killer
fantastic racing, but what was up with the timing boards at the end of the strip, werent they working that day, and if so, how cfould they tell from the starting line who actually won if it was a close one????
The timing boards worked but the group chose to keep the times off. You could tell by one light that would come on on the winning side.
No apologizes necessary . Better than NHRA All Access by a mile, especially the sound
Alfred Lukasek well I appreciate it!
Thanks for showing the times.........
I have watched this video so many times. Hoopty Wagon is the bees knees!
so many longtube headerss man its fucking awesome
1:58 that is a sick Fastback 🤘
Man I really Enjoyed this 13 Mins of Old School Gasser Drags, Very Kool Video! .... { Love That SnakeBite Stang}...

Look forward to more of this great footage and competition.
Really enjoyed this!
Perhaps a walk thru the pits a bit too..
Ash qelon thank you!
Them red tints is hot boy af
Awesome old school is the only way I even build model Gassers l love em so much
That yellow C/G Bad Banana really is BAD. I saw it pull wheelies in 3 gears on a very violent pass. FAST! And to think....all 4 speed cars.
Well done man great footage.
TheGreenmeeny thanks man!
killer footage. It was a fun day for sure!!!
Third Gear Speed Shop Thanks man!
That barracuda was dynamite. Had to watch that twice.
Woo Hoo, wheels up 64 Barracuda @ 9:16!
The woman in the pink dress with high heeled shoes is smokin' hot.
Like back in the days of Jungle Pam
Thinking the same thing,,,, its about the show!
It was skill and so much fun
I hate that cuda lost, the wheelie cost him time. It was the only mopar I saw. My dad had a 273 cuda in 1965 he raced.
Goooohhhhhhhlieeeeee. These things will always be my favorite.
Some of these things act like stick shifts🤔
did anyone else see the guy in all white at 8:07 when whitetrash just about took him out? didn't even flinch!
rylan cornelius I wanna say the car was a little past the guy when that happened. Not 100% sure though.
Man it was still close! I would have jumped out of my skin lol!
rylan cornelius oh yea for sure! It happened to me one time the season before. I think it's in my Ware Shoals video. The same car gets a little sideways and gets super close to me as I was filming.
You noticed he has to wear a back brace to hold up the heavy balls load...
The first one: Boogie man!!! nailed it!!! PERFECT
Brian Rosborough the Boogie Man is an awesome car!
its a team !
Great video 👍👍
Cut up that GT 350 to make it into a gasser ? .. I get why they cut up old nova’s and 55’s but a GT 350? .. Man, that’s a shame !
Benny TD it isn’t a real gt350. It was just a regular ole run of the mill mustang I believe. They cut it up and make it a fastback. So no GT350 was harmed here!
Looks like a gt350 to me dylanlee22”I believe” ..
Great vid! Thanks!
amazing..great show..great cars!
Ken Hall thank you!

Garth Clyne thank you!
Greer, South Carolina
Loved it!

And they're all stick shift too. It's one of the rules in SEGA....
Wat Track? It's tight.
Thanks for the great video . Way to go One Gone Dog ! How bout that Snake Bite ! First on Race day ! LOL!
wayne johnson Thank you! Yep I was happy for Ernie Smith in the One Gone Dog and the Snake Bite is on fast car!
Was that John Coggins in the red Willys? AWESOME
Awesome video man thank you!!
Is it just me or does the mustang look out of place in gasser clothes?!
Good video other dylan!
Dylan Draws and we thank ya other Dylan
wish the timers were working

dirty deedz thanks dude

Yamaha SR650 not street legal but the modifications have to be period correct i.e. no efi no beadlocks only mods avaliable in the 60s
Yes, I already made a note of that in my above message. Everything must be period correct including decals/stickers, etc. "Race?" (old Ed Roth t shirt)
y'all need to haul your asses north to the
Playground of Power
beautiful Byron HELLINOIS 😈
What camera were you using to film this? That is good, clear footage.
Mudman Harley thank you and it is a Canon Vixia HF G30
Where is this track located?
BOVMAN55 it's in Greer, South Carolina
keep the rubber on the road ,it get me going
very nice...... old memories
Tony Mizzell thank you sir!
Thank you also wish I had found sooner. Thank u
Nice video, very clean. what cameras are you using? Great job
Albert Heck Thank you sir! And the only camera used in this video is the Canon Vixia HF G30. My other videos mostly use this camera as well as two GoPros.
Neat footage for sure. Were the clocks not working?
They don't run the clocks for the gassers. Old school.
Im not a huge car person but i like drag racing but this is pretty cool i didnt know people still drag raced a real car with a steal body im asssuming and no computers pretty shweet
Gotta have 70's aluminum slots to run SEG!!
hey what kind of camera did you use? Video is so clear.
R 3rd it is a canon vixia hf g30.
dylanlee22 thanks bro
R 3rd yea man!
The tree counted 10 seconds at the end and then
put out the red light. It's automatic, right?
1776vtgmb From my understanding you got 7 seconds to hit the final stage. If you take any longer your done which is what happened to him there
I count ten seconds from the Mustang stage?
1776vtgmb it may be 10. I just remember Donovan saying 7 seconds though.
Yup, it's definitely 10 seconds from the time his second light comes on.
Do they do different times for the different shows? Watched this 7 times!
1776vtgmb honestly have no clue! I don't know that much about it!
Awesome.
Chris Califano thanks!
Bless your heart where are the ETs
helpmenow7 they keep the ET’s to themselves at the race so I’m not gonna show them. You either win or you lose.
6:00 Clockwork Orange?
And just what are the prizes? I don't see any time's up on the lanes. So what are they do they all get participation trophies? I mean it's not that I don't like it because I like it those are some nice freaking cars but I'd still like to see some times
No times?...?
Sucks when the timing light ain`t working.
When drivers tuned by the seat of their pants and not with their fingertips and a cpu
1:53 I would drive that ;)
.
If you could just smell the tire smoke this would be perfect :---)
You are definitely right about that!
NICE!
Muncle Mikes thanks!
