Watching you and Delia having a serious petting and snuggle session at the beginning reminded me of what one of my cats would do. My mother was in skilled nursing, we’d lived together for 15 years after Dad died. I was working full time, stopped everyday on my way home and spent at least 90 minutes with Mom (mobility issues and blind, so her life was pretty isolated.) I’d get home around 8PM, feed the 3 cats, and sit down for a few minutes. My Calico, named Molly Pitcher, would jump in my lap for attention (she missed Mom as she had always been home with Mom all day for about 9 years.) She would start purring, asking that her back be rubbed, ears scratched, talked to. It was so relaxing and soothing! When she had had enough and hopped down I always felt ready to tackle some food for myself, some time reading, playing with the other two cats, and could face whatever the next day would bring. Molly would “put me to bed” by sleeping on me until she felt my breathing change, then she’d go to her preferred spot. The other two would sleep beside me, so I never felt lonely. Animals are smarter about what we need sometimes than we are.
I Seriously enjoyed the fact that you thought enough of yourself to give yourself a “self care day” you deserve it. Remember that you are worth it and you make not only the world a better place for us but for your darling fur babies too.Thank you for sharing your self with the community and for giving us your tips as well. Deli reminds me of my childhood kitty princess... I miss her so much she lived for 24 years . My mom got her when I was 8 months old so we kinda grew up together
Chilli sounds great with winter weather. If you want to add some good flavor and more protein to your Chilli add Trader Joe's Soy Chorizo straight to your recipe...it adds great flavor. No need to sautee it beforehand...just let it cook with your Chilli. Love seeing you with your 2 furbabies and seeing how you love them so much and how they are so comfortable with you and seek you out for affection. Great idea adopting them!!!
Hi, Chelsea! I also store my favorite recipes on my phone as screen shots. I’ve found it much easier to take a new screen shot when I begin cooking . That y, when your phone refreshes, your recipe will be the first photo.
OMG Gordo has really lengthened out and his tail has gotten sooooo fluffy. Remember when he was just a litte floof you could hold in the palm of your hand? You take such good care of them. Bummed I'll miss your live stream tomorrow, but it's the holiday season and I sing in our local symphony chorus, so I'll be rehearsing at that time. Will watch it later, of course, but it's just not the same. Must admit my first thought when you asked what you should get from your less-than-ideal sound bath was "your money back."

I love all the examples of self-care you tried out, and you had a great attitude about just showing up, even when it doesn't quite work out the way you wanted it to. I would have been irritated by the construction noise during the sound bath too... it would be better if they had a soundproof room. I hope your body starts feeling better as you continue your self-care. I know you're working SO hard with Vlogmas, and your videos have been stellar!
