i had one in the 80s and im 50 now and i want one,so much fun and tougher than you think .on sand they are awesome. take it to the beach.
This car will bring back memories for sure, lucky now they are way more affordable with heaps of upgrade options, will be taking it to the beach when we run this car with the grasshopper together 😀👍
Had one back in de days too and just got me a new one for my 50th bday. Hope you get one again too 👍🏼
Classic Tamiya :) Rocking Vanessa's LunchBox. Never gets old!
Luv the lunchbox, too much fun, that goes for all the tamiya classics 😀👍
I had one of these on the late 80's, they are great looking and simple buggies, lots of fun. The nice thing about them is the only upgrade needed is a set of ball bearings and you're good to go.
Ball bearings make all the difference on these buggies.....been having great fun with mine .........cheers mate 😀👍
I ran my vintage hornet on sunday. Same motor same battery. But manual speed controller. You nailed the video mate. Goes good for the money. Smiles all around. I flipped mine on its lid and scratched the roof but hey thats how it rolls
Thanks so much mate, I wish I still had my vintage, kept the old manual speed controller though, I luv running these cars even if they get scatched, just means will be looking forward for the next respray 👍
Not even a hobby grade kit but an excellent first kit!!
Thanks mate for sure , the hoppers make for a great first kit 👍
Hello from France. Thank you for the video. Races with Grasshopper and Hornet only were the most enjoyable competitions I've done. Modern RC are too fast. Still using my 35yo Grasshopper...even after it falled of a cliff to finish in a river a few years ago...😂
Hello buddy that's awesome, wish there were more vintage competitions over here these days , although some clubs still do run them but the stock class modern is a great way to get back in ✌
Love the hornet. Great video
Thanks m8, hornet is definitely a classic favourite 😀👍
I had a grasshopper but by neighbour had a hornet. It got so competitive 😂. Ended up with a Team Losinand Schumacher top cat and boss cat. I wonder if they still make cars like that.
I was in competition with my neighbour also, always upgrading and racing each other, good fun.....yes you see plenty of Losi and Schumacher on the race track these days 😁👍
I always wanted one (and a Wild One) but couldn't afford it back then. I think the car was 180 Gulden back then for the bare car. Instead I bought a Bear Hawk which was discounted, the Bear Hawk has however no steerring on power. How is the steering on this car? Into RC plane flying and 3D printing now so no cars anymore.
I never got to experience a Bear Hawk but the Hornets steering is pretty good for the type of car it is, I'm running a TSU05 servo so nothing high end as you will not get precision steering out of this like a race car, but for having fun on the grass , sand , dirt and road, steering this car where you want it to go is no problem 🙂✌
Beast of a car!!
Thanks Jordy, this car was really popular in the 80s and now it's simply a classic and still fun to drive. 👍
Wicked video, i just done one too
Thanks so much mate, will check it out, hornets are always a fun build and drive 😀✌
If only Tamiya still made the Falcon.
Fingers crossed Tamiya does a re release of the Falcon sometime, for sure will be getting my hands on that car 🙂✌
@@rcbloka Great channel by the way. Love your approach to videos.
@@hilltopperblog thanks so much buddy, have been trying different things to get some entertainment into the vids, will keep trying to do better 😀👍
Very cool buggy! That's why I do videos as well, to show the fun of the hobby.. although it can be frustrating at times. The payoff is always worth it when everything comes together though!
Its always exciting capturing the thrills and spills of this hobby, will check you out man thanks so much for the comment 😀 👍
Thanks! No telling where this hobby may take you 👍
