Apples lineup is set in such a way that you will somehow buy their more and more expensive products even if you don’t need to that’s why they do such things
Keeping it thin all while keeping the heat low enough where it doesn’t cause problems with the screen is probably the reason. The Pro heats up more. If they went deeper, they could definitely manage.
There are rumors from Ming Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman predicts larger iMac pro. Kuo suggested a 2025 release and Gurman said that development is ongoing. The 32 inch iMac pro is expected to have M4 pro chipset. FYI- These are just rumors.
Sometimes the answer about what is not there is answered when you look at what is there. The M iMacs have never had a Pro chip. I think it comes down to thermals, plus Apple wanting to drive people to the Mac Studio instead. Perhaps the iMac Pro sold less than its popularity seems to indicate, or people kept it forever and never upgraded it. That said, I would love to have a 32" iMac Pro. I would order it today.
Impressive video, Daniel Romero. Looking forward to seeing your next upload from you. I smashed that thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the excellent work! Your insights on the Mac Mini's performance were eye-opening. How do you think the integration of the M4 chip will influence software development for MacOS in the coming years?
Great review. I’ve had connectivity issues with the Mac Mini set ups in the past until I learned they worked flawlessly with devices using the current Bluetooth standard. I keep a wired version around for the initial setup just in case. The Mac mini speaker is only there as an accessibility feature. Steve Jobs originally introduced it as a “bring your own peripherals” device.
Really nice setup video! I have few queries, right now I am using Windows PC (Ryzen 5 2600x) which is quite old. I do graphic designing (using Adobe apps) and video editing (some time podcast editing which has 3 camera shots of 1080p videos). I was thinking of upgrading my PC and then Mac Mini M4 launched! Considering Mac's performance consistency and durability, I was thinking of switching to Mac Mini M4. Since you are a mac mini user, can you please guide me. - Should I upgrade my Windows PC or switch to Mac Mini M4 or Mac Mini M4 Pro? Which one is better in terms of performance, dependibility and consistency? - My system upgrade cycle is generally at least 5-6 years. - I don't have AC in my work room and when I was planning for PC, I was thinking of putting Liquid Cooler or better CPU fan. - Do you think, Mac Mini M4 or M4 Pro should work fine without AC or it may heat up while editing videos? Does Mac Mini M4 heats up while rendering or opening multiple apps with 100+ tabs open in Firefox (or any browser)? - Also, should I go for M4 or M4 Pro with 24GB RAM and 512GB SSD because I can't upgrade it later? Please share your mac mini experience and if you think of any other important points as compared to Windows PC user, please share your thoughts here or cover it in your review. I will wait for your detailed review. Thanks a lot, buddy!
The big question for any Windows user who has never used a Mac before is whether you want to spend the time learning a new operating system. Even if the M4 Mini can do everything you want (and plenty of videos on TH-cam will demonstrate that for you), if you don't like using Macs then it's not for you. I've used Macs and PCs for 40 years (yes, since they first came out) and some people just don't like the Mac way of doing things, but others (like me) do.
@@TheDanEdwards Thanks a lot buddy for sharing your views. It is an interesting fact and perspective. My concern is that my PC is due for upgrade since my workflow is getting affected so looking at Mac's performance, I was confused. Overall apps are going to be same so no major difference and I belive it's going to be fun of using something new and different. It will be fresh change! :)
Definitely! I gave it a test with the M4 Pro MacBook and it's incredible! Even with the 24gb of memory you should be more than good. I got 48gb on the MacBook Pro but I would only recommend 48gb if you have the extra money or need to have a ton of tabs, Final Cut and After Effects etc... running at the same time.
Yeah no mic is built in unfortunately. You'd need to use the one built in to your display or connect a camera that has one and select that as the mic input in settings.
honestly i just ordered a mac mini but havent received it, and had ZERO clue it came with speakers. I have spent all day shopping for computer speakers, trying to decide between buying new ones or repurposing my old TV surround sound speakers with an amp.. 🙄. So glad i found this!!! I watched several videos about mac mini and have been on the reddit sub as well and no one mentioned the speakers. I'm new to Mac (long time iphone user and decided that moving to mac will be best for me) and im grateful for this review!
Everybody is giving Apple a pass on the power button ... the reality distortion field remains in place. It's a stupid design decision and NO OTHER OEM ON THE PLANET would get the same free pass from tech reviewers if they implemented something that user-unfriendly. Sorry, it's pretty inexcusable. Yes, I still bought one anyway - but they don't get a free pass on it not being a big deal. It is a big deal, just not a deal breaker. It gets a pass from me only because the rest of it is so well done.
Well, I’ve had a MacBook Air M1 since it came out, so something like 4 years, and I’ve never once powered it off. It’s only been restarted for system updates (automatically, by software, not from a stupid physical switch). So… I think the Mac mini is Apple saying power buttons are stupid and unnecessary- and they’re not wrong - but they probably knew a bunch of plebes would scream blue murder without a power button, so they just stuck it on the bottom. THIS IS 100% A NON- ISSUE.
@@fulllifeadventure5195 You're comparing a laptop (notably with a power button conveniently in an accessible position every time you open it, which is the system trigger to wake up for use) with a desktop that has no battery to keep it alive in a power outage situation ... which is NOT the same as a laptop with its own self-contained supply of backup power to keep it going regardless of being plugged in to the wall or not. It isn't a deal-breaker, sure, but it IS needless and dumb on their part. As a desktop system, the Mini isn't designed to be picked up and moved around all the time. And they didn't leave enough space to even slide a finger under the base without picking it up/moving it. Desktops tend to be set up, cabled to the monitor/power/peripherals and left alone. It isn't like a laptop that is designed to be picked up and moved around. Power on the bottom of a laptop? Sure - why not! Or would that be silly?
Appreciate the speaker test
Yeah, thanks bro
Yep only video who did that. Everyone else completely ignores it.
Been using my new mini for four days, I am so happy about how fast it is. It is absolutely amazing & a great buy. It replaced my 2018 Mac Mini.
Thank you for showing what the sound is like.
It’s crazy to see how this little machine runs pretty smoothly 😮🤪👍on a computer.
Wow I have watched a ton of reviews but got a lot more out of yours glad I clicked on it!
Thank you!!👍👍👍
Thanks for the speaker test 👍 How fast is the boot time? Also what Dell monitor do you have?
As good as the Mac mini is, I still don’t understand why they can’t put the m4 pro chip in the iMac and make it 27 inches.

@ I’m quite happy getting the Mac Studio but they haven’t updated it yet and no way am I buying the M2 Max now

my 2017 windows laptop is melting down just WATCHING you open all your apps at once 🤣
I never have a mac mini before, i’m curious how about if i put it to sleep mode and move somewhere else without power, do it still on the sleep mode?
whats that monitor ? specs ?

What's a good speaker setup for Mac mini? Assuming it'd need to be bluetooth speakers
It has a headphone jack
@@troymckervill9243 Only issue is it being in the front. Don't want to have the cord always sticking out the front.
Will m4 pro 20 core you be enough for blender semi professional work

How did you inslatt honkai impac?
mac app store!
Instead of paying $400 extra to future proof it, why not just save that money and buy a new Mac mini in the future when this starts to feel slow?
I agree. Much more cost effective and practical approach. At this price point, it’s worth it.
I tried siri on the mac mini 4 but couldn't get it working. It asks for a microphone. Any ideas?

@DanielRomero Thanks man
Use iPhone for mic and camera
