I'm 60 years old. My mother loved Mario Lanza and I listened to his music when I was a child in around 1960. I have no doubt that Italy will continue to produce such great singers. Thanks.

Sandra, no; Mario`s maternal grandfather,Salvatore Lanza, was from the town of Tocco da Casauria in the Abruzzi region of central Italy.He migrated to America in 1902; his wife & Mario`s mother, Maria, who was then just 11 months, joined him the following year. Mario`s father,Antonio Cocozza, migrated to America with his parents in 1905 when Antonio was 11 years old.The Cocozzas were from the small village of Filignano in the Molise region, bordering Campania, so no direct Neapolitan connection.
