That's awesome! The locomotive pulling the train sounds like it has an EMD roots blown, two stroke 567 C engine. I live in America and the sounds of an EMD 567 engine are rarely heard on any Class 1 mainlines these days. (I grew up in the 1980's and '90s and heard both the 567 and 645 engine sounds, both non turbo and turbo.) This loco pulling the train looks almost like an EMD GP28 freight engine.
@ I mean they’ve already stripped them of the corporate PTV colours, reckon it’s better to leave them in the darkish grey they look like now? I think it’d be cool to see them in maybe VR blue n gold, or 707 do up there SG set in Tangerine, would be cool to see a Vinelander trip in the old Tangerine haha!
I enjoyed this video, abit odd seeing a VR Liveried T Class hauling these N Cars, but this will almost be the norm to any preserved railway that was gifted these cars
It sounds like one of the coaches or carriages in your case, was fitted with an engine generator set to supply the HEP to the train's consist. (I live in the US and we had steam heated passenger trains with engine generator sets and batteries, until HEP was adopted) The locomotive appears to be a freight only loco and didn't see any HEP receptacles on either end of it. These carriages look very similar to the cars that were built by Canadian Car & Foundry for Canadian National Railway back in 1955, and were later used in VIA services. (Via is Canada's version of Amtrak here in the US) Although, these carriages appears to have HEP receptacles.
At the Mornington end no. The track has been pulled up years ago. But at the Moorooduc end yes one day it is possible the trains could go all the way to Melbourne and beyond. the government had the smarts when building peninsula link to build a bridge over the rail line.
@@BehaveDave1more likely terminated at Baxter which is of that far. Main hassel is the roundabout at Eramosa and old Moorooduc hwy which is not nice for motorbikes with rail going through the middle. Temporary people become very temporary.

Love this! Cant wait to see if these heritage groups paint them up!
I hope not, it’s better to leave them in their original livery

@ lol SRHc has them too but they didn’t put them in gold & blue like livery
I think the livery looks great, elegant and sophisticated.Good catch.
It would've looked weird with K 163 pulling them! Nice video mate
T334 will get a chance to haul them
@@robbiewales3007 Nice to see the T class out too
I heard the trains running on the weekend. was too busy to pop in to have a look though.
Very nice mate
Fantastic video, do you know what their plans for these coaches are?
coaches?
@@ljsrailwayvideos2370 The N-Set
Look like really nice older cars.

Daylesford tourist Railway has N sets huled by a Y class
T classes hauled N sets on the Gippsland line in the 1980s as well as the Goulburn Valley line
Question: why did they (the volunteers) peel off the “silver vinyl”?
It looks like they're removing the last of the V/Line wrapping. So as to commemorate the ownership of the set.
Where is the Head-End Power coming from without a P, N or GenSet?

At least I know the old Vline carriages are not going to waste
well not the N sets at least
Ha I sat in first class on an N set this afternoon. A million times nicer than VLocity
Nice, when did thay get that N set?
a year or so ago
Can't the trains go past the Mooroduk station to continue its journey beyond that over that road?

I’m just curious what livery these N sets are gonna be painted in?
